- In this video, I show how I fill my watercolour pans from watercolour tubes. A mix of a practical tutorial and a palette tour, I have listed all the colours in my tin below. This is my particular set up, my own personal colour choices and I realise that everyone has their own view!
Filling up my watercolour tin, maybe adding some new paint colours, has become a bit of a ritual when I go on a trip. It is nice to have freshly filled colours to use.
The tip to fill the tin with Blu Tack comes from architect and sketcher Liz Steel - www.lizsteel.com/
These are the colours as they appear in the video:
Winsor Lemon (Winsor and Newton)
Naples Yellow (Winsor and Newton)
Indian Yellow (Winsor and Newton)
Buff Titanium (Daniel Smith)
Cobalt Violet (Winsor and Newton)
Opera Rose (Winsor and Newton)
Bright Red (Winsor and Newton)
Van Dyck Brown ( Daniel Smith)
Goethite (Daniel Smith)
Vulkan Red (Schmincke)
Cobalt Blue (Winsor and Newton)
Terre Verte (Winsor and Newton)
Oxide of Chromium (Winsor and Newton)
Olive Green (Winsor and Newton)
Perelyne Green (Winsor and Newton)
Indian Red (Daniel Smith)
French Ultramarine (Winsor and Newton)
Neutral Tint (Winsor and Newton)
Permanent Sap Green (Winsor and Newton)
Night Raspberry (Deep Deep Light) Cherry Blossom (Deep Deep Light)
Cobalt Turquoise Light (Winsor and Newton)
Cobalt Green (Winsor and Newton)
Mineral Violet (Roman Szmal)
So glad to find a new video from you Lis, even if it's just you cleaning out the tin :) Any chance of illustration process videos soon?
I have filmed three process videos now and none of them have turned out well! Maybe I should share them anyway and show the mistakes?
@@LisWatkins Yes, please. That would still be instructive.
Thanks for sharing your color choices!! This is so interesting.
I only use a small pearl of sticky gum under each pan (it sticks). Your pans have no choice ☺️
Oh, and thank you so much for not having long colored nails! I like it natural, therefore it‘s so soothing for my eyes.
Yes, I went a bit heavy in the Blu tack 😁
Hi Lis, I love to see your colour palette. Thank you very much for sharing. Great idea with the Blu Tack! I'm looking forward to the next video from you. Have a nice day:)
Thank you so much!
I’ve probably only cleaned my watercolour tin and pans in their entirety once ever 😅
Btw I have a small DS Buff Titanium but don’t know best way of introducing it in my sketches
I'm a messy person by nature, Ohn Mar! I just have realised over the years that I need to take a bit more care with my materials 😁
@OhnMarWinArt I use it for buildings and like a sort of mixer too. It's a bit like a cream gouache I think.
Just me or no sound?
Yes, no sound on this one 🙂
Aargh! Yuk! That sticky sticky blutack!
