- Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, a border crossing from Finland to Sweden, a visit to the most sunny city of Sweden, Luleå, a ride to the old church town Gammelstad Kyrkstad and Storforsen waterfall!
Before we left the capital of Lapland, Rovaniemi, I did some shopping for the finnish Frazer chocolate. Then we were ready to visit Santa Claus! Santa Claus village and the Arctic Circle Center are located close to Rovaniemi - and I finally could touch a reindeer and talk to Santa about motorcycles.
Our visit to Finland afterwards came to an end - we crossed the border to the next country: to Sweden! A rainy ride later we arrived in the city Luleå - the most sunny city on Swedens mainland! Initially Luleå was founded at a place that is now known as Gammelstad Kyrkstad - a UNESCO World Heritage with a medieval curch and about 400 red cottages that we drove through the next day. The next destination was the amazing Storforsen waterfall - before heading out on a hidden military road.

Mal wieder Danke für´s Video Lea. Die Berge die in Schweden fehlen gleicht die Landschaft locker aus finde ich. Und das Wetter ist oft besser als in Norwegen ;-) Wir hatten uns auch schwer getan von Umeá richtung Norden Nebenstraßen zu finden, meist sind wir in kleinen Feldwegen gelandet die an kleinen Seen vorbei gingen. Hat zwar Zeit gekostet aber war einfach nur schön.
Sehr gerne! Ich finde auch - ich persönlich liebe auch die ganzen Seen. Ich finde es gibt nichts was entspannender ist als nach einem Tag auf dem Motorrad in den Seen zu schwimmen. Und ich mag auch dieses unaufgeregte - obwohl in diesem Corona Jahr sicher wirklich nicht viel in Norwegen los war, finde ich es einfach nochmal besser ganz alleine auf kleinen Straßen zu fahren...

If you only watch the Storforsen from that low point you missed out on something spectacular. At 8:47 you can see the boardwalk at the right that you can stand all the way too the edge and feel the force of the water.
Lots of comments about the beautiful scenery but surely you missed out the best bit which is of course the the SSAB steelworks in Lulea, surely you must have seen it? As somebody who has worked in the UK steel industry for over 40 years, of course I love natural beauty but nothing beats the majestic views of a steelworks ! 🇬🇧🏍

Ciao Lea, I've been to Santa Claus village in winter time with my two children some years ago and it was stunning!! We also slept there one night. Very cold, but fantastic experience!
Yes I think our experience was not that great because everything was as well closed and only a few shops open. I would give it another chance in wintertime. ☺️

Nice to see you have visit the area where I grew up, Luleå and Gammelstad. Sorry you didn't find nice roads in the area. You should have asked locals for nice gravel roads because the area have a lot of nice gravel roads to offer.
Yes it’s such a nice area! How is it to drive on the ocean in winter on the ice? I think that sounds so amazing! 😍
Oh we did find nice roads there then - but what was difficult on the map to figure out and gave us a „headache“ was the area west of the e45 because most of the roads there that go direction to the Norwegian border are one way roads. But: we found a nice round trip anyways, you will see in the next episode! ☺️
@@Got2Go It is really nice to drive on the ice both with car and motorcycle. When I was living in Luleå I actually did commute with my motorcycle all year around, even if it was -30C! I had a enduro bike with studded tires and it was a blast to drive in the winter. But you can also drive your bike without studded tires in the winter if you have skis on the bike. If you want you can check out my youtube channel when we ride military bikes with skis in the winter.
Nice video, one tip for your travel partner, turn the oil can 180 degrees and it's much easier to fill op the oil.

@@Got2Go I think all of the Scandinavian countries are appealing to me. Nordkapp is my destination so I might return through Sweden if I have time :) If you come to the UK you must see The Yorkshire Dale's and The Lake District, on a sunny day they are both gorgeous area's.
Completely agree....hadn't considered it till I watched this channel and it's definitely now on my list ....although I think it will be camping to keep the costs down 🙄🇬🇧
