The whole reason I refuse to put a lift on my truck. I don't have any "Zachs" in my life and I've seen some of the work around here and I'm not too impressed
I work at a custom shop and man some of the stuff I see come through is just ridiculous
Just install it yourself
If you can get access to a garage or do it in the summer doing it yourself is not that hard, just have some extra money aside so as you're going through you can upgrade other things you see while doing the lift
You can just do it yourself if you don’t trust others lol. That’s what I did, and I had to do a bunch of custom stuff since I’m the only person in the world that has my setup. It’s 100% possible with enough research.
19:19 It’s not always good to blast people or shops on social media for things because things happen. But in this case people need to be warned of whoever did this lift kit just from a safety stand point. If they did it once they will do it again

This is what I liked about the BDS lift I put on my truck 10 years or so ago. It was a 6", but it had room to go higher and the factory geometry was pretty close once it was installed. That's really important on an IFS truck. My truck rides great (still have it all these years later) and looks great. Way more money (at that time) but was the right choice.
I think that guy needs to take a lot of pictures of the hack job the other people did on that lift kit and how they nearly ruined his truck.
Then he should tell them unless they give him his money back he's going to post the pictures online.
Ryan, you should do a video of Zach explaining how he does his alignments by hand for the crazy builds he works on.
You can trickle charge each battery separately that’s what I have to do after the winter when mine sit for 4months without use

12:07 ignore the bolt- the brake lines is completely stretched.
The extend stainless brake lines are under $100 and none of theses companies even bother to sell them, or suggest them. Just send people out the door with a 2” drop bracket and hope the line doesn’t fail.

The Kryptonite leveling kit rides better than stock. The CV angles are not terrible and the truck drives great. I have the stage 3 leveling kit on my 2019 with the sway bar extensions.
I did a level kit and I have been happy with it. I guess I don’t 4 wheel much though

(GOLF CART) I did the same thing with my ezgo. Each battery has to have at least 6 volts each. I had to charge my batteries individually and saved them. Love your vids. Good Luck

For sure. I'm saying that each 8v battery needs at least 6v in them for the golf cart charger to work. At least that is what my g cart charger needs to work

Make sure the water in all the golf cart batteries are full. Disconnect all the wires on the batteries and put each individual one on a trickle charger for a few minutes then connect all the wires back and plug it in like normal to charge and it should get it going
I wish I afford a lift kit for my 2 gen Ram 3500 ..,... Always, always majorly saving my life motivational to me......
You need to charge each battery individually the plug the charger in make sure there’s water in each battery
You can independently charge each battery with a car charger for about 2 mins and then they will have enough juice for your golf car charger to work.
What about ready lift?
You truck the batteries into charging. Just it takes a very slow deep charge and doing each ine individually. Had to do it to my batteries in my golfcart. They have been fine since afterwards.
picked up a 2500hd with a tuff country lift on it, seller didn't know the lift size but thinks it's 6inch.
My cv angles are pretty close to factory, i have no clue what year it was bought. The boots on my front shocks are all squished. Man I wish I had bought a stock truck even though it's not bad - but I hear no positives about lift kits so it scars me. My crossmember drop from bolt to bolt that you mentioned is 4", so if it's a 6" lift..it's maxed out huh

You need to jump the golf cart battery's with the charger plugged in. I had this same exact thing happen a few weeks ago. Now it takes a charge

The charger needs to see a certin voltage to charge you have 6 8volt just charge each battety with a 12 volt for 5 to 10 min then plug in the vart charger it will pick it up ,

golf cart chargers have to have enough juice in the batteries to kick them on. You need another 48 volt golf cart to jump it off with to get the charger to kick on
Ryan, you can save them golf cart batteries. Oreillys/Napa sells battery acid in a box for like $13. All you gotta do is look up a UA-cam video on it. I have saved 1000s doing this.

Like you said Ryan, you Gotta do research on the kids, but I think as well he should win cheaper like a rough country and then later upgraded to the more expensive lift kit. I mean rough country going to get the job done make you look good and probably be more true to the size it says online then whatever he got

How did that jack feel lifting those big trucks.
One reason most customers don’t want to go to a 4” lift kit or higher is because they don’t want to cut cross member’s where they are not reversible
Some trucks yes, 11-19 & 2020+ trucks can have the crossmember bolted back in, drop the cut off pieces in place & weld.
That one crossmember is there for lateral support but do not need to be there. I know from experience.
Cost of parts & labor is much cheaper on a leveling kit if you think you may go back to stock, i can agree with that
I sell batteries what you can do is have a 12v battery charger. Than you are going to get connectors to connect the batteries. You are going to go from pos to neg pos neg etc. you should have two open spots obviously pos and neg. Leave them overnight and than it should work. The reason you connect them because than it technically makes the battery a 12V you should be at 6.30 volts but you are good at 6.26 too
I don’t get why your batteries die. I can leave my jeep out -12c for a month and it starts right up

I put a “budget” 3 inch lift on my ram 1500 and it rode like monkey shit. I got the kit with the pre loaded lift struts and upper control arms and all the blah blah blah. Took it off recently and my god it’s night and day. Point of this is to just save your $ and get a premium lift.

I like everything they did here, except the steering drop for that lift. Not the kryptonite stuff, thats good. But lifts that use a drop center link are junk. You're adding lever length to your Pitman and idler which are already junk in these trucks.
What would you prefer? My 14” bulletproof lift has a similar setup (but beffier) and it’s been rock solid
@DMAXRYNO ok I guess I should clarify. There is no "good" solution on something as big as a 14" kit. There is going to be a compromise to go that tall. But doing a 6" I prefer something with a knuckle that locates the tie rod higher up. Still keeps the linkage straight and doesn't have heim joints to fail. I'm not saying it's absolutely the wrong way of doing that, but I've been doing lifts for 15 years and I've seen alot of those come in with broken or worn heims and loose Pitman and idler and the steering is all over the place. But if you eliminate that drop the Pitman and idler will last longer and 50% of the moving parts to fail.
My 05 suburban is like that. The owners before me through in this cheap ass 3 inch lift kid with spacers in the back and in the front really nothing. I believe it just has torsion keys that are jacked up. Anyways mine is AWD and the front end feels very loose and sloppy and I’ve replaced everything. My cv axles are at a shitty angle. The only thing is that it’s on 20s and idk if they will clear if I drop that lift off. I know they will fit it’s more about how much will they run when turning.

I guess I'm the only guy wondering why the owner chose cv joints instead of buying a 4 wheel drive front axle. If he plans on wheeling this truck he should bring a extra set of cv joints
