Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 лют 2022
- In this video we show you how to pour a concrete foundation for houses, room additions, ADU's, or garages. The home owner did this DIY style and setup the foundation by himself with the help of his brother. We came in to fill it up with concrete and finish it. Don't forget to LIKE,SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE! Thank you all so very much for the support!

A home owner after my own heart. I'd love to see the final build out, should be a real gem.
Me too. Maybe I'll be back to do surrounding flatwork
Odell, you're a good guy letting the home owner help you out!
TY
free labor
@@JEK yeah but sometimes free labor equals bad labor.
@@californiahandball I'm sure he taught them how to do it properly. He has a video where someone wanted to learn how to do concrete and David taught him. Got free labor out of him in exchange for teaching. Worth it in my opinion.
@@genericwhitemale1114 True, I saw that video! Good for both, you learn and Odell gets another helping hand.
Wow, that homeowner is a perfectionist.
Love it!
Yes he is
What a treat of a vid! Thanks for showing us these cool projects and showing us new things. Hope your week is a great one

The Home owners being there and participating added a enjoyable element to this video. Good Tuesday evening video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, I thought that would be interesting

Glad your back

That rebar looks huge!! Excellent DIY Job.
Yes, I concur
TY 😊
Great job by you guys and the homeowner.
TY
That was a nice form work and rebar lay out! Pretty dang nice!
I thought so.

I encourage the image of involved and eager homeowner's skating it out on their knees trowel finishing while we seasoned pro's stand around watching him should be a trend, sir. lol
A rarely involved and willingly interested homeowner is always a welcome homeowner on the job.
Yes it's a good technique
Excellent video and great workmanship!
That was at least 3500psi!
Seemed like it, but I ordered 2500 psi
good job
Thank you! Cheers!
Those lemons look juicy! 🍋
Yes
I respect you were willing to do just the pour and finishing. Many guys I know would have told the homeowner all types of BS why they don't want the job. Which is basically sour grapes from making less from the job!
I don't worry about minor details, I just like to work whenever, wherever.

On the plus side, fresh lemons on the tree for iced Lemonades for all the hard work.
😅
Nice job. Would love to see the room addition.
Before/after
yes that would be a nice touch
Do you need any joints on the slab for an adu addition?
Like someone told me years ago building requirements bye respective cities are just minimum requirements so I guess make the concrete as thick as you want it you definitely have more patience than I would I don’t allow homeowners to work along side me
It's alot of fun
If possible in a future video could you talk about what concrete PSI is and what situations call for different PSI's? Thanks!
Sure
Im trying to save up to have that done. We are a family of 7 in a 3 bed 2 bath house and we have long outgrown the house but cant afford to move
Where to buy the steel stakes online?
I’m looking for the CHEAPEST foundation for a slab home in California. Can you use fiberglass rebar instead of iron?
very good job!
by the way...It's summer there? Here South Korea is Winter now.
technically its winter but in California we have nice weather year-round
Great work. Does the concrete have to be pour thicker if the structure is gonna be a 2 story as opposed to a 1 story?
Yes where ever its load bearing
Wow that's a great idea. Never thought to put a wood stamping on the side
Nice look, now for a little staining and sealing
If you have your mother in law or mom living with you, you definitely need two kitchens in the house. 😂
I have two kitchens in mine too.
Great for holidays to
Not to mention some extra-heavy and thick sound-proofing! ;o)
The beard looks good on you 🙂
TY
using the vibrator on the footer feels like wild overkill lol but credit to the guy for getting into it
Getting it on OSS
Great job as always fellas. Did the home owner know you through your videos or from local word of mouth/advertising?

Just came across your channel. I'm curious why concrete driveways are expected to crack, but it seems like foundations aren't expected to?
All concrete cracks.
Foundations also have crack control cuts.
this foundation is small enough not to need cuts
👍
What height dobe should you have on a 4” slab with #3 rebars
good question
@@OdellCompleteConcrete what’s the answer?
Hey but you know you're the best because you were the man he contacted
A good way to look at it
TY
Great job and great video, but those lemons on that lemon tree look very tempting....I wonder if any went missing after the pour.
I wish
My daughter had a lemon aide stand yesterday
No kidding what a treat it must be to live in that kind of climate
You used the vibrator he left on the jobsite 😂 sorry it was too funny
🌹👍🏻
Is 2500 PSI standard for all of the work you do?
Yes, anything over is a bonus
kinda like using form liners, but w wood grain.
Alot of people sandblast wood to expose the grain
Matt risinger. Great vid.
That's the guy
🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
Where did he get the stake puller?
I don't know but it's a back saver
That was nice but I miss the 50% horsehair 50% nylon broom action.
A lot of people miss that tool
No vapor barrrier on the slab in middle
That yellow plastic goes all the way through with sand on top
@@OdellCompleteConcrete oh its cover with sand we leave it yellow
About how much did the homeowner save by doing the forms himself?
And dig out, rebar, plastic, sand bolts.
7500
How come the j bolts aren't 30" on center? They look too far apart.
6' is the maximum
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Must be a county thing.
Where I did my builds. It was 30 inches.
It's always for the mother in laws 😂
How much did the concrete cost? Plus labor?
3500
I’m guessing the homeowner has experience in this field? I’ve did a great job
Yes it looks like it
we would like to see the rest of that lemon tree.
Lots of lemons
That’s real nice work. It’s a shame it had to be covered up with concrete.
True
TY
The opposite of "That'll Do" and a Homeowners hand prints. ++1
Getting it done
A 4 slump?? Looks like 5 1/2 or so
Optical illusion
Why was the wall ripped up
To expose the exsiting slab and it all has to come down eventually
You should always vibrate the concrete anyway no matter what
Not with this mix
Were you slightly afraid of the plastic bursting and ruining the pour? 😬
It wouldn't have hurt if it did, I would have to add more concrete
Sometimes those kinds of people are great to work for and sometimes they are annoying and overbearing. They seemed pretty good to work for.
This is a good one
odell , are you mad the home owner watched another you tube channel?
No, I'm glad he did because I learned something new
@@OdellCompleteConcrete lol, im just messing with ya. hey, ive never seen you with a beard and you look like a different person. all good .
LOL do you charge extra for the lessons, or does it just give you and your guys a break? Not as easy as it looks getting out there on the pads...
Breaks are nice
This Prep looks better than the usual ones on this channel. You can see the investment when its your own project.
Yes, very well done
The owners brother needs a lot more Practice
That eyefish distortion of the camera makes this video a disaster.
Oss
How much was this ?
4500
good job
Thank you! Cheers!
