How We Stopped 1 Million KG of Plastic From Going Into The Ocean
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- For 2 and a half years, we have been busy cleaning rivers in Indonesia. We have collected over 1,000,000 kilograms of plastic and our cleanup operation is growing quickly! We are intercepting this plastic through our 180 trash barriers that we have installed in rivers, to stop plastic from going into the ocean. We are now on a mission to bring Sungai Watch throughout Indonesia's most polluted regions and bring our work internationally.
Stay tuned for episode 2 of our Sungai Watch update series!
Wow you guys don’t get enough credit and enough recognition !! amazing work the world really needs more people like you guys
Its crazy that this video only has 18k views! That combined with the amount of tourism Bali gets, you guys should get a lot more attention and recognition! You're putting in the real work
Hope that the government sees your hard work and starts investing in a good recycling system❤
Boa tarde!! Tenho um projeto de sacos de tecido retornável. Temos que fazer as pessoas entender que isso que chamamos de lixo é material retornável. Tenho uma ideia pra recolher material orgânico pra fazer ração pra animais.
Thank you for everything you do!! Sending love from the US 💚
I hope you guys are collaborating with the Ocean Cleanup. Great work!!
Best of luck to you guys
Really inspiring! Lot of shared experiences here in Tanzania, East Africa. The rubbish barriers could be very useful in the mangroves which connect the land and the sea. Could you please share the specifications and building instructions for the barriers so that they can be applied on this side of the world? Thanks very much
The real heroes!🙌🏽🙌🏽

Thank you!
You are amazing people!! Just watching you give us hope!!
Yay! First video
thank you guys
Amazing job, you should bring it to Philippines as its the worlds largest plastic polluter. Also do you think the plastic in Bali beaches is from Bali? Locals say its coming from Java, any data to verify it?
How about you start this in the Philippines. If Every country in the world starts managing their own trash it would not end up in the ocean.
true heroes of 🌍
Thank you!
UN needs to give y’all more money to scale up!
Great job guys !! Wonderful attitude and amazing courage to do this ! Now as a collective, what will you do with all that garbage? As a collective, any ideas for solutions to this global plastic crisis ?

Just found you guys - wow, what amazing work. Thank you so much ❤️
Jaga Sungai Kita!
Such voluntary efforts to keep the earth and the oceans clean is laudable but simultaneously there should be deterrent like fines against littering too.
0:39 _clean river is clean ocean_ 🌊
Love what you're doing! But I couldn't hear the man's commentary for most of the video.

Thank you guys for helping out. It is shameful but I hope the government will have some balls to take actions on trashers.

Any plans from the goverment to stop this?
Rather grow vetiver plants in the path of the water flow instead of using temporary large plastic cans.

Wherever I am visiting, especially beaches of Thailand, I picked up plastic bottles left behind by other tourists. They wouldn't like someone else doing that in their home or property but yet, they go somewhere else and does it. Prople are hypocrites and rude.
Jujur gua sebagai rakyat indonesia malu
Welcome wonderful corrupt country
Producer responsibility? That’s a joke right? Yes they made the bag but they didn’t give the people no access to proper disposal and or place it in the river. It’s unreasonable to blame the producers of a product if it’s mistreated after it leaves their facilities.
Very sad and unfortunate to have such an ignorant opinion
@@goodfodder it’s also very sad you don’t believe in personal responsibility.
@@sloth9669 Oh but I very much do believe in personal responsibility, education however is a problem. I blame the producers for creating / using unenvironmentally friendly packaging when alternatives exist due to cost. I blame the government for allowing such packaging in the first instance and not doing enough to address the problem.
Does the locals at least appreciate what you do?
Dope asf
Great
