I just discovered these two tonight 7 7 23 I can't believe they are not world famous. I am a huge Buddy Holly fan but this kid could have taught all those rock roll stars from the 50s a lesson.

It's always fun to watch Larry go crazy. I saw in an interview that Lorrie admitted she was concerned that someday Larry would wrap the guitar cord around her ankles and pull her down.

This music is right on the threshold of country-early rock & roll....It's very refreshing at any time in history...It's never too late to learn something new & I feel I found a treasure...Music is like time travel...Peace Via Music...VIVA MARIA!

look up Western Swing bands. Collins kids are Western, not Country. Electric Guitars, string ties. Look at the guys sitting on the hay bales.
The show is even called Western Dance Party.

Just found out about the Collins Kids. Great act! Watching from the Philippines and not missing the cold, snow, and craziness in the USA.

Being in the PI in January/February sure beats being in Chicago at that time. We're looking to the point in the next two or so years where we can spend Nov-March there and skip winter altogether.

I read that her parents put the kibosh to that. Years later I saw an interview of Ricky Nelson, where he admitted he had one true love, but never her. I'm sure it was Lori. He even took her to meet Elvis.

Where I grew up the CW set wasn't real happy with heretical sounds like thisahere music. The racial origins mixed with the 'proud southern ' didn't gibe well with the older set...but the dance beat was rockin' and prospered. The Kids parents must have been beset with critics.
