I am basically traditional in many ways including painting, but from this video, I had a change of heart to enjoy and appreciate this style of yours with a more bold and daring look. I love this piece and enjoyed watching your color blending techniques and use of color in a revealing way of exposing multi layers of beautiful transitions. I am new to your channel and am so pleased to have a new inspiration in my endeavors. This piece is really striking and full of life. I enjoy your work ever so much and thank you!
You did it!!! Slightly different ratios, more yellow, less hot pink, but you made it colorful and vibrant! Yay!!! I have some wall decor plaques i might use to follow your process. It's fun to use wild colors!!!
It turned out beautifully. I love that you admit when it's not turning out the way you had envisioned. You tweak it a bit and violà, it's a masterpiece!
I love this piece so so much!!! It all works from the addition of rollered pattern, colors on the carved details applied with a knife, dark wax for dimension, and finally to the upcycled drawer pulls. What a feast for the eyes!
So glad I watched this video for a second time, it was so inspiring. I absolutely love this piece, I love most all of the pieces you create. Made my Sunday morning very uplifting.
I am self taught. I’ve been painting a long time so a lot of it is just experimenting and learning as I go. Of course I pick up bits and pieces of technique or product info from other artists.
Honestly, your talent blows my mind. And thank you for always saying to trust the process. I doubt myself all the time & then once a project is completed it turns out...sometimes not what I wanted but sometimes better! Thank you for sharing your process...I'm learning so much❤❤❤
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind comment. You’re right about outcomes- may not always be what we set out to do but leaning into the process and letting things unfold yields positive results. 😄
I really enjoyed your honesty in this video, its not often we hear the doubts of the artists as they create the wonderful pieces we see. I have been there myself & I like to see the true struggle develop ibto a final work we are proud of! This turned out really gorgeous! a spectacular piece of art... & I hope my buffet im planning on transforming soon turns out anywhere near as good.
@@JunkdUp You and Jami Ray inspire me. I especially love the closeups. The brush strokes, layers and colors that should fight each other for top billing instead come together in a fantastic way.
Thank you. I’ve had that stain pad forever but you should be able to find those at any big box hardware store. I believe mine is a lamb skin staining pad
Absolutely stunning! I love the vibrant colours - they are so uplifting. Makes me feel good just looking at this piece💥😊 . you did a wonderful job 💐...........just the music is madly irritating, I had to turn the volume off 😣
@@prettylagoon make sure your table top is clean and free of any grease, spills, etc. if you are using a chalk or mineral style paint you can start painting. You can either just start splattering your choose of colors or you can paint a solid color first and then splatter on top of that. If you are using a latex or acrylic paint you’ll have to use a primer first. And then I would paint a solid coat of paint onto which you can splatter. You’ll want to seal everything once you are happy with the design. This goes for any kind of paint. To splatter you can use cheap bushes. Thin the paint with a little water (make sure to use a water based paint) to loosen it up and make splattering easier. Just flick the brush using your wrist in different directions. I have a video where I use a splatter technique although it’s not a tabletop. I’ll drop the link below
I completely agree my work isn’t for everybody. With all of my videos I try to provide education or exposure to new techniques or tools. It’s more important for me to expose viewers to something new or different than to make something for others to produce an exact copy. I’m so happy you liked the tutorial aspect over the outcome. That’s my goal!! ❤️

Thanks so much Amber.
But have you ever experienced “Thunder snowing” 😅 I’ve only seen it once but it was Wild lol

"Snaining"! 😂😂
So is that water in your spray bottle and do you let each spot that you paint dry and then go back over?
Yes it is just water. I let everything dry before going back in for the second coat. I’m not sure if I answered your question
Is this chalk paint your working with considering the wax application results
DIY Paint is a clay based paint. It is similar to a chalk paint.
Absolutely stunning! I love the vibrant colours - they are so uplifting. Makes me feel good just looking at this piece💥😊 . you did a wonderful job 💐...........just the music is madly irritating, I had to turn the volume off 😣

What did you use For clay in the mold
I use an air dry clay. Typically either the IOD brand or Creative Paper Clay
