Oooh we have a lot of horse shows in Italy as well! And I’m horse-bsessed :D I had no idea that Nicaragua has dancing horses festivals: they’re definitely better than me at dancing XD
🤣🤣 That is really fascinating! We didn't realise how strong the culture around horses is here, but you only have to look around to see how much horses are used, from tourist rides to carting around tonnes of bananas! Yes, they are better at dancing than me too!
Thanks! Central America is awesome and 2-3 months is a good length of time to tour through them all. Great question! We are biased now that we have lived here for the last 10 months, but if you balance out the costs, the variety of food, things to see and do and the ease of travelling across the country then we would still probably rate Nicaragua no1!
Thoroughly enjoyed watching your clip! So good. And yes, I know that toilet bin process too well when I’ve been in South America. It’s always a luxury when you return home and go to the toilet .
Yes, we did that just a couple of weeks ago! It was a steep hike but the view from the top made it all worth it! Certainly one of our highlights so far in Nicaragua. The landscape is amazing, with Masaya volcano, the isletas, city of Granada and Laguna de Apoyo. We'll be putting together a video about it in the next month or so.
@@BucketListTravellers i was about to ask you for a video, i hiked it in 1998 and 2000. There's was no turism nor tour guides in those days, is was an awesome and wild adventure
@@Drskopf Your wish is our command! We had a good day too. It was cloudy in the morning, so we got the experience of the cloud forest, then the clouds parted in the afternoon for amazing views of the country!
Thanks for watching! Nicaragua is an amazing place to visit and it would be awesome to have friends to show you around and give you an authentic local experience.
Funny you should mention SJDS, we're in the process of making a video on that! The procession with the wax saints - is that La Purisima that you're talking about? We've made a seperate video about that.
Love the tips and review. I generally bring a UV pen with us just incase so we can drink the tap water. You guys look like a fun couple to travel with. New friend here to show support.
Thanks so much for watching and your support Phil and Suzie! Is Thats a really cool tip about the uv pen, we didn't know about that! We had also heard about 'lifestraws' on this trip and will definitely need to invest in these for next time!
@@BucketListTravellers We travel with a Steripen and a Sawyer water filter so we can always have access to clean, safe water wherever we are. Way better than consuming all those plastic bottles. Great to hear the tap water in Nicaragua is drinkable! 👍
Hi Wimal, it is possible to get permanent residency in Nicaragua and there are different requirements to meet, e.g. invest money in Nicaragua. As for Australia, we can't get in right now, so I don't think the chances of moving there are high for non citizens!
Hi Ahmed, you will receive a 90 day visa on entry to the country. This visa can also be used for Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador. You don't require a covid test if you are fully vaccinated.
When we were in Leon at the beginning of our time in Nicaragua the hostel we were staying in didn't provide those big bottles of water and they told us it was fine to drink the tap water. We googled it and read that in most cities the tap water is treated, so we cautious tried the tap water. We've now been drinking the tap water for 10 months and we've been fine. From what we've observed expats generally drink bottled water just to be on the safe side.
Hi.. Watched a lot of your videos. We bought a little house in Diria/Diriomo. We love it here. Will be here for another month. If yall would like to meet up for lunch or dinner get in touch. Matt and Miriam....
Hi Matt and Miriam, thanks for the offer! We are in North Nicaragua at the moment, not sure of our movements over the next month but would love to catch up if we are in the area. Can you DM us on either Facebook or Instagram and we can go from there?
😀The second piece is known as a bidet. There is a jet of water that spurts out of it and you use it to clean yourself instead of using toilet paper! Takes a bit of getting used to and means that we don't need to buy toilet paper anymore!
Housing generally costs around a third of what you would find in the US and you should be able to find nice accommodation between $500 to $1000 a month at the moment. Stay tuned for an upcoming video about rental cost of living here!
Those poor horses ,though !! You can see their ribcages through their skins & some skin conditions ,too !! And obvious exhaustion. So sad !! And running with bulls !? Hopefully ,they don't kick / beat 'em like other Spanish countries do !! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
Thanks for watching Wilhelm! Australia also has a mandatory 2 week quarantine which costs $4000 and is a big disincentive to returning home. With flights still infrequent, it looks like it will be quite a while before we return home. Thankfully we're enjoying our time living in Nicaragua - such a beautiful country!
Caught you red-handed @@BucketListTravellers 😉 I left you a comment on another video and I specifically remarked on how often you say you love the country.... as a Nicaraguan-born, Portuguese-blooded American, I find that really touching. Thanks and please keep cranking out your awesome content!

@@BucketListTravellers The political issues are another thing. I’m Nicaraguan but grew up in Oz, and unfortunately our family tells us that Nicaragua isn’t good right now. Many family members have lost their jobs, the govt is so corrupt and they’re trying to escape but with the pandemic it isn’t that simple to leave.
@@michellea5415 Gday Michelle, great to hear from another Aussie! Sorry to hear about your family's situation. Yes it isn't easy to leave right now, however we hear that the Costa Rica border is opening up in November.
Hi Francisco, thanks for your message! We are still in Nicaragua right now as of of early December. It is now possible to leave Nicaragua, however it is still very hard to get back to Australia and we would prefer to stay here as we feel that living in Granada is much safer than living in other countries.
