Bro I was legitimately sad when I saw gamemodes like a Castle Siege, Super Smash Mobs, Dragons and Dominate were either removed or lacking enough players to play. I played these games on Mineplex almost every day with my friends in middle school. We especially loved playing the skeleton, creeper and chicken classes on Super Smash Mobs. Even though they were just games, it is saddening to see something you treasured greatly be reduced to a shadow of its former self.
My friends and I would play dragons like everyday after school in middle school. We logged on to play again a month ago for the first time in years, and found that dragons and almost all of our favorite games were gone or had no one to play them.
I am ex-mineplex staff. My personal account is very inline with the treatment of these games. Gem Hunters was my favorite game and it became severely neglected. I asked for a Gem Hunters team or a subteam for the unique problems the game faced (similar to clans). I offered numerous times to work with the development team and connect active players like myself to express their problems. All of my ideas were either ridiculed or ignored multiple times. Another game that had potential, but Mineplex failed to adapt to change it.
That was also one of my favorite games when I used to play Mineplex. I recently tried logging back into Mineplex to play the games I liked and almost every one had been removed
As a Gem Hunters cheater, the game was bugged big time, it was unplayable on EU servers, there was dupe glitches out the wazoo and you could get ranks as a reward, I dupped the fuck out of them so you can guess my rank on my main, and the anticheat was total crap and did not care that you had 100 previous banned accounts on the same IP, it was really retarded.
Oh my god, I miss Castle Siege so much. I'd get home from school every day and immediately start playing until I had to get off. It was my absolute FAVOURITE. When it started losing players, I was willing to wait hours in que just to play a few rounds. I loved it so much. When it was finally removed, I was genuinely so sad. I still miss it a lot, even years later.
i used to play super smash mobs obsessively a few years back. i really enjoyed it and decided to try it again last year. the community was a lot less friendly than before, in every game of ssm i tried to play i got insulted, which made it way less enjoyable. this trend could also be because back when i started playing i barely knew english, but i doubt that's the case. i've heard how the community isn't as good as it was before, which is a shame. anyways, i do wish the kits were more balanced. i remember squid being too op, which is why i mained it.
I agree, the SSM community is too toxic. you cant play any kit without people complaining that it's strong when you might just be playing better, regardless if the kit is objectively bad or not. You could play chicken and get called a tier whore even though it does 0 damage and takes so much. and the most played kits and most played for a reason, them being that they're overpowered. Smash crystals are frowned upon even though its part of the game, and it sucks that people just cant accept it when people use crystal. there was even a thread on the forum that listed all of the players that "pro players" encountered who used smash crystal so they could avoid or harass them.
Hey man, thanks for talking about SSM. It’s cool to see it outside of the mineplex community. When I was young, me and all of my friends would play SSM - went on for a year or two and then the friends stopped playing and I kept on. I made so many friends playing that game. Stopped playing sometime 2018. Around last year when mineplex updated it’s website and added scoreboards, I was listed top 10 in SSM wins. I knew & was friends with almost every god tier player. I think about a year before I left, mineplex created a player advisory council - which was made up of SSM’s best players - to receive accurate info on what needed to be updated in order for proper balancing & developing. At this point though the community was dwindling, and many of the good players had already decided to leave. Shout out to SSM nerds, from Xilent :) DeCouto05 (OG God), Faultered, ShhniprWolf, Stormiths, Rocochet Arrow, Deidara, ConnorHasNoPals, Allykaty, Majinnee, HushMyChild, AyatsuriEXE, charim, Diemolis, Gordon Ramsay, HiltSmash, Not0fThisWorld, RvinBaeGull, olitree, Q_________Q, Remkun, TheBigBadIrma, AtheistJesus
Castle Siege was my first ever gamemode on mineplex and I remember it like yesterday, I even remember what day it was! It was Christmas and I just got minecraft, so I played till the late evening, before I had to sleep. Castle Siege was my favourite gamemode, it made me very sad when it was gone, like a part of your childhood is gone.
these games can see light if the server ever comes back up. There's high demand yes, but it wouldnt be as active as peplle say it will be. They added UHC to their "classic cow" NPC in 2018 and it barely saw players. The server needs to be a lot bigger for any game to thrive.
champions will always be my fav game mode. I remember coming home from middle school and playing tdm for hours w friends... good times. it’s really sad watching mineplex’s decline :(
@@MarianKnighty It's not though. Champions is more like CS:GO in its nature whereas warlords is more like World of Warcraft. Champions had so much potential in making Minecraft a competitive game with its own leagues much like CS:GO.
bruh castle siege was one of my favorites back in the day, i loved turf wars though the one where you used wool and a bow to destroy the wool and everyone was one shot
I miss when arcade games would get players. Now all people play is micro battles, paintball, and dragon escape; even those games don’t get a lot of players
I have been playing mineplex since 2014, my names Frostbitefighter btw. My brother use to be so active in the forums and he also agreed that mineplex had bad updates like the survival games' one which removed iron swords from the game and many more... I still play mineplex to this day and maybe i'll play it soon after im done writing this comment. No matter what happens, mineplex would still be a quite huge part of my childhood and its hard to let it go. Eventhough there are just still 1 or 2 thousand players in it, i refuse to quit. Thx mineplex, thank you for the memories
Great video! I just found you today. I used to play smash mobs and wizards so much. I loved them both and it's sad to see where they are now. It's like a wave of nostalgia.
This video mentioned only the most known games that got removed on Mineplex. I loved wizards, it was so unique and at best had a ton of tactics involved with no vanilla combat. Skyfall: Skywars with elytra. It required 1.9 to play but the combat was 1.8-like. Basically forgotten, only have seen one player ask about it in 2019. Some seasonal games were also nice, but required a good connection and/or were laggy. In 2019 Mineplex also had a couple of limited games, like Area 51 raid (yea that was actually a thing during the meme) which I actually enjoyed.
It's still absolutely astonishing to me, how many different minigames Mineplex has made throughout its lifetime. If you counted every seasonal game, recently removed games, sub-games and main games, you'd prob get >50 total unique gamemodes! Each MP gamemode is special and you really have to thank the devs for taking the time to code every single one of them! A lot of people hate on MP's minigames but I feel like most of them are lots of fun and are a good contrast to Hypixel games! Keep up the good vids, Epic!
There was this WONDERFUL minigame featuring elytras, at was basically skywars, except you couldn't break blocks, and you all had elytras. It was amazing! I quit after they removed it.
Bruh I remember playing wizards for the first time on red warfare. It's sad to see this gem of a gamemode be taken up with mineplex and be neglected. As well as red warfare and its other gamemodes be removed entirely
Just so you know there is a game on hypixel called mega walls. And it has classes, which have their special abilities that can be activated with right click on sword or passivly.
man i remember when champions and SSM were some of the most popular gamemodes in mineplex and had thousands of players, those were some good times the first video i saw about mineplex was death tag, which was pretty fun as well
i was so sad to find out that they got rid of castle siege. So many good memories on that gamemode, it was a classic. Im glad you can still play it, but its just so rare and expensive which is just sad.
I used to breathe Champions. It's probably my favorite MC minigame ever. Clocked over 500 hours into it. It was pretty hard to get all the achievements to unlock every skills but it was worth it.
SSM has been my main gamemode to grind for XP to level 100 with the fact that less players are required to run the game in solo mode making your chances of winning much greater. If you ever try teams gamemodes for games like cake wars, it is almost impossible to win those games when playing by yourself as nowadays players get more experienced in the game and the need of parties feel very necessary to even get 2nd place in a game.
I’m sure this has been commented already, but I’ll say it anyway: Wizards is still available to play on on MPS. (p.s. thanks for using my article on wizards in the video. that was very cool to see)
I personally only played Mineplex for Castle Siege, so when I got back into Minecraft in early 2020 I was sad to see it completely wiped from the minigames. Havent been on Mineplex since.
Does anyone remember that one server, Uber MC? Omg I went on one day, and the server died so hard, maxing at about 25 players, and all of their servers deleted besides the creative server, and the staff being completely not fit for their position... Rest in peace xd
You just gave me a rush of memories, I remember there was that one game where there was 2 teams and 1 had to build a bridge to give time for the other team to prepare for a fight, I completely forgot what the objective was but I remember it so vividly.
Oh my god that was my favourite one, like 6 years ago I would go on every day to play Cops and Robbers and Dwarves vs Zombies, I was literally obsessed with those, they were so much fun. Recently logged on and there were NO players in the server at all and my favourite gamemodes were deleted. Kinda made me sad honestly, and I can't even find another active server with Cops and Robbers or DvZ, I wish I could play them again... (also they deleted my rank for some reason, bought it at 12 so I don't really care now but I still found it weird)
Am I the only one who misses the Snowball Fight game? It was a promo game solely for some winter event. I can't completely remember it, t was a mix of paintball, super spleef, and micro battle. There were four teams and you had to gather snow to make snowballs to throw at others at a rate along the lines of a Paintball rifle, and as you gathered snow you slowly destroyed the terrain of the map. Does anyone else remember this game?
OMG, I completely forgot about Champions and Super Smash Bros. I had so much fun playing those back in the day. Unfortunately, even back when I first started playing them, they weren't very popular any more. At least I didn't have to get passionate about it only to watch it die. Also remember watching UA-camrs play Castle Siege 2.0 and wanting to try it myself, but didn't have an account back then. By the time I got on Mineplex I just kinda forgot about its existence.
Man I used to play the hell out of Castle Siege and Dragons after school, they were my two favorite game modes to play even though it would bring me to like 20 fps. Shame they were removed.
To this day, I consider Champions to be one of the best Minecraft minigames ever. Especially the conquest mode. Reminded me of my favorite game of my childhood, Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the original one).
Wizards can still be played in player servers but the textures are disabled pretty much. I played it a month ago with some friends so it’s playable to my knowledge.
I remember playing super smash mobs soooo much one of my favorite moments was when a player went AFK for a little while and I just sat there waiting for him to come back so we could have a fair fight along with a 2nd player that I started just chatting with after the game I never saw either player again but it was very fun being a mob chatting with another mob lol
Wizards was incredible. That was the sole game mode I played on mineplex because my computer was too leggy for close range pvp. I loved how you could get different spells each game and I think you could level up the spells if you got multiple copies of it. A real shame that they removed it
I think that mineplex made a big mistake making a bedrock edition server. If it wasnt for that, mineplex might have been way better than it is now. Making that server split the mineplex team into 2 teams- one for bedrock and other for java. Thats where all the problems occured according to me. It also felt stupid to me that they removed those games that they couldn't maintain instead of hiring more staff because no other servers have the kind of games that mineplex has to this day and all mineplex games are so unique and fun to play.
The game that got me started on mineplex was castle siege and I played it everyday for hours, in fact all the games they had removed where the games I had played the most, along other games they removed like sneaky assassins and dragons. Plus on top of the lags and bugs I stopped playing anyway
castle siege and champions (plus turf wars but eh) were my favourite games to play on mineplex back in the day, honestly found them more fun than the hypixel games at the time and that was before every minigame got kits tacked ontop. just such ashame really because now the servers in a state of collapse, can't afford to improve because their shrinking player base but also it's lack of change and downsizing is what's fueling it. though it is quite confusing why mineplex hasn't been doing updates, they take the least amount of development time and are the least risky changes to make.
I LOVED castle seige2.0 gamemode, but unfortunately i got into mineplex about a week before its "death" When i saw that noone played that gamemode i got bored and i quit mineplex too
Hey dude just wanted to say I found your channel about 15 minutes ago but the first impression is amazing. You put so much effort into your videos and I think this channel might go onto something big. Keep it up man.
I remember when i played wizards on redwarfare. I loves the game and played it frequently. When redwarfare had shut down i was very sad and that qas when i was introduced to mineplex
I loved Dominate/Champions, it was such a shame that it didn’t get the support it deserves. Super Smash Mobs was also amazing as heck that didn’t get enough support.
I remember dominate, I remember liking the scout class and this gamemode made me get more into TF2, and my first played class was Scout, Im not a Scout main but I still miss the old times...
There was one game mode I played back in like 2015/16 I think (I forgot what it was called) but you ran around as villagers and tried to kill the other fake villagers (kinda like murder mystery) it was hella fun and I miss that game mode because there was ways you could upgrade your sword to diamond and get armor
Skywars was my favorite, but then they ruined it with complex kits, like an ice bridge that can take you straight to the middle as soon as the game starts
i remember back in the day dom was losing players rapidly and i built a underground cavern map with a clans mod friend of mine i regret not putting it out there for everyone to see
If I remember correctly, the Wizards minigame isn't a server original. They actually worked with another server that had this gamemode to merge it with Mineplex. Though I can't remember as for now what was the original server called.
Wizards was one of the first games I went to and got good at as it is a good blend between pvp and minigame style of play. I met so many people through that game and it being removed a long while back really sucked. I was a big part of that community and a lot of us played our last games in a player server the day it was removed as a sort of farewell. Champions is fun but a bit unbalanced and buggy. Smash mobs is basically the only game a play now and while it is very bug free and every class can be viable, some definitely heavily outweigh the others. My other favorite was gem hunters which was not only fun but also a unique way to earn rewards and cosmetics with a massive map. But anyway that’s my 2 cents, the server has been in shambles for a long time and I don’t think that will ever change
I got the legend rank on mineplex when it was like 90% off for like $6 and now my friends and I can play tons of old mineplex games we like. It’s pretty nice actually 👍
Yaaa I loved Wizards and I got vary good at it with a approximate of %80 win rate... Wizards was the only game I ever got that good at period and I don’t know why other games like Smash bro’s I’m ok at but nothing like the skill I grew for Wizards... 😩
I loved Castle Siege and when Dominate came out I spent all my gems on it for the Ranger class. Max out Longshot and Overcharge = instant kill if you can hit your shot on most classes
Bro do one on clans. The only reason why clans failed was as a result of neglection and their desire for money. For example when season 3 came out they released these items called builder boxes which gave the players dyes to use where back in season 2 players were easily able to attain these dyes by flowers. This dye box led to the dupe glitch of season 4 in which you could dupe items using the builders box. The mineplex clans leadership and developers (May I dare say) intentionally left the builders box and even added a sale (I think) for 100+ days into the server before eventually resetting it. Then there was the whole cheater problem which is a story for another time as well as the glitches that came in with illusion and smoke bomb. But fast forward to last map where they added this new rank: immortal, which was targeted at clans where if you buy it, you can instantly join the clans queue as well as get supply drops which have a major chance of getting legends - extremely op items. Sure you could argue that it wasn’t only clans players that bought it but since this update came out same time as clans reset it filled up the most popular server quickly resulting in longer queues and 100/80 servers which were overfilled and caused lag as well.
It seems like mineplex finally realized the marketability of clans during its dying breaths and still tried to make some cash out of it. (Around $24,000? I believe and still counting). Correct me if I’m wrong sorry.

I remember playing wizards and killing people by "gusting" them off the map. It was one of my fond memories from when I played Minecraft years ago.
I targeted people for using gust because I hated that spell
@@Mmshh Haha, it was by far my favorite way to kill people.
Especially on that one map where it was a giant ring that wasn't very wide.
Also using forcing people off the map with gust basically made them waste their teleport spell, which put it on a long cooldown
You should make a video about Dungeon Realms its a really old server that started in 2013 and still has a community that really loves the server.
Most of the game modes you talked about are one I love and I hate seeing some gone and some have almost no one playing them
Honestly the greatest memory I had with mineplexs games was bridges and the incredible 2015 halloween event.
I love how Mineplex has a dedicated reason to shut down minigames saying "it wasn't popular enough and we were too lazy to fix it."
The game that got me started on mineplex was castle siege and I played it everyday for hours, in fact all the games they had removed where the games I had played the most, along other games they removed like sneaky assassins and dragons. Plus on top of the lags and bugs I stopped playing anyway
I forgot how much I missed all of these games. I think I miss Wizards the most.
castle siege and champions (plus turf wars but eh) were my favourite games to play on mineplex back in the day, honestly found them more fun than the hypixel games at the time and that was before every minigame got kits tacked ontop.
just such ashame really because now the servers in a state of collapse, can't afford to improve because their shrinking player base but also it's lack of change and downsizing is what's fueling it.
though it is quite confusing why mineplex hasn't been doing updates, they take the least amount of development time and are the least risky changes to make.
man i mained wizards for so long,
it was a great idea made into a great game, and it was real sad when it got taken down
With Castle Siege 2, all it took to hand the game to the undead was one hacker to instantly fly to the king and kill it.
you should talk about minestrike, it hasn't gotten a gameplay update since around the time of its release (2014)
wish i couldve experienced mineplex in its prime, i was busy uh, playing r o b l o n k
Lmao
Hey I mean they’re both good games
But I didn’t have a account back then
I LOVED castle seige2.0 gamemode, but unfortunately i got into mineplex about a week before its "death"
When i saw that noone played that gamemode i got bored and i quit mineplex too
Yea castle siege was a lot of fun
Hey dude just wanted to say I found your channel about 15 minutes ago but the first impression is amazing. You put so much effort into your videos and I think this channel might go onto something big. Keep it up man.
I remember when i played wizards on redwarfare. I loves the game and played it frequently. When redwarfare had shut down i was very sad and that qas when i was introduced to mineplex
I wish I could experience Mineplex in its early stages but I bought Minecraft pretty late
There is still a lot of good servers left
I loved Dominate/Champions, it was such a shame that it didn’t get the support it deserves.
Super Smash Mobs was also amazing as heck that didn’t get enough support.
Castle seige 2.0 will be always in my heart. The greatest gamemode i have ever played.
I remember dominate, I remember liking the scout class and this gamemode made me get more into TF2, and my first played class was Scout, Im not a Scout main but I still miss the old times...
all misterepic videos be like:
old servers good
new servers bad
ok this is like one exception
There was one game mode I played back in like 2015/16 I think (I forgot what it was called) but you ran around as villagers and tried to kill the other fake villagers (kinda like murder mystery) it was hella fun and I miss that game mode because there was ways you could upgrade your sword to diamond and get armor
On Hypixel there is a game called wizards, it is a mix between Dominate and mineplex wizards. Its fun.
I never heard of these modes! Guess I was under a rock then.
I really just seen block hunts and mob hunt videos, so I guess that was on me
Skywars was my favorite, but then they ruined it with complex kits, like an ice bridge that can take you straight to the middle as soon as the game starts
This level of nostalgia hurts
i remember back in the day dom was losing players rapidly and i built a underground cavern map with a clans mod friend of mine i regret not putting it out there for everyone to see
I really love your Videos. When did you start playing Minecraft?
My favourite Mini game is wither assault, especially in the maze map, i always played wither assault when i was younger
If I remember correctly, the Wizards minigame isn't a server original. They actually worked with another server that had this gamemode to merge it with Mineplex. Though I can't remember as for now what was the original server called.
Just found the original server. It's called RedWarfare's Wizard Battles
My favorite mineplex games are dragons, bomb lobbers, and wither assault
Wither assault was a lot of fun
Dragons hit different
I still play lots of dragons because I’m in a dragons community on mineplex
Casper Donner how do I join that
Balla I don’t know what command you use to join communities but the community is called “dragonss” . It’s supposed to have both “s”
I found this man through reddit when he had like 200 subs. His channel is aging well
Hahahaha That's awesome
This you tuber is honestly so interesting. I am thankful that I found this youtuber
man i can’t believe i forgot about castle siege
by far my favorite game back in the days
there is actually a movement to bring back castle siege, daily mps and over 400 ppl in discord:
discord.gg/N4Dt36z
Bro Super Smash Mobs is the only reason anyone could get me to log into Mineplex.
idk if anybody even remembers this gamemode, but Typewars was fun AF.
You should speak about the downfall of Clans
Clansss 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Brooo the HYPPEEE when it was about be released
Bro clans had (still has) so much potential.
i love clans
My personal favorite was Gem Hunters
I miss the days when me and like 6 other friends would just go play TDM kill the randoms and fuck around in the TDM map and taking 1v1s
You should do this but for Hypixel for a future video.
Good idea, I might do
+
I miss skyclash, actually I don't beacause I never played it. I want it back tho.
rip crazy walls + skyclash
f
I don't know why but this video and the other video about why mineplex is dying are very SAD😢 you're hurting my heart.
Loved the vid ty! My favorite game mode was prob sg until bhoppers took over
When Mineplex shuts down I feel like I can re-open a much better Mineplex that cares a lot about player experience and the community
I just found these vids today theyre great and relaxing. Earned a sub.
same, this is such a hidden channel!
