Thanks for this, what a talented guy he was, "Something in the Air" is one of the greatest rockers of all time and still sounds fantastic today, all the work these talented guys put in seemingly not recognised enough at the time and now we see what was there all the time. RIP Speedy and others from the band, we can still listen and appreciate!
This guy had a connection to all of the groups that I liked back in the Day shame is that I don't recognise his name. Thanks to who makes these videos, I am gaining a lot of knowledge about bands and artists that I just took for granted before.Great work this.
Thanks Brendan 🥰 I was the same. I grew up hearing 'Something In The Air' nearly every day as my mother loved the song and always thought Speedy was Thunderclap Newman 😁 Always look forward to seeing you my friend 🤗
It's an amazing song! 💕 Think I heard it everyday growing up as my mum had the single and thrashed it lol 😂 Sadly not much about the singer online so really had to dig deep to make a small bio on him. So happy you enjoyed it Jayne and thank you ❤️🥰
Tragic end. Something in the Air was a classic. It just made me want to dance and I never could dance! The piano solo was outstanding. I was playing guitar in bands myself in that period.
I could never understand the third verse of “something in the air.” Then, years later, I realized that everything is on the internet now. It turns out that it’s the only radio hit that I know of that calls for open revolution. John Lennon asked if you really want a revolution in his song on the white album. Speedy answers “yes.”
Thanks evil eyes 💗 56 is young, such a shame his career didn't take off like he wanted or deserved 😓💔 At least through his amazing song he will always be remembered 🥰
In Evanston-just North of Chicago-I searched for "Something in the air i" for years and then one day I found a sealed unused copy of the whole album. Shortly after the song started popping up. But most fondly in Kingpin, the bowling comedy.
Classic music. And yet another musician I thought was American! I’ve noticed how many suggestions you’re getting, I’m so pleased to see how you’re getting recognition for your excellent work! I have a suggestion too…Warren Zevon. Whatever artists you choose are assured of a wonderful tribute. Thank you my friend!🤗
It seems like, with all his obvious talent...his friend Pete Townsend would have helped in promoting him more? Maybe they drifted apart, because of everything the Who was working on at that time. "Something in the Air" was a splashy start.
I just recently listened to the band as it kept coming up in my recommendations, and I quite like that song. It's honestly right with something in the air, but it is a little long is all.

Pete was consumed with Tommy and then the tour to promote Tommy. It was make or break for The Who and Track Records had issues.
