I just discovered these two tonight 7 7 23 I can't believe they are not world famous. I am a huge Buddy Holly fan but this kid could have taught all those rock roll stars from the 50s a lesson.
It's always fun to watch Larry go crazy. I saw in an interview that Lorrie admitted she was concerned that someday Larry would wrap the guitar cord around her ankles and pull her down.
This music is right on the threshold of country-early rock & roll....It's very refreshing at any time in history...It's never too late to learn something new & I feel I found a treasure...Music is like time travel...Peace Via Music...VIVA MARIA!
look up Western Swing bands. Collins kids are Western, not Country. Electric Guitars, string ties. Look at the guys sitting on the hay bales. The show is even called Western Dance Party.
Being in the PI in January/February sure beats being in Chicago at that time. We're looking to the point in the next two or so years where we can spend Nov-March there and skip winter altogether.
Don’t know why this came across my feed ??? I’m 67 years old and I have never heard of this great group ??? And I thought that I at least had seen/ heard of all there is 😮 they are great 😅
Hes a combination of many great artists yet to still come. Marc Bolan had this kind of energy. Bowie Beatles and more. Larry is the original Jitterbug.💯👍🏼🎸🪲
I read that her parents put the kibosh to that. Years later I saw an interview of Ricky Nelson, where he admitted he had one true love, but never her. I'm sure it was Lori. He even took her to meet Elvis.
Chuck.Raney Raney No, Western & Texas Swing was produced out of Texas: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_swing Country (or Hillbilly) Boogie: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Country_Boogie 1940-1950's, Boogie Woogie + Country Music (Hillbilly). Shot Gun Boogie from Tennessee Ernie Ford, Guitar Boogie from Arthur „Guitar Boogie“ Smith or Hillbilly Boogie from the Delmore Brothers.

Where I grew up the CW set wasn't real happy with heretical sounds like thisahere music. The racial origins mixed with the 'proud southern ' didn't gibe well with the older set...but the dance beat was rockin' and prospered. The Kids parents must have been beset with critics.
Larry was incredible at such a young age.

What a charismatic cutie and a wonderful singer and entertainer she and her brother were. Rockabilly at it's finest!
Just found out about the Collins Kids. Great act! Watching from the Philippines and not missing the cold, snow, and craziness in the USA.

First time I heard this was last week. Imagine that. I love it.

Loved them then and I still love them!!
He sure was light on his feet. And could play well at the same time. Very talented!
Hmm, it doesn't appear that his guitar is actually plugged in.
That boy can play and that girl can sing. WOW
That boy can play and that girl can sing. WOW he's playing a double neck guitar.
Excellent excellent excellent.
I did'nt know such great genius kids in The U.S. in 50s.

Hes a combination of many great artists yet to still come. Marc Bolan had this kind of energy. Bowie Beatles and more. Larry is the original Jitterbug.💯👍🏼🎸🪲
Rest in Peace Larry 🎸
Ricky Nelson should have married her. What a country honey pie! They did date for a while I read somewhere.
I read that her parents put the kibosh to that. Years later I saw an interview of Ricky Nelson, where he admitted he had one true love, but never her. I'm sure it was Lori. He even took her to meet Elvis.

It's sad that she passed away in 2018

How many times were they on this show? Every week ?
This beats the Porter Wagner show.
I want Whatever it is he's on !
He was on the adrenaline of YOUTH. No drug could ever compare or come close to THAT!

You know, I've heard of that guy before, but I didn't know. He famous as a kid until recently. And yeah, white boys do know how to dance.
This is before Ritalin caught on, evidently. :)
These kids should have been bigger than Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins combined.
musicians are pretty admiring of the founding fathers and mothers. They don't think in terms of best etc.
+Carlos Nells founding fathers? This act was on the stage in '54 .....
Well, they would have had to release records with good songs that the public hadn't heard before.
Angus young saw this and said that's it
🙂
Who was first, Larry or Chuck Berry??😊😊
👏
So.....was Larry wireless miked up here?
No cord on the guitar. In ‘54?
Looks like a young Jimmy Page up there with that suit and double neck...
Looks like he influenced Chuck berry with his moves on the stage
Anyone else notice that his guitar isn’t plugged in? Sham
You could tell that from this picture quality? On my computer monitor I could surmise that Larry has no nose and his guitar had no strings!😊😊😁😁
first country rock?
Elvis who?
What year is this?
should have read 'duo'.

+Carlos Nells These people here, they are "Western", not Country. And if a Western Artist sings it ? THAT means it's Western Music.
Larry Collins,, a great player. You gotta wonder though, if he cringes when he sees these clips.
Why would he? He had the chops and the moves.
Heck... he was still playing until around 2018. Both were. Same guitars, same riffs same style.
Never changed.
Surely these kids weren't made aware of the erotic double entendre...
was there still cocaine in Coca Cola back then?
chuck Berry move over.
hihihi!ナマズブギー!ですか! kawaii!
The kid was better than Chuck Berry!
Listen to Shorting Bread which came out a year before Johnny B Goode. Maybe Back to the Future was telling the truth? :)
please upload better quality
I can see through the pixelation.
How much Michael Jackson was ripped off from Larry Collins?
They only play I-IV-V 8 bar blues, but they play it well.
Stray Cats before they were invented!
Nice
Larry!! Have you had your Ritalin?? Get to your room.
Jimmy page who this little guy rocks
I believe Chuck Berry stole some moves from that kid.😮
