the cross can also mean covenant. In paleo Hebrew, the symbol "tav" is depicted as two sticks crossing each other, thus forming a cross. The symbol predates the crucifix or the Christian portrayal of the cross, by hundreds of years.
One of the Michigan Artifacts depicts a solar eclipse and meteor shower. About 350 AD is a good fit for Nephites in Michigan. On the NASA website, there was a solar eclipse that went over southern Michigan and peaked over Lima, OH on 27 July 352 AD.
Really cool insights. Makes me think of the idea that the war in heaven continues on earth today and is manifested in the sort of conflicts we read about in the BOM. I also wonder if those Lamanites depicted are “casting arrows” or atlatls and the Nephites are “shooting arrows” with their bows. Anyways, good stuff!
James Talmadge said these are forgeries along with fairly recent agreements by an anthropologist for the LDS church. The artifacts were given to a history museum in Lansing, Michigan.

And they are both correct that frauds are found in this collection. Neither of them viewed the other collections which existed in 1910. And the symbols of these artifacts are found in other collections used in the same manner. I respectfully proclaim that these good men with good intentions were mistaken.

Please. It is not worth your well-intended efforts. There will never be a smoking gun to prove the Book of Mormon. Let’s just be content with the written testimonies of the Witnesses of the gold plates. I have my own spiritual witness of my heart and mind, that the Book of Mormon is true.
