Maphis and his wife Rose frequently performed together in concerts on tour. They had 3 kids. He also was Larry’s guitar teacher. You may have noticed in other videos Larry often kissed his sister on the cheek after a performance. I’m assuming that the Collins parents were backstage watching these performances from the wings and consented to their son kissing Joe like that. This is from a bygone era. I assume they all felt it was charming back then. Michael Corleone forcefully kissed his brother Fredo on the mouth in “The Godfather.” It didn’t mean he was a pervert. My aunt was born in the 1920’s. She always wanted me to kiss her on the lips. I hated it but she thought it was endearing somehow. During the 1980’s, I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan in concert. His brother Jimmy was his opening act with the Fabulous Thunderbirds. For an encore, the brothers played one double-neck guitar just like in this video. I appreciate your sexual concern for Larry but he has had a long show business career and I don’t think he ever brought it up as an issue.
RIP Larry , i miss our friendship back in the Calif days.......
Wow...they jam out with the best of today's rockers.
Easily. No sweat.
Frist time I've seen him play the upper Ax
Talent . Best as it gets
Awesome!
Back in the days when you could kiss a 10 year old boy on the mouth without anyone calling you a pervert.
do u want those days again?
If you look closely it was on the cheek.
Larry Collins said Joe Maphis was his biggest mentor and he and his wife were like his Second Mom and Dad.
I don't remember any day when I was okay to kiss a 10 year old on the mouth. Unless you were some weird, late night funny uncle.😊
Playing some rock licks you will here in the 70s.
AMAZING!
Awesome 💯💯
Wat a player
What ever became of Larry Collins?
Obviously sold his soul at a very young age...
Amazing talent. But I was already uncomfortable with the intimate guitar duet……..then they F***ing kissed.
