- This is not the official mix of By My Side by Kat Wright. This is just a fun rough mix using all analog processing :)

If you have a song that you would love to see me mix in an analog pov style, send me an email at joshwestmix@gmail.com. I would love to show off your song by putting your instruments through this lovely analog gear.
If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask me in the comments.
I would love to see you do a comparison of doing one mix of a Song in Analog and the same Song but mix In The Box using plugins and then compare them.
Seeing you turn on the units made me see the electricity bill going up too😂
Not sure why he wouldn’t have furman power conditioners at the top of each rack. That way you would only have to hit a few switches to turn everything on or off.
As soon as I realized you were about to just let the video roll and get going I immediately went full screen. Fantastic video!
Thanks! I really love making them!
I was vibing right along with you at the end.
That is spectacular to see you work on that console! Thanks for sharing......
Fantastic!💥
Glad I found your channel!! I’m feeling inspired!!
Amazing to watch, Josh! Thanks so much for sharing and please keep em' coming! 🙂

SUPER !!!
Analog truly gives a warm feeling...
Dem horns crazy 🔥💪🏾
yes new subscribe wow nice room love the ssl and the genelecs
WoW 🔥👏🏾
That manley brought those horns to life
What a dream!
Not really you can get the same with plugins and tracking through hardware this is stupid and a waste of money tbh.
i just got a ssl 4000 g + and u inspire me a lot Josh. love ur videos, thank u so much for the free knowledge
Thanks! I really appreciate your kind words. Your support means the world to me!
Like it❤
Humm what was that Gecko doing on that very nice SSL mixing Consol Desk !!!!
Totally enjoy it! Is that a TC Clarity on your right?
The only problems are horns, sometimes it’s not in the correct time, arrangement sometimes conflicting, love the Bricasti and all the analog stuff
And love the work flow
Thank you for the beautiful video‼️
Not the correct arrangement? And... what should be the correct arrangement? I'm sorry, I didn't knew there was a book somewhere to follow with rules and all the possible "correct" arrangements anyone can make... or did you forget the part where what's correct in art is subjective? Hmmm
@@jas_batailleok.
What 480L preset was that for the snare? Sounds awesome
What’s Pro Tools doing in an all analog mix? Go for tape! (J/k, this is great)
Do you send all the tracks from ProTools to the gear and back into ProTools for recording?
ANALOG Baby !!! 😁👍👍
But are you actually using ANALOG Tape is the question ?
Yes! He’s only doing what thousands have done before but not using tape
what type of fader automation are you recording at the end of the video ? are you slowly changing volume of certain parts as they are introduced ?
All analog… but that’s a lot of digital stuff… delay, reverb and digital computer…? 🤷🏼♂️🤪😂
Exactly
BRA...........VO!!!!!!!!!!!! A youtuber who did something that's been done for generations.
It's actually good to see this now days, as it is becoming a lost art form. Fewer people have access to large console and analog gear mixing. Most studios are going in the box while using a smaller amount of analog gear for tracking only, and then mixing in the box with a desktop controller; or just a mouse and keyboard..... I'm trying to call you an idiot in the nicest way possible.
How is a digital delay (TC2290 @ 1:03) and a digital reverb (480L @ 1:15) Analog gear 😂
big like from ISRAEL !!
This was 20 minutes, but y'all need to imagine that the average work on a radio-ready single from a major artist is 15 hours!!! And the difference was already pretty big in clarity, but this is just the beginning! Superbly well done. They should show your videos in recording schools! All the principles applied here can be done in the box too! I'm also curious... why is the stereo image so small in the a room where you obviously have to travel off-axis a whole lot to get access to all those faders? I'm sure there are a lot of good reasons why not and I'm curious to hear you pov on it!
I think that would be genre specific. As well the editing process included. The most popular music for the last 20 years has been Hip Hop/Rap and Pop music. Only Kanye had that length of work on his mixes in the Hip Hop genre. Today's crappy Rap only takes me a few hours. And that's with the editing process included.
Doesn't sound any better than any of the popular chart topping songs currently out now that are mixed 100% ITB
really? chart topping.... yikes not to be reasty but that stuff is so hideous u really value that type of commercial shallow garbage?
Pro tools is analog! 😆 How about 2”
hahahahah omg now do the same with plugins 🤣
now do the same with no eq #AlScmittway
The original sounds much more AUTHENTIC.
No sense in even watching the rest of the clip.
Bill P.
I could mix it better with just software.
You are not doing it correct.
