- In this video we fix a trash picked LG WT1101CW washing machine for $2! When we got it, the drain motor ran constantly. It needed a control board, but in reality, a $2 component on the board was bad. We swapped that component out and it ran perfectly!
The part we replaced in this video is: OMIH-SH-112LM, 394
It is available on Amazon: amzn.to/3ETwp46 and on Digikey: www.digikey.com/short/rjbz7bd3 - Навчання та стиль
Thanks much. Just ordered a couple of these relays from Digikey ($2.47/ea. nowadays, plus S&H) which is a LOT less $$ than a replacement board ($159, ebay is cheapest).
Nice you just saved a problem I had. Same relay issue.
Thanks for the video. I couldn’t figure out how to get to the main board. You saved me a lot of time haha! I wouldn’t of ever thought of sliding the control panel to the left after removing the top two front screws.
Yeah it was a bit of a head scratcher for me as well for a little while :-)
Awesome video!! But next time, let the washer finish the cycle. The drain pump is meant to stay on for a little while to make sure there is no water in the drum. I have this same washer for almost 10 years now, and it's still going strong!
The water may not drain if the relay is bad. I have the Sam e washer with the same problem. My tub is full of water, it won't drain because the relay is bad. Total PITA to do this job.
@@larryzielinski7067 please help I am trying to find out what’s going on with mine it will not drain and the water just starts to leak sounds like you know what you’re talking about would appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.
A lot of parts houses do not like to sell individual board components if they have them as the (plug and pray) mainboard is much easier and of course there is the 🤑 factor.
Individual parts for the electronics are usually restricted to recall notice concerns.
Oh yeah for sure - I ordered these from Digikey, one of the largest/most trusted electronics suppliers in the USA.
First off, great video. I’m thinking those two long screws in the front panel area you removed to obtain the control panel would also have to be removed (along w/the washer lid) to replace those two plastic hinges. Thoughts?
Love the AvE reference.
Do you know how to open the top to check if anything is caught between the drums? Mine is acting up where it'll throw and unbalance code and it's not. And now it'll shut off and give the all done melody but the bottom stops and the sides keep spinning like crazy.
Thank you! you were very helpful thank you!!!!
Glad it helped!
My liquid detergent runs through as soon as I put it in. How do I order a new dispenser
What part controls the balance ue codes.
They should make this washer have an agitator too.
Same problem, pump continues to run. Tried tapping relay, no effect. Purchased new board, $150, no effect. Any ideas?
if my machine has no power and isn't showing any sign of power on while plugged should the first thing to do is check the power inlay and noise filter?
Does anyone have suggestions on how to replace the lid on this type of LG washing machine? It’s works fine, just my son tried to open the locked lid before ‘pausing’ the cycle first. I wonder if it’s even worth trying to replace, it’s several years old but in excellent condition, no issues. If I can replace the lid at a reasonable price, I may be willing to do that
Can you help me please I have that same model and the water is only coming out hot no cold water in any way
New subscriber here. I have this washer and it keeps filling the entire drum with water with even a small load of clothes. When it spins it makes a rattling noise.I believe the washer pumps correctly as it drains properly. Any advice?
Hey Joe, how do you access the exterior of the drum? I have that front panel and I can’t find videos for that. I washed a bean bag and it burst open and the pellets keep appearing.
Have you ever had to replace a Door lock switch assembly? I got that neat task to do once my OEM part comes in next week, I came to this video because I have a similar LG model. Should be fun, I liked the content on this channel.👌
Thanks for the compliment! No I haven't had to replace that part yet. Curious to hear how it goes!
We have the exact same model as in the video and we have had repeated problems with the door lock switch. I’m trying to see if there’s a way I can figure out how to bypass the switch.
Good job like the rain bow by god not man
Great video. Can you explain how you separated the two halves of the control board? Those clips are so tight I’m afraid to break them. Thanks
Never mind. I had to wedge a bigger screwdriver between the two casings near each clip one at a time while using a guitar pick to wedge under and slightly push up on the clip. Then the clip would snap open.
I have one and what a hunk of junk. The fill valves stuck open and flooded the floor. The main problem is that it gets stuck in a re-balance/spin cycle loop. You have to babysit the end of every load.
I've been working on lgs for 5 years And what aggravates me is they silicone seal their boards like that. I just end up ordering a new control board sadly.
dE means door error.
Didn't get to see how you removed relay from bottom panel?did you drill out connections
Nope used a solder sucker. Get the connections hot enough to melt the solder then use solder sucker
I own this same model and mine just stopped working won’t even turn on
Do you have a link to the relay that you purchased?
Sorry for the late response - there should be links in the description. If they are not working, let me know!
Joe, where do you get the relay for $2. All the places i call want to sell the entire control board, thanks
I believe I bought it from digikey.
Do you think this would work for a drain pump that won’t turn on? I have replaced the pump already, my next option is the control panel.
If the coil in the relay that drives the drain pump has failed, or the relay contacts have somehow failed open, then yes, this repair should work. If there is a problem in the circuitry that drives the relay coil, then you will probably need a new control board.
I’m having an issue where my washer won’t drain. So I removed the pump and gave it 120V and it ran no problem. So do you think it’s safe to guess that it needs a new control board?
@@brianellixson7947exact same problem with mine. I actually bought a new pump thinking it would be an easy fix and it still throws the 0E code and won't drain.
Hey, Joe's Garage.
After replacing the relay, did you ever have another issue with the pump motor staying on? I replaced the same relay and determined (I think) that this relay is not the pump motor relay at all. Just wondering.
Sorry, I sold the washing machine.
@@JoesGarageProductionsLLC Thanks for responding.
How to remove the DE Error my LG washing machine
your lid lock mechanism may be faulty. remove two screws in front, then lift the whole top section as high as you can, unti is underneath, right side, wired into the main wire bundle with a spring clip....cheap.
could you've broke the relay from the top carefully, left the four wires and soldered the new relays for pins to the old relay's, now free standing, four pints.
Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely to succeed? Probably not. It's pretty tight quarters to do soldering and it's probable that one of the leads would have broken off or damaged the board while trying to remove it.
