Love your videos! One tip: The ice cubes would cool your bowl faster if you use a water/ice mixture and not just ice with some salt on it. The salt melts the ice but it then drops down to the bottom which only helps a little. Ice/water is the way to go! Much much faster.

I used an ice cream bowl attachment on my kitchenaid mixer, so not technically hand churned. I am blown away that I was able to make something with that flavor and the most perfect consistency in my own kitchen. THANK YOU BABISH! This quarantine weight is never coming off...
You can do that last method with plastic bags where the ice cream is in a smaller bag inside a larger bag with the ice and salt and you shake the bags until you get ice cream. We did that in my high school chem class as an experiment bc we were the cool class that actually did fun stuff
The KitchenAid ice cream maker actually works really well, without all the in and out of the freezer nonsense. It's just a mixer bowl with coolant between two walls, and a special paddle you attach to a KithenAid stand mixer. You freeze the bowl for several hours, then churn ice cream mix inside, and pour into tubs for storage.
If the bowl has a large and flat enough bottom, for the custard you could wrap a towel around a slab of dry ice, leaving a portion uncovered to set the bowl on and mix until done.
I thought this video required an ice cream maker so I didn’t bother watching the video. Now I have bought an ice cream maker and I thought this video would come in handy, never mind.

If you decide to make the standard ice cream recipe, with the homemade ice cream machine, make sure you use Gloves, when combining the salt and ice; or else it will hurt a lot.
Adding water to the ice is probably the best way to lower the temperature of the ice bath, it improves the area the ice cream bowl is in contact with the cold temperature
