So glad I found you! As a wannabe painter of 71, I am being urged more and more strongly by my internal muse that I need to start painting….this may just be the inspiration I need….very grateful❤
The hardest thing for me is to get that first stroke down on the paper. To get past that, I warm up by using pre-drawn zentangles from an adult coloring book using colored pencils.

Wow, just wow. This is only the second of your videos I've watched but I'm enamored by your style.
I'm a perfectionist, and have ventured into watercolor to try and rid myself of that in my art.
I love the idea of starting a vignette wet onto a dry spritzed paper, it's both precise and chaotic. Just the technique I've been looking for and didn't know it.

Thank you for the information. Watercolor still tends to baffle me some. I thought for sure you’d ruined the whole thing with the purple. But boy was I wrong! It brought another dimension to the painting and the whole thing turned out quite lovely. Thank you again.

Yes, I prefer cold pressed paper for my style of painting and I have a few favourite brands The paper in this video is by Baohong and is 140lb/300gsm cold press rough, 100% cotton. I also get similar results using Arches cold press rough, and Saunders Waterford cold press rough.
