Interesting bike. One thing I did notice in all the shots was the rider hiding down on the tank behind the screen. Reminded me of that thing that gets done when something is underpowered.
Shall let you know if it's underpowered when we get to ride one, but initial impression for me is, that at 95HP I don't think it will be.
@@BikerTorque yep just unusually staged pics. Looks like it’s being marketed to the younger set
@@identitybiker I think that is more than likely spot on
Beautiful looking bike x
Great review Ross, you have such a soothing voice!
Glad you enjoyed it
soothing voice, but a head for radio, lol
I'm just glad it's coming in a full power variant. Too many nice middleweights are purely LAMs in this country. I think semi-adjustable suspension and a slightly higher price would have nicely differentiated the Daytona 660 from the GSX8R and done justice to the Daytona name, although I guess it does have more ponies... Looking forward to some first ride impressions to get a better idea of the ergonomics.
agree, great that there will be a full power and LAMS variants, and easy to upgrade if you buy the LAMS. Yes, some sort of adjustment in suspension would have made it a very appealing bike. Thanks for watching.
It will be interesting to see what it looks like in the flesh.
Pricing point sounds quite competitive vs the Japanese bikes of similar capacity.
I was disappointed with how cheap the Aprilia bikes look , up close. Was looking for a sports bike , but not a V4 or inline four at 30-40K. Ended up with a Panigale V2 and I’m really happy with it.
Yeah, can’t wait to see it up close when we get a chance. Interestingly we are picking up as Panigale V2 Bayliss this Thursday to cruise around on for a few weeks, that should be fun.
Riding well be the proof, but this may be a brilliant move for Triumph! The last 675 Daytona was a wonderful expensive bike that didn't sell well. However, a 10k sport bike may sell in the numbers they need. In the past, Triumph has gotten a lot out of modest components with careful tuning and development. If that's the case here, it may be what the market needs. The first Daytona was a 500cc twin that was overshadowed by the 650 twin - but the 500 won the race the bike was named after
It's amazing just how much pricing can make such a difference in the success of a bike. Can't wait to see if Triumph's new strategy pays off! At first glance I reckon they are onto a winner
Looks great but has to have a yellow model. Maybe that will be for the street triple powered version.
That would be the goods.
Looks like a great bike. Perfect bike for starting out. Being able to increase the power later on so there is no need to update right after you get a full licence. Good to see it can be reverted back to a LAMS spec. But not sure if this might be an issue with the local LAMS rules and police. I expect an RS version with updated suspension later in the year.
Can’t see why reverting back to full power after LAMS would be an issue if it’s done by Triumph, plus if you buy it as a LAMS, not issue, as long as you are fully licensed when it is spec’s up to full power. Totally agree, a Daytona RS is likely on the way, hopefully with the Street Triple engine, winner winner, chicken dinner.
@@BikerTorque I recall the Hyosung 650 was Lams approved and could be converted to full power. Once this was done, it lost its LAMS rating and could not be legally converted back. Most people did not officially get the conversion done as the bike was more valuable as a LAMS bike. That was quite a while ago. So the rules have most likely changed. Computers make increasing the power much easier. I think the Hyosung was a mechanical restriction in the carby too.
Love a triple
You are not alone
I like❤ good luck Daytona....thanks for video...I like you
Thanks for watching!
It’s a great looking bike. And how good is it you can learn on this bike and then open up its full potential once you qualify 😎👌 Jury is out on using the Daytona name, I hope it’s not a marketing ploy that damages the brand 🤞🏻
Agree, it is a good looking bike, it would be fun to scream around Tassie on that. I think using the Daytona name is very much a marketing ploy, but doubt it will damage the brand, because the bike does seem like a quality unit.
