Bush deserves to be in the conversation when talking about great bands from the grunge era. They have a couple of hits and I’m sure they’re well off, but they don’t get the recognition they deserve from the general grunge community. Why is that? Because they came up after Nirvana went down?
Also, always thought this was their best song. Cool to see they thought so too (I’m assume, since they picked it for their first TV appearance). They did pretty good, all things considered. Great late night debut.
Technically, this was their lead single and about 3 months after Sixteen Stone’s release. I do agree it is one of the songs off the album, but this was all they could play at this point because they were trying to keep the momentum building. “Little Things” came out a month or so later, followed by “Comedown” - “Glycerine” - and “Machinehead” in 1996
@@MetalHeadsProduction arguably alien and body from SS also could have been singles... Swallowed, Greedy Fly, and Cold Contagious from RS.. .Mouth from Deconstructed and Chemicals and Letting the Cables Sleep from Science.. they have a ton of hits...
I prefer when live performances have imperfections like being “out of tune”. They sounded great and it adds so much character to them as a band and to the music.
@@the_real_MarcGyver TY 4 sharing. Take care. I got see these guys first time Las Vegas, June 95. I just turned 18. Friend & I taking road trip fr KC to LA. It was by pure chance they were playing in Vegas night we were there. No one heard them yet
Yes because he was rising to fame at this point. He openly admitted record labels viewed his voice as a weakness early on. This is very early days of the bands fame. He also openly admits he would get nervous and couldn’t even look at the crowd before the show most of the times. He’s nervous and probably also felt performance anxiety
Also inflections in his vocals... the ending was kind of a serve the servants type thing. A ton of people were influenced by nirvana back then, so no surprise.
@@chrisgunnels7886 maybe Google them? They were one of the original Grunge type bands from the late 80s. Tons of their music available to you on UA-cam
I'd have to see that as a cited quote, because I highly doubt it. I saw Bush, Toadies, and Hum on that tour, and Vaden (Toadies' lead singer) praised Bush a few times through their set.
Well they were considered pretty big posers at the time. They were like a 5th generation grunge ripoff band. But honestly hearing them now they don't sound nearly as bad to me as they did at the time.
@@ImaginalComponent I don't recall Smells Like Teen Spirit having slide guitar in it... 🤔 I'd have loved to hear Kurt try to play slide. Motherfucker could barely string four chords together in time. 🤣 Do you Nirvana hipsters ever give up? I mean... Kurt's been dead for almost 30 years, man. Nirvana was probably the least technically talented bands to come out of Seattle or out of the entire 90's decade. I mean... The drummer was actually the only truly talented guitar player and vocalist of them all...and he didn't even do that shit in that band, and he's even said he's the one of the most basic drummers of all time.
My senior year of high school.
One of my favorite albums of all-time.

90’s legends
This song got my attention immediately. Jumped at the chance to see them in Philly. My friend was thrilled to go along.😊
This is such a fun song to play on guitar
Love Gavin's guitar tone here.
Exceptional instrumentalists!
I miss the 90s
I want that Tshirt so bad

Me too and a hoodie
Agreed
He'd prolly be cancelled and called a sexist right wing nazi for wearing that these days
Euphonious 🤘
Slide guitar is killer
Nice shirit Gavin...
Drummer nailed it, ya the rest as well
Bush at their height. Great band. Any dude don’t think so? Jealous of Gavin’s looks
Not me, hair to my ass biker looking not college kid looking.
@@grindfreakmike5754 sounds qu33r to me bro. Oh well😮
Gavin is still so hot, if I were a dude, I'd be jealous too.

Why did Nigel leave?
To focus on family
So out of tune for moments, still great

Imperfections are a main element in live grunge

Outstanding.
Not I look up sometimes
Gets the verses wrong
While i loved their music, never thought Gavin sounded good live. Never looked comfy playing guitar n singing
Te sugiero que busques a Bush en concierto de woodstok1999 es epico
Is this a Nirvana tribute band?
Do they sound alike? I guess they both have distorted guitars
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkk

is this a stupid comment?
🙄🤪
The Toadies toured with Bush and couldn't stand them. I think they claimed they were arrogant, humorless, self important jerks
I can believe it, at the same time they were basically kids. I watched them at rock am ring 2022 and it was awesome!
Who are the Toadies?

Yup. Posers, sadly. I was si needy for filling Kurt’s gap that I let them slip with the second album. Watching this in retrospective, blatantly weak.
This is prob what I look like when I play in public
I was mesmerised in the 90s, but now it sounds rubbish
strange singing and frontman
Really seems like he was forcing an American accent, when they’re a British band.

Gavin Cobain... Freak fake
This band was for kids who didn’t know anything about music.
