- This is a 4K cab view of the JR West Japan local line, the Kisuki Line from Shishido to Kisuki, which runs through a wonderful landscape that is the original landscape of Japan.
The Kisuki Line (木次線, Kisuki-sen) is a railway line in Japan operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). The 81.9 km (50.9 mi) line connects Shinji in Matsue, Shimane with Bingo Ochiai in Shōbara, Hiroshima.
The Kisuki Line is one of the local lines in danger of extinction, but the section between Shinji and Kisuki is in constant use and there are section trains, mainly in the morning and evening.

What I most enjoy about these videos is feeling eager to visit Japan's countryside someday... and not only the major tourist and historical mainstream hubs.
Thanks so much for this.
How lovely to see the Japanese countryside. More please!!
Diesel locomotives look heavy and dark for the smoke produced by diesel engine. But the one locomotive in the video has no overhead wire over it and no pantograph, I just noticed smoke coming out from it . That means it's a diesel locomotive.
But still looks so clean, light and modern . Wonderful 😊
Beautiful 👍👍👍
What are wonderful video showing the beautiful Japanese countryside.
Fabulous rail journey, such beautiful scenery. Thanks for filming this. 👍🏻👍🏻
such a pleasant way to end an evening. After a long hot day of yard work. Thank you for taking these video's. I like these small local rail lines. If I ever make it over to Japan. I'd love to ride some of these. I'd be kinda scared, since I understand so little of the language. So here I sit watching and dreaming.
A lot of the signs are in English, and the ticket kiosks also allow you to select a language. Super easy once you get the hang of it.
I need my relaxation time away from problems, thank you for these rail videos. Pure ASMR.💕🙏

Excellent video Aunz Railfan..

I enjoyed the great video.
The Bird-song at the start was pleasant as well. But yes, lovely scenery. 🇦🇺
It's notable that there is no graffiti, or rubbish at the stations. They get snow there? 15:40 looks like a snow plough, stored in the siding. 31:05 got an enthusiast or hippie there: Surfboard, Coca Cola sign, and an early VW van.
Such a beautiful landscape, I want to preserve it for future generations.
33:40 - Drivers test area. Of course, the rest of the video is quite nice. So many small rice fields with lots of waterworks.

This is such Lush, Green Countryside. So different from Australia.
You'll have to do this trip during Winter. It must be Magical with a nice even cover of Snow. ❤🇦🇺
It's a good comparison. Im in QLD, whichh as the same gauge track as Japan: 3'6" for local trains. The Shinkensin is Standard Gauge 4'8 1/2" Japan probably doesn't have the room for the over 10 000km of 3'6" QLD has.

FC from Thailand . I'm traindriver Thailand 😊
Awesome video!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. What type of camera do you use to film?
Everything is so lush and green! Here in western Canada my lawn is brown and dead. 😥
it rains a lot out there !!! LOL🥸
@@sellier-bellot22 it used to rain a LOT in British Columbia as well but the summers are WAY drier now.
@@GeoffSeeley sad to hear !!!🤔
Quite a jungle out there !!! LOL🙂
I love how close the trains are to the rail line!
The beginning of the video could be the beginning of a movie or something...
A+
👏👏👏😊👍
País maravilhoso.
Perhaps someone can explain why, on many bends, there is a length of track running along the outside rail? What purpose does this serve?
Replacement rails to be installed in the track later or they have been removed and not yet taken away.
I'm absolutely no expert here, but the rails are placed too consistently at sharp bends for this extra rail to be replacement rail awaiting removal. Also, the entrance to these pieces of track are splayed out slightly, suggesting that maybe there is an extra wheel (or similar) on the train that inserts itself between the extra rail and the track. In the UK on sharp bends these pieces of "check rail" -- which are designed to alleviate wear on the outer rail -- are placed INSIDE the track, i.e. inside the 4 foot 8.5 inch spaced rails. Maybe in the Japanese system they are place on the outside. This is a pretty good idea if you think about it, as it means that the OUTER rail is easily accessible to be replaced. Also, is this video of a 3 foot 6 gauge line? If so that might be another reason for having an outer, rather than inner, check rail. Just a thought.
@@davidjohnwagstaff1235I think we were looking at 2 different things here. The question referred to rails left to the side and not fastened down.
@@mrhydenotdrjekyll It does not. You answered the wrong question.
Vid played at 360p on android device is very grainy.
Sounds like a bus.
🇹🇷🇹🇷
19:42 what is the reason for that short stretch of closed road?
great countryside ride, thank you for sharing ;-)
