Disappointed with the deletions of aquas, holidays, and some of the other product exclusive parallels. Will most likely use the link for some the fanatics blasters and look for some hangers and see how they go. Hopefully we're not gonna start getting panini'd by fanatics too. Lol
The new Topps logo cards in Fanatics blasters look cool. The "foil" could make them look even better in person. The 4 or 5 of those you'll get (1:2 odds with 9 packs) probably justifies the extra $5 per and there's a small chance of getting a Fanatics redemption card so, I think there's a reason to open Fanatics blasters if you like opening blasters. The hangars (one pack basically) lacks something for me as a way to get that pack-opening satisfaction.
I believe the "No Name on Front" parallel on the 1990 inserts is a great touch that I was really hoping to see. They are a tough pull, as they should be, as it appears there are ~25 copies of each. And the tribute to Frank Thomas is fitting. I know you're not a spreadsheet guy, but I put together a very complete breakdown of formats with odds & prices baked in. I'd be happy to send it your way if you care to check it out. It shows exactly what you've pinpointed. Of the retail options, megas & hangers are by far the most well-rounded. Thanks for all your content.
I just got back into collecting over the summer and have bought mostly all retail. I did preorder one Jumbo box for Series 1. Hoping to build the set this year, so likely will buy some hanger and mega boxes when they hit the retail stores. Wish I could afford to buy by the case, but don't have funding for those.
Thanks for the video! The Fanatics blasters still have the memorabilia redemptions and replaced the aqua parallels with a silver foil card. It really seems like Fanatics is diluting the retail product by removing some of the numbered parallels. This will probably be the last flagship series that I will purchase retail items beyond the Fanatics blasters and hanger boxes.

The Hangers having multiple different hanger-exclusive parallels and also higher odds on some of the other parallels makes them a no brainer for me. I think with all the parallel changes and consolidation, it has actually made reasons to open all of the different formats. Which is great for consumers. No matter the purchase level you can handle, there is something specific for what you are buying. Which is how it should be across all lines. If you make something special for all formats, you don’t lock anyone out of the hobby at that point.

Well I made a decision at Target on Friday. I must have walked into a restock because I found 13 2024 update hangers and I was like if I do not buy these now then someone else will. First hanger Golden mirror.
I love jumbos also, unfortunately the prices usually spike quickly, so I don't get too many. Next i get hobby boxes. I will try hangers also. Great review!
But also, i love this design. As a set builder first, i don't mind not hitting all the big cards and parallels. If i do hit some, cool, most likely sell those. Just trying to complete my set first, then i can go hunting a little bit.
i pulled a /50 merrill rookie debut halloween and a /50 mothers day padres card (with merrill) out of a blaster i got for my judge buybacks. i'll miss both parallels lol

Think it's a decent checklist, hope S2 print run is cut in half. Odds not in our favor at all. Smart move on Jumbos, especially with silver packs.
I think it's going to be a tough release. The odds suggest only 1 numbered card every 6 hangers. 24 Update seemed to be a numbered card every other hanger. Im still ripping it, but I'm keeping my expectations low. Hopefully, I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Are you aware that there are 2 types of megas? The regular ones and the fun box ones. Different cards. I went 2 jumbo and 4 fanatics. Playing a waiting and see for what else to maybe pick up.
I don’t have much money to spend on this but I did preorder a normal hobby box can spend a little more money should I get a mega box or get some hangers instead?

What I've seen so far is a big yikes from me which is on par with 2024 Series 1. I'm gonna sit these out till Topps Chrome Update. Therefore I will live vicariously through your rip vids! Happy ripping!
Saw someone rip 5 blasters and 11 fat packs... Not the biggest sampling, but the "best things" were 2 gold /2025... No hits, and all the parallels pulled (pink sparkle, silver sparkle) were not numbered. I'm out!

i know youre in the business of ripping but i wont spend a $ on sealed 2025 paper. ill just buy james wood singles and cash out when he becomes the RoY favorite. looking forward to a jumbo profit challenge though, you get a lot of cards for $180 but the base cards are basically fire kindling and i hate that about most paper sets. at least heritage has a dedicated collector base and lots of SPs. this is just trash if they are increasing print runs...
I thought Fanatics buying Topps was a great idea for the hobby, but it's not looking so good anymore. Watering down the hobby with more cards and then taking away many of the cards that draw collectors in and provide value, all the while keeping it at the same price. I was thinking about getting a Fanatics blaster but with them taking away the aquas, there is no more chance for a color match and I think I might be out. Do you know if the regular yellows are still in hangers?
@westernnycards meh. He hasn't dont anything and he's on a bad team. If youre looking to hype yourself up because you know you need to do series 1 for the channel, fine. But series 1 is boring as hell.
@westernnycards Series Two had 3, arguably 4 better prospects than 2025 series 1 plus Ohtani as a dodgers and about 40% less of a print run. Its not even comparable.
