    Here I show you how to use weight lifting straps for pulling movements such as deadlifts and pullups.
    First off make sure you're using the straps on the correct hand.
    To set up the lifting straps correctly, hold the end of the strap with the loop.
    This hand will be the one you're fitting the strap for.
    For example, for the right hand hold the loop with the right hand.
    Now with the other hand, grab the opposite end of the strap and thread it through the loop (thread it from the middle of your body out).
    Now place your hand inside the big loop you created with the padding falling on top of your wrist joint.
    Now do the opposite, to set up the wrist straps for the other hand.
    The purpose of the lifting straps is take away the lack of grip strength when lifting heavy and with lots of volume.
    The heavier you lift and as you increase the number of sets and reps, the more your grip strength will fatigue.
    This is where the lifting straps come in.
    Instead of worrying about holding on to the bar and the weights, the wrist lifting straps will take care of that while you focus on the lift.
    This simple and inexpensive addition will increase your lifts dramatically!

    Is it normal for my grip to he weak now that i deadlift 100kg ( 225lbs ) or did my grip fail too soon?

    • @ShreddedDad
      @ShreddedDad  2 роки тому +3

      Usually the heavier you lift, the stronger your grips gets.
      But with heavier weight, your grip will fail faster too.
      That’s where the straps come in. They take out the weak link (grip fatigue) so you can focus on the lift.

    • @ShreddedDad
      @ShreddedDad  2 роки тому

      Lifting Straps are for pulling movements. If your wrists hurt then a wrist strap is what you need. Those wrap around your wrists to provide support

    I used them today but having to grip the strap gives the bar girth which makes it harder. (The thicker the grip, the harder) idk if I was using them wrong

    • @ShreddedDad
      @ShreddedDad  2 роки тому

      They’re supposed to make grip less of a factor so you can focus on the lift rather than your grip strength. Make sure you wrap them around tightly.

    Why shouldn't you use them with "not so heavy" weighs?

    • @ShreddedDad
      @ShreddedDad  2 роки тому +1

      If your grip can handle the weight without interfering the exercise, then you don’t need them

    • @luismisanmartin98
      @luismisanmartin98 Рік тому

      @@ShreddedDad the fact that you don't need them doesn't explain why you *shouldn't* use them. Can you be more specific?
      For example, if I'm doing pull ups with the aim of strengthening my back, why should I put any focus at all in the grip (even if I can handle the weight) if it can be taken care of by the straps?
