If you have the time to experiment with it, why not? A bigger box will definitely give more bass but to have really good punchy bass, you need to get the shape of the box right. It's all trials and errors.

You're not supposed to fiddle with the polyfill at the back of the driver. It's supposed to dampen the resonances in the vent hole behind the dust cap. You need to stick it back using some rubberised adhesive, letting just enough gap for air to flow in freely for thermals but still damping the resonances.
Bro you seems to be from India. Can you please suggest me an excellent pair from Amazon/Flipkart around this price? Or should I go with this only? *I am into wedding video editing.
I have recently purchased this model. You can safely go with this model from edifier if you prefer mid and highs accuracy with punchy bass. Sound is really great. Only thing that's missing is the thumping bass kick. You can definitely add a sub through it's 3.5 mm subout for that which I'll do in future.

The transformer in my altec 2.1 system had a rectifier attached and the output voltage was 19.1 dc!!! I replaced it with a ryobi battery over 2 years ago no problems. I would love to know what the voltage is to the board on this unit!
Hi, at 4:39 you said "two speakers", what do you mean by that? Is it the left and right speaker? or the tweeter and bass speaker? I just purchase this speaker and I want to flip the L and R position because my PC setup is on the right corner and I don't have the room to reach the control knob.
In your opinion are they quality components??? Deciding between these and some bose companion 2 series iii.... What do you think... Can you open the bose up would love to see what that use.....
My power transformer is also blown. Didnt even have the chance to turn it loud & the next thing was the speaker suddenly went quiet. Took it apart & the transformer coil output was zero volts. There is no fuse on the power board, so a Voltage spike can kill the transformer easily..
Never thought about that as in issue and I just ordered the 1850DB's. They must have pretty good range if your neighbor can connect to them. I'm sure there's an antenna in there and removing that would probably do the trick. At 1:00 that little "cap" he points to is the bluetooth module I'm pretty sure and at 4:10 you can see a cable going to it so maybe you can just disconnect it there by removing the woofer.
@@toddsimone7182 I found out that my laptop had bluetooth and I had no problem with the audio connecting the audio that way. (previously had problem with delayed audio when using laptop bluetooth and Bose speakers). Thanks for the suggestions though.
Hi ! anyone found a way to permanently disable Bluetooth ? My neighbor connects few times a day and it drives me nuts. Edifier BT engineers should burn in hell for designing this...
That is NOT a transformer. It is a switching power supply board that contains dangerous HIGH voltage. I hope you know what you are doing. Some 2.1 systems use small step down transformers but not this model.
You could use a multi tester to figure out how many Watts and Ohms the driver needs. Although I recommend to replace both “mid woofers” since aftermarket parts could sound different from the original. I suggest you contact edifier for this issue and request for a driver replacement. Only tools you need is a simple soldering kit and a screwdriver.
That's a too big magnet for that small amplifier, might be not efficient enough, looks like the power supply board is not design together with the amplifier board.so maybe there is few option to upgrade the speaker, first would be woofer driver, cable, and electronics parts, it's good they use Bi-amp design
Hi I just bought these speakers and I can hear a constant static sound that gets very audible as the volume goes above 50% even without any cables connected to the speaker input. Is this normal? Is there any way to eliminate that sound?
No cable to input but still has static noise is what makes this speaker cheap in the first place. The inputs aren't even properly isolated in this case and them being class D IC chips, well...
Not really, since this particular model has a Digital Crossover, that it, it has 2 amplifiers/ speaker, one for the tweeter and another for the woofer.

Hi. It was very interesting video. I’m just wondering the power supply has earthing cable. Did you see that from inside?
I would be interested to know if there is a sound difference in testing between left and right speakers due to the board in one side.
Nothing noticeable... I have these speakers for three years now and left and right sound exactly the same to me.
Do you think is a good idea to change all the system to bigger boxes with the usual soft material inside in order to obtain a better bass response?
