I've been doing this trick for years to pick up girls. The only thing different in my performance is I change the order of revealing the cards. I reveal that I knew their card first and then tell them how amazing it would be if they knew that I picked the *whatever* card. A very tiny change, but the ending is them suddenly having "psychic powers" that they didn't know they had. It's at this point that I tell the girl that we should talk more so she can develop these "abilities".
Never been much of a fan of marked cards/deck. I perform a very similar trick using a key card called. 'Do As I Do' Great channel by the way! Enjoy your videos!
Don't feel bad mister Brushwood ... we love your half ass channel the way it is . I think these tricks are great . We don't really want big flames and smoke !!
the funny thing is when he explains the trick he actually chooses the jack of hearts which the other guys chose out of his part of the deck, is there really magic going on...
Everytime I see u do a trick. Or challenge. Or whatever it is u do. I usually get the trick at least half way understood before u show the solution. And for challenges. I usually get them in about ten mineutes. But sometimes. I just dont understand. Ad thank you for this show.
there's good reasons to go either way. I figure people have seen enough tricks that they already guess that you're going to get their card right, so I like the surprise out of nowhere when you prove THEY guessed right first.
Assuming you're referring to the Jack of Hearts moment, Pavel was probably "practicing" reading the marked cards, so he knew the original card. A normal spectator usually won't know that, and it doesn't really matter.
In the awesome movie magic with anthony Hopkins ( book even better ) . This trick is done with his old flame . You will see how a great magic trick is so often relies on a great story, or taking you on a journey , being great with the patter . Reason I love magicians like Bill Malone who I would see as young boy and he was just coming up . He credits his greatness to becoming funny and personable because he worked in the hey day of Chicago bar magic . Although he studied right here in Chicago with the great Ed Marlo and became a master . It wasn’t until he learned to use his personality and humor did he propel his magic. This can’t be stated enough . So many people doing magic or trying to fool on YT but very few have an act . Choose 3 tricks you do awesome and now make em your own . Now you are a real magician rather than someone who knows some secrets to tricks and performs bad magic thus ruining an experience of wow and wonder for someone watching . Don’t be that person
You seem to have missed how the trick is done. in the third segment, Pavel is the one doing the trick for me. The method relies on the performer (pavel) picking a random card at the beginning and forgetting about it instantly.
i think i'd would do the end the other way round, reveal theirs first and then yours.. because they know you're doing a magic trick, so they kind of expect you to find their card. but when they then are told that they also found yours? mindf**k! plus you revealing their card just might have amazed them enough to forget which card the picked for you. so the moment of your card being turned over, woud be even more dramatic. cheers!
I think the trick has more impact on the other person if you relveal the cards in reversed order. First, reveal that you have picked their souldmate and he will be like "Yeah, he's the magican after all. Then reveal, that he has picked your card. This will blow his mind becuase he had this kinda magic power too....^^
That's also a good point. anyway thanks for the trick!! i might just use it in a routine.. and buy one of those sneaky marked decks ;) i usually am only into 'normal' decks, but the effect is really strong.
I remember this trick is what inspired me to make a marked deck and it took FOREVER. When I was done, though, it turned out perfect and was so worth the effort.
I'm unfamiliar with Colin's take on this. I first learned this at the Austin magic club in 1994 or 1995... Colin hadn't already published his version before then, had he?
I wish the Ultimate Marked deck wasnt discontinued because the prices are ridiculous. I really should have got them when they were in the 20 dollar range. Well, I did splurge on the 50 bucks they are selling for at amazon. These are much better than the Boris wild marked deck because the marking flow with the actual design of the cards and Honestly there are so many years of entertainment to be had with a marked deck like this.
I did a quick amazon search and couldnt find them any more. You might have to just try google and maybe some online magic shops will have some in stock but be prepared to pay top dollar. My original comment was from last year and they were 50 bucks on amazon. I couldnt even imagin how much they would be if you would find a pack somewhere. Actually Ebay does still have some but they are 100 dollars so here you go.... www.ebay.com/itm/Ultimate-Marked-Deck-BLUE-Back-Bicycle-Cards-/321199866825
During the explanation, the card he selects that he says he is going to forget, is the same card that is pulled during the revelation. The J of hearts...the odds of this are not good.

This is amazing! Never in my life have i seen a talking hedgehog.
You’ve never seen sonic?
By far the best use of a marked deck I've ever seen. This is a fantastic trick!
It's really weird because in the beginning, Brian actually picked the jack of hearts

Never been much of a fan of marked cards/deck. I perform a very similar trick using a key card called. 'Do As I Do' Great channel by the way! Enjoy your videos!
I LOVE THE DECK OF CARDS
On Jack o' Hearts observation...I think Pavel was already practicing the trick! Haha, nice.
ooh, even better than that: you should watch me DRINK! -Brian

Don't feel bad mister Brushwood ... we love your half ass channel the way it is . I think these tricks are great . We don't really want big flames and smoke !!
I like the way the cards are marked like you did in episode 80, much less noticeable at first glance. Either way this is a killer trick!
Brian sure did change a lot...
yes-- check out the "you do as I do" card trick we taught about 50 episodes back. It uses two full decks and the key card principle.
that is the coolest marked deck ive seen, it fooled me even though i knew what to look for. might have to get me one of those.
actually your card was J of Heart!! ahaha and he find it!
+Αλέξανδρος Μυλωνάς i saw it too :D
+Αλέξανδρος Μυλωνάς He already told him how to read the cards he probably just read it and pulled it out
That is crazy i was high the other night and ordered a pack of marked cards cant wait to try this on mates
That’s wassup
I've been trying to find the tutorial for this. Thank you scam school
the funny thing is when he explains the trick he actually chooses the jack of hearts which the other guys chose out of his part of the deck, is there really magic going on...
Please bring these back!!!!
Did anyone else realize that Brian actually did pick the jack of hearts?
bravo!!! brian!!! you did it again!!!
Everytime I see u do a trick. Or challenge. Or whatever it is u do. I usually get the trick at least half way understood before u show the solution. And for challenges. I usually get them in about ten mineutes. But sometimes. I just dont understand. Ad thank you for this show.

I'm pretty sure Brian has 6,732 all time favorite card tricks now. >_>
When he showed how to do the trick and he picked a card from the guest he actually took the jack of hearts so the guest does have sycho powers
Thanks! Always glad to hear it.
Your videos are awesome Brian, I love em! I watch these more than the TV :)
“We don’t truck with trick deck cards” - proceeds to use a $20 trick deck
The one we showed in this episode was the "Ultimate Marked Deck," the most expensive solution of the three on the site.
I love the way you perform you have a great performers personality.
lol - Brian, it seems that every cardtrick u show is your "all time favorite" cardtrick^^
Great trick man, thanks a lot!
finally my marked deck finally came and i love it
right on! glad you dig it!
You can make your own marked deck, Brian had a tutorial for it, and its even more discrete than the one on the video
Have you ascended beyond the average level of a saiyan and become the legendary super saiyan?
Great Job Brian!!! Love this show!!! Happy Holidays!
In the 2nd time, brian actually picked a Jack of Hearts. He actually got it correct :P
Assuming you're referring to the Jack of Hearts moment, Pavel was probably "practicing" reading the marked cards, so he knew the original card. A normal spectator usually won't know that, and it doesn't really matter.
BRIAN! They used your face in a CRACKED article! lol it was awesome

So... when are these then going to ship out? :) Looking forward to running this trick when the ScamPacks arrive!
I saw you looking at cards while he was picking... BUSTED! :D xD
Brian, my marked deck came!!!
Awesome trick!
Nicholas Moscariello Thanks, nicholas!
I was actually thinking of the other guy in the video, but that's pretty funny.
For future episodes you should get the guests to try it on other bar-goers whilst you guide them perhaps.
I am such a hardcore fan I knew the trick before the tutorial cause I love the books :)
What a coincidence. He actually picked the Jack of Hearts in the explanation.
Woah, Brian is actually responding to comments. Looks like he has extra time other than swimming in free beer. He probably literally does that.
its an awsome trick but I love doing the tricks that can be done with a regular deck still really cool trick !! :D
i think i'd would do the end the other way round, reveal theirs first and then yours.. because they know you're doing a magic trick, so they kind of expect you to find their card. but when they then are told that they also found yours? mindf**k!

you are a scholar and a gentleman

He says one of my all time.
you should start doing some deck givaways that would be awesome big fan by the way nice trick!
i love your videos, simply entertaining!!
Isn't it kinda funny how almost all his card tricks are his favorite?
thanks, man. You're the best. :-)
I made the marked deck tht u taught us how to do it but the one u have in this video looks a lot easier to read
saw that! pretty cool.
In the setup to this trick. Try "forging a psychic connection" with them before hand. Then prove that the connection is true with the reveal.
wait... were you disappointed that he didn't have actual wizard powers? The show's not called "Actual Psychic Powers School."
i love your tricks
That's also a good point. anyway thanks for the trick!! i might just use it in a routine.. and buy one of those sneaky marked decks ;) i usually am only into 'normal' decks, but the effect is really strong.
I also never cared about marked cards until now.
U know a million beers is like 4000 beers an episode :O Wheres mine?
Impromptu tricks are better , without gimmicks... But this trick still is amazing.:D!
Very nice!
"alright"
i lost track of how many times he said that lol
thanks, man! I never bought into that whole "I am a WIZARD!" bullshit. :-)
Hes a really good teacher
Like if u agree
I remember you from high school when I chugged a lot of you when I jade troubled times then I learned
.get paid
.get laid
.gatoraid
Jersey is part of the UK right? You should be able to get it.
Making my marked deck while watching this :P
I remember this trick is what inspired me to make a marked deck and it took FOREVER. When I was done, though, it turned out perfect and was so worth the effort.
Great trick
very nice, thank you
nice magic...I love it.....amazing trick mind blowing awesome....
I got my marked deck for 4 dollars
Where did you get them?!
I'm unfamiliar with Colin's take on this. I first learned this at the Austin magic club in 1994 or 1995... Colin hadn't already published his version before then, had he?
In my defense, I do mention this is "one of" my favorites :-)
Brian which deck did use in the video thats online because i wanna order one
I wish the Ultimate Marked deck wasnt discontinued because the prices are ridiculous. I really should have got them when they were in the 20 dollar range. Can you link to me where the Ultimate Marked Deck that Brian has, it has the actually number value, so it is easier to memorize

Dang, I might as well take the time to make my own instead of paying $100, thanks for the reply tho!!!
This is great card trick, and i can do it with a normal deck of card!
I love the ending
Of course! But first: can you pinky swear that you've watched all 250 previous episodes?
This guy here would make a good commentator.
ahhh the days when netflix still sponsored videos
Thank you :D
During the explanation, the card he selects that he says he is going to forget, is the same card that is pulled during the revelation. The J of hearts...the odds of this are not good.
That's RIGHT. Because I only deal with THE BEST! :-D
I have it on high authority that my ridiculous videogame hairstyle was never in fashion. Not even the 80's would have touched it.
Dude, 6732 is my country code. Bravo.
Happy 250th video :)
the creepy thing is , he actually did pick his card (jack of hearts) :o
These cards are all sold out but do you guys get more soon?
