The engineer was really good at explaining the tech. Definitely not a marketing type but wore both hats very well.
Agreed. He's actually the marketing rep but you can recognise how involved he is with the production and engineering of the products, it's always a huge bonus when the contact actually knows the ins and outs of the technology/product. This was only a brief run through of the tech, he could have gone a lot more detailed too.

I'm already planned out my next PC build and thanks to your coverage of Noctua's new fans that apparently none of the bigger tech UA-camrs (in the context of subscriber count) even bothered covering, I think I will wait a little longer just to include at least one of these fans in my build. Thanks for the coverage, from a new subber.
When noctua bring out a product you know its going to be the best-of-the-best-no-compromise line. Typically German/ Austrian!

hmnn, the fan looks so bad ass. im liking it too. i might buy it to replace the stock fan i got from buying a dh-15. actually im using only one fan from the dh-15 although it has two because when i use the other fan, my pc is way too noisy. so i only use one and removed the other fan and not using it.
ahhh yes german products I love over engineered unreliable products like the BWM,audi and benz you always seen sold used for 15k with only 58K miles on it.
Do we know when these fans are going to be purchasable? Or have they not released a statement on that yet?
I will too for processor cooling, for airflow in your computer case you'll want different fans, but they can be noctua too if you want.
Superb video. Nice to hear from someone who has lots of knowledge about the company and the products compared to all other videos where they just talk and show you products, like most sales people. Exactly - he doesn't just throw out marketing terms. A careful explanation of the engineering process demonstrates how involved he is with the actual product being developed.
I hope they come out with a 140mm version. Like to have these on my D-15. Thank you for covering this, been looking for it.

Since lots of folks are asking about when these fans will launch, we've been in touch with Noctua - they estimate September/October 2017.
Vortez he is talking about the 120mm Version only. So when do they expect to release a 140mm Version? in 4 years? xD (but still curious about availability )
If you can put 3 120mm fans or 2 140mm as front intake, which would you rather have?
but it isn't out yet, is it?

I messaged them early October they said and I'm literally quoting here "We aim to release it in about a month from now."
So early November had passed and of course nothing happened. :(
At this rate the new fans will launch in early 2018... if we are lucky that is...

JUST PLEASE Noctua ! make it fully black, this is by far the best fan on the market, but this color clashes with any pc build :/

I do understand Injection Molding and have made a few. Four years is too long.
Here's what 4 seconds Googling got me: www.hortonww.com/on-highway/fans/molded-ring-fans.html - at 1:34 he says they are worried about creep, over half a dozen years, the 'Ring Design' prevents that and with additional modifications can deal with the minute slippage.
It misses a few other features but I'm not going to design it for them. It's OK but don't charge us for your excessively slow research (and beige/brown color scheme).

Vortez, great video. The title said it all. And i feel u. What is Noctua doing over these years? Enthusiast are moving toward water cooling. PC lover's pampered by RGB product. N u spent 4 yrs just to make that 0,5mm gap work, with fancy plastic? How many degree Celcius cooler does it make? In the end, it looks like EK Vardar. And somebody already mentioned above, change the colour. Just catch up, market is changing. Peace.
3 years of testing for a fan, I can only imagine how long the testing will be for an AIO, But I'll patiently wait NOCTUA.
Quality over quantity
david doyle Noctua will NEVER make an aio. Their priorities are silence, performance and durability, which they have already mastered.

that is not quite trrue what noctua is saying.... there actually is a fan with even tighter spacing, the antec true quiet pro 120 which has allready been out for several years now!
Emmmmm... The fan that you've mentioned has its blades integrated with the frame, so they spin together (the blades AND the frame).
Microwilli Well yes, kinda, the back of the frame has a much larger air gap than the Noctua has tip to frame.
So even if the Antec has no gap at the tip, it still has a 1.5mm gap all the way around based on the photos I can find.
Did they model the color of the noctua fans by his hair?
So are these out now? I see one on their web site, but it looks completely differnet... its like a slim fan thing. Are these out yet?

these fans are oriented for server applications and high airflow environments where "aesthetics" dont matter
But would that market care if they was black? You should go neutral to maximise sales regardless who wants them. This is nothing more than pure arrogance from Noctua. I literally can't give them my money, where is the logic in that.
also black fans will be released (from there normal lineup) in the chromax line (with colored cables)
You only need noctua fans on your radiator, you don't need them on your case. In which case, you will never see them.
Black versions for their normal 120mm and 140mm fan lineups will release in September this year.

Why does everything they make have to be beige and brown? It just looks dated and kind of ugly compared to just making the components black.

no man, i bought a dh-15. it comes with two fans. if i use two fans, its super noisy like that stock cooling from from AMD. honest. i have to remove one and only use one.
4 years of develpment for a fan and they are not able to give them some color that fit in every build. everybody knows that their fans are by far the best but they look ugly and the most of the buyers watch for estetics today

Sorry Noctua but I'm not pretentious enoug to use your overly developed air pushers.
+YonOtto maybe but they'll be much louder than premium fans. Even without rgb, premium Corsair/NZXT fans are ~£20 each
YonOtto noctua is quality, the accessories that come in the box themselves are twice as valuable as flashy lights.
YonOtto Except the Noctua will run vastly more quiet while pushing almost as much air as all three of the Corsair fans by itself.
If you have an InWin case with only a few fan mounts like I have, Noctua fans are a godsend.
