I love this piece so so much!!! It all works from the addition of rollered pattern, colors on the carved details applied with a knife, dark wax for dimension, and finally to the upcycled drawer pulls. What a feast for the eyes!

I am self taught. I’ve been painting a long time so a lot of it is just experimenting and learning as I go. Of course I pick up bits and pieces of technique or product info from other artists.

Thank you. I’ve had that stain pad forever but you should be able to find those at any big box hardware store. I believe mine is a lamb skin staining pad

So is that water in your spray bottle and do you let each spot that you paint dry and then go back over?
Yes it is just water. I let everything dry before going back in for the second coat. I’m not sure if I answered your question
Is this chalk paint your working with considering the wax application results
DIY Paint is a clay based paint. It is similar to a chalk paint.

I use an air dry clay. Typically either the IOD brand or Creative Paper Clay

I completely agree my work isn’t for everybody. With all of my videos I try to provide education or exposure to new techniques or tools. It’s more important for me to expose viewers to something new or different than to make something for others to produce an exact copy. I’m so happy you liked the tutorial aspect over the outcome.
