This non event first ride is a testament to Cappel ground work. Everything he does is with a purpose and timing. He also ensures it transfers to the saddle. Even though no one had ridden her before, the experience and feel she had wasn’t foreign making it easier for her to accept. This horse in two weeks went from a filly who won’t let you pick up her feet and wants to fight, to a horse who is understood, accepting, and looking to try. Beautiful work Mr. Cappel!

Great informative video Dennis and well done Jonathan for the good riding. I kept picturing myself as Jonathan riding and taking the direction! That would be great! Everything makes sense to me with what you’re doing Dennis and I really like that you talk through every step.
getting nice forward motion in a rhythm out of the turns really encouraged a nice little trot! Well done Jonathan. I also want to add I had a great giggle at the start of your video when you said ‘like a turkey looking over a log!!’ 😂🦃 I had a comical mental picture ! So funny 😆

Great knowledge you give!!! I couldn't ever imagine that such a small roundpen can be so useful!!! Please, tell some words about it!! Thanks!!

The small pen is a tool that I use for the first ride or two only . It allows me to establish leadership of the horse . I don’t stay in the small pen to long though because it will cause the horse to become comfortable inside it and they get fearful outside ode it . So the small pen is a stepping stone just like the driving a tool to be used when needed but certainly not an all the time tool
