Oh yeah Max one thing. Kolkata doesn’t have those Rickshaws that takes you from one place to the other. Here Rickshaws and Autos follow designated routes just like a public bus. Lol. That is no reason for them to do this. It's actually area based cartels which make them stay on particular routes. If you drive an auto in a city everyday, you know which are "auto specific lanes to take.

Guys!! You were so close to Arsalan in Park Circus just few metres away from Quest Mall. Best place to have biryani in Kolkata! Nevermind, this would at least make you visit the city again.
I literally made the same comment. They were literally stone's throw walking distance to the best biryani of Kolkata and they travel afar first mediocre quality biryani, at best. 🤦🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Most Indians prefer chicken or mutton curry with biriyani. It's not offensive to us all. Enjoy your food however you like. 💯✌️ You guys are doing great. Keep it up.
Hey ! You visited our restaurant-Aminia, a family business. It was delightful to watch you enjoy the famous Kolkata biryani. Also, the Uber cab was taking a U turn to take you closer to your destination which you probably mistook and ended the ride earlier which is why you were charged less. Sometimes ride prices are calculated more accurately after you end the trip and therefore differ from the charges that were asked for at the time of booking.
Very good to know.......that it is your family restaurant, previously food quality was very good but now a days I am little disappointed with the service and taste quality of food here. Hope it will be good soon.
You were so close to two of the best biryani restaurants of Kolkata - Arsalan and Shriaz, both walking distances from Quest mall. Aminia is great, but Aminia is more known for the chicken chaap than biryani.
Max did well not to listen to a vegetarian about biryani😂. Also Awadhi also means Lucknawi biryani. The thing is Kolkata biryani is derived from Lucknawi biryani , when the last Nawab of Awadh (currently the region in and around Lucknow) , Wajid Ali Shah was exiled by the british to Kolkata. Ali Shah brought all his awadhi cooks with him as well who were the pioneers of the current Kolkata Biryani as they made some modifications to the awadhi biryani to appeal to bengali tastebuds. The recipe has been carried forward from generation to generation and gained a lot of popularity in Kolkata and other parts of bengal as well. The addition of the potato was done at a time when meat was scarce. So in some restaurants the Kolkata Biryani is still mentioned as Awadhi or Lucknawi biryani.
If you want to try the authentic biriyani of bengal. Then you should try the dada-boudi biriyani. That will blow your mind. Though now days it had lost his authentic flavours. But far better than any other biriyanis.
Nothing like Hyderabad biryani and UP mutton handi curry, so awesome. Max and Chris u shd have asked a spoon for that Amina special dish. How come they did not keep a spoon in the curry, it's usually there in all dishes and the raw salad is for free included. They shd'nt charge for that. Eat plain basmati fried rice with nonveg curry u will not feel the spice, it will b lightly flavored without the masala. End all heavy dish with sweet pan, it's the ultimate taste. Try it. Nice to see u both enjoying the Indian food.
You nailed with the explanation of the biryani. However although that is a legendary restaurant that branch in particular nowadays have really gone down with their quality of food especially biryani. If you're still in Kol you should try ARSALAN(it was 500mts from Royal-from where you tried earlier in the day)and then you will realise that why generally the biryani of Kol doesn't comes with the serving of raita and salan(gravy)as the rice is pretty moist in itself Also nice to see that man helping Chris with the taxi booking, hope when he goes back to his place he recalls this nice incidents like the man who saved his go pro from falling (delhi, macaroni samosa)and not the unfortunate bad ones (the one in sadhus attire, the bangladeshi man in nizamuddin area)
If you guys are still in Kolkata, I will recommend you to visit the DADA BOUDI BIRYANI, Barrackpore, North Kolkata. You will never regret it😊 < I can assure you that it is better than Aminia's >
Hi Biryani guys😀 have you tried Muradabadi Biryani yet or not ? You should try and you will find it everywhere in north India now.....hopefully you will explore northern part of India in your next visit. ❤from Lko.

Rumal is a Bengali word, means handkerchief. That roti is very thin just like handkerchief, hence rumali roti. Anyways, I hope you guys are having fun. Welcome to our Kolkata ❤
@@rehanansari009t's not a urdu word you fool urdu has loan words from persian that is farsi, sanskrit & chaghatai turkic language which was the original mother tongue of tge mughals. The word rumal is of farsi origin & farsi was the official language of the subcontinent for 100s of years during the sultanate period & followed by the mughal rule. So even though farsi wasn't actually spoken by the majority of Indians but many of the Indians both hindus & muslims who used to work in royal durbars used to get educated in writing farsi & hence there was an immense influence of farsi words in majority of the north Indian languages starting from Bengali, Assamese & ending with Sindhi, Dari.

Great to see u guys eating by hands ❤ biryani biryani 😊
I was waiting for this moment 😀😀 Finally Max and Chris tried Biriyani in Kolkata.
Nice Gurl👍 👌
Hello from Delhi 👋 👍
Chris makes this balanced for me and so cool that he is fluent and joking with folks.
You guys should make your biriyani less dry
You were so close to two of the best biryani restaurants of Kolkata - Arsalan and Shriaz, both walking distances from Quest mall. Aminia is great, but Aminia is more known for the chicken chaap than biryani.
Thanks for trying Awadhi Briyani 😂
Awadh is a province at Utter pradesh where I'm from. 😂
You eat the correct way with hands like how locals do. Enjoy your time in India.
HUGE RESPECT FROM INDIA 💐🙆♂️🇮🇳
Yea suggesting veg biryani with dal makhani from Taj to a foreigner in Kolkata is sheer crime.
Looking at you go for the cardamom from the curry made me laugh so hard. I have the same habit. 😂 Especially the cardamoms from thick curry. So good 😍
If you want to try the authentic biriyani of bengal.
Go For Arsalan and Dadaboudi. those are gems!! probably the best biriyani places in India
You nailed with the explanation of the biryani. However although that is a legendary restaurant that branch in particular nowadays have really gone down with their quality of food especially biryani. If you're still in Kol you should try ARSALAN(it was 500mts from Royal-from where you tried earlier in the day)and then you will realise that why generally the biryani of Kol doesn't comes with the serving of raita and salan(gravy)as the rice is pretty moist in itself
Also nice to see that man helping Chris with the taxi booking, hope when he goes back to his place he recalls this nice incidents like the man who saved his go pro from falling (delhi, macaroni samosa)and not the unfortunate bad ones (the one in sadhus attire, the bangladeshi man in nizamuddin area)
Hey max if u want to taste authentic Kolkata biriyani then u have to try (dada boudi) or (Arsalan) these two are mind boggling
Hi bro big fan i hope you are enjoying the trip of my country
Being a Bengali (Indian) seeing this video feeling proud ❤❤🇮🇳

Lots of love and respect from India ❤❤🇮🇳📌
You Both Guys are enjoying in India more than an Indian...... Good
I love how you are screaming in the street "Biryani Biryani Biryani" 🤣🤣
If you guys are still in Kolkata, I will recommend you to visit the DADA BOUDI BIRYANI, Barrackpore, North Kolkata. You will never regret it😊
< I can assure you that it is better than Aminia's >
Pretty much anything is better than Aminia
Strongly agree 💯
If you want good quality biriyani please do visit in karims, dadaboudi and Arsalen. They provide you best quality
I recommend Sholoana Bangali and 6 Ballygunge place for best Bengali food
and for biriyani try once Haji Biriyani in behala.
One thing I liked about max,
Thet he took biriyani in his plat and then gave it to his friend also.
Wht a manneres dude❤❤❤
I mean…at this rate I can see you guys being the next Indian Jiju 😂
Hi Biryani guys😀 have you tried Muradabadi Biryani yet or not ? You should try and you will find it everywhere in north India now.....hopefully you will explore northern part of India in your next visit. ❤from Lko.
Hey max the restaurant name you are talking about is DADA BOUDI.... and one more thing I will suggest you to try the ARSALAN BIRYANI, that is amazing....
Dada boudi is truly the best
@@ankitnandy8987Dbapi briyani is best near wireless more at barrackpore
Guys you both are amazing, welcome in India,
They are the best vloggers on UA-cam. Thanks for showing the bright side of India. We are good at many things as well.
Rumal is a Bengali word, means handkerchief. That roti is very thin just like handkerchief, hence rumali roti.
Anyways, I hope you guys are having fun. Welcome to our Kolkata ❤
Rumal is also a Hindi word for handkerchief and possibly means the same in some other Indian languages as well.
Rumal is pure urdu word !!!!
@@arijitbagchi1192illiterate hindu..... Urdu is Indian language devloped and originated in india way before mugalo and mongol exist!!!! Urdu has influenced by kufic Arabic script from bagdad house of wishdom !!!! Persion and mongol don't call rumal as handkerchief!!! Who are you teaching you aasram chap anpad !!!! Gober cake !!! Go learn history once agian kid !!!
Just to let you know - Max and Chris, "Rumal" means Handkerchief in Bengali/Hindi in India. And that's from where Rumali Roti gets its name. It is as thin and is served folded as a handkerchief.
Anyways, big fan. ❤ Keep up the good work. Hope to meet you someday!
Kolkata is specially known for its food biryani is the most loved amongst al the food items ❤️💯
I agree.
Please try Bengali cuisine at Kolkata like fish fry, pulao, dhokar dalna, mutton kasha. Try Bhojohori manna, 6th Ballygunj place or Bhooter raja dilo bor.
PS:Also I live that man he showed Indian hospitality. I liked how he explained the taxi drivers side as well.
Just one suggestion ,whenever u r trying some oily food. Avoid oil and take the main ingredients on ur plate and enjoy ,if u r trying to dip directly in to the bowl ,u will find only oil
Shout to the kind man , I hope everybody in us should be like .. I hope you enjoyed your Biriyani .
Love Bongoleenas❤💖 ... please come to Delhi🙏 🙂💖
Amenia is the worst choice for Biryani. Try Arsalan which is pretty near from quest mall that you were visiting.
Spices in Kolkata Biryani is suppose to be subtle.
Why don't you two keep Uber, Ola or the InDriver app installed on your phones ? Your travelling would be hassle-free.
If you feel like the biriyani is a bit dry and you need some kind of curry, we usually use chicken/mutton chhaap with it. Goes really well together
Watching you for the first time Max. Shout to your mastery of eating with hands. fab. 11/10. Never been to Kolkata myself but definitely worth flying to Aminia. Keep up the spirit. Love from Dublin.
