- Kokoro Kageura is a Japanese male judoka who competes in +100 kg weight category. He is the 2021 World Champion and a 2-time Asian Champion. He is also the person who ended Tedy Riner's 10-year unbeaten streak. Kageura is on the smaller end of the heavyweight division, but his masterful use of drop Seoi Nage/Otoshi techniques and Ashi Waza footsweeps/reaps made him one of the top competitors in his prime.

でも腰引いて両腕絞って指導2で勝つ国士舘柔道を作ったのが斎藤先生だったりするし、日本人のそういう勝ちに徹するところを変えるために足取るのも両手切るのも禁止になったんよ
100キロ超える巨体がこんなキレイに宙を舞うのか これこそ柔道 見てて気持ちいい

That's the beauty of Judo. Technique is king. Of course like in any combat sport size matters, but Judo technique really shines.

I don't think that he would have had a chance against Teddy Riner in Paris.
He is quite far in relation to his size and so he has a low gravity point. He is listed with 115 kg at a height of 1.80. This might be an advantage low and quite heavy. The technique must harmonize with the body. Yamashita (128 kg) was taller but also quite heavy and Hitoshi Saito (140 kg +) too. His son is taller - he won the All Japan at a very young age. How strong he is is not easy to say.

Kokoro lost to Henk Grol from the Netherlands by ippon after Teddy's lapsus. He also lost to Toma Nikiforov who plays for Belgium.
Most people who saw Teddy Riner were never convinced of him before the Paris Olympics. However he won the two strongest World tournaments. These were comparable with the traditional All Japan, however on the world level. 2008 and 2017. This was not comparable with the open class 2010 in Tokyo where most athletes chose between the open weight class and the open class in the same week. There the Japanese cheated on him.

Saito sucks
Teddy Riner had always the champion bonus like Muhammad Ali who only convincingly when he beat Foreman by ko. The most victories were gifts. Ali and Riner just had to reach the match without any rating. The "challenger" had to win, otherwise the champion got the victory by decision. Also Yamashita was not better than Saito.
Lewis vs. Klitschko - the same. Klitschko had to beat Lewis by ko. The same - Arnold Schwarzenegger.
組み手争いだけが全てで、組まない・組ませないだけの柔道って、見ていてつまらない。リネールのは柔道じゃなくてJUDOと言う別の競技。
