@@MarksShrimpTanks right at the end of this video yes. I lost years of work from my discus fish, about $30 000 of my facility here in South Africa. It's still hard to process and I got some shrimps as they provided me an emotional break from the trauma. I have since started watching your videos and you helped me so much through it all. So keep posting these fun videos, you are very entertaining.
Hi mark your videos of the blue dreams are too addictive and can’t hold back any longer.started a new tank for them and ordered 20 online sould be due in the next few days. 👍
I only do water changes for my plants (Florida well water). They go gang busters compared to using fertiliser. And for some reason my shrimp do better even though the before and after tests match.
Hey Mark! Happy new Year, beginner from S. Korea, Just a question, what are those glass cylinder thing on each tanks on the substrate? I think I heard you say its a filtration of some sort
Hello welcome to my you tube channel, I think I have a video for them that explains it better than I can here, Happy New Year. ua-cam.com/video/0QqyDKN-ABE/v-deo.html
Its for a few reasons, I get power cuts here and the shrimp climb into the powerhead , when the power comes back on they get killed.. with a sponge there is no moving parts so nothing happens to the shrimp, I also have 22 tanks so thats 22 less plugs I will have in the room and of course there is the power consumption, I think they are 4 watts each 4 x 25 is 100watts of power I will be saving.
a few reasons, they are death traps if you get powercuts and I get loads of them in a year where we live, second is the amount of plugs in use was getting to be a joke.
Hello, anyone had success keeping shrimp in a 2 gallon tank? I had mine for half a year now and no luck, still no babies I do weekly water change., got plants, moss, almond leaf, cholla and I feed every other day.
@@ellabrown100 Current temp is 21.6 celcius. As for the filter, it's a sponge filter and there are only snails with them, no fish. And yes, there are male and female shrimps.

Do crayfish swim around the tank like shrimp do? I've only seen them walk around.
I dont think I have ever seen mine swim.
Do you have a cheap 5 gallon tank and a light suggestions
Not really my friend I tend to buy direct from my local fish store or search for second hand stuff.
Are those Seed Shrimp around the Blue Dream near the 2:50 mark? I think I have them in my tank too. Do they give you problems killing young shrimp?
yes I have them in every tank.

Happy new year!
I was wondering if someone could tell me what substrate that is? I mean the light brown type you see at 7:28 for example.
That is called akadama soil my friend, its more commonly used as a bonsai soil.
Thank you!
Cheers Mark. Nice jumper
Thanks 👍
Do you think hair algae is beneficial? So many people try to remove it but it seems you cultivate it on purpose in a few tanks
shrimp will mostly eat biofilm which includes algae's so I like some in my tanks.
Opae Ula looks to de doing good When you make the floating air tube rings how do you join the ends?
its just airline connectors Dennis.
Happy New year Mark , great video

Mark, noticed you have massively reduced your subwassertang in the tanks. Why?.
Hello Tommy, I restarted all of my soft water tanks roughly 3 months ago so Its just to grow back again.
👍
How do i get so green walls with algae? I've tried up to 14h day with light and no success, i have active soil..
the slower your filtration runs the greener your tank will be :)
I only ran a sponge filter in my shrimp tank and it started to smell.

PAT MINI defective, that you remove almost all of them ?

@@MarksShrimpTanks Sounds fair, even the 22 less plugs to manage should be a great relief. Cheers
Happy new Year.
Stay Healthy and make a lot of Shrimps Mark.
Btw perfect start in the new year with a nice Fishroom tour from you.
Thank you Aqua Flo
why different soil for crystal shrimps ? and different for cherry shrimp
bee shrimp do better in acidic conditions, active soils lower the ph , stuff like sand and gravel dont. happy new year :)
Why you ve removed all the pat minis?
a few reasons, they are death traps if you get powercuts and I get loads of them in a year where we live, second is the amount of plugs in use was getting to be a joke.

How old is your tank Arvin?
What temp is your tank? Do you cover your filter intake? Are their any predators?
Most obvious... Do you have both genders? Lol
