So when I first saw the episode where zomburger is introduced, I thought something seemed familiar about them, and with this episode it hit me. Cesare is the name a character from the 1920 film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. In fact, all of Zomburger employees are inspired by the film. Cesare looks exactly like the killer of the movie, who’s name is Francis, Conrad is the first name of the actor who plays the character Cesare, and Doc is named after Dr. Caligari. I am actually thoroughly impressed.
this is actually happening with Big Top too! Steve is named after Stephen King. Penny after Pennywise the Clown Billie after Bill Skarsgard and Tim after Tim Curry!

The intro is so cool. I love how Steve and Cesare both seem to so involved with this "burger life" that Steve sleeps in the van, and Cesare is climbing down a staircase to hell, while all the other characters are out of costume and actually living. It's a short way to show a large distinction.
the humor in this show is so wacky, it feels perfectly paced and works so well with the amazing characterization from both the voice acting and the animation. the horseshoe crab bit is so jarring and abrupt, it totally kills
Seeing Ceaser surprised ad Doktor's food collection in his jacket made me laugh like a madman. It's not because of him carrying food in his jacket, but because he's a supervisor who is impressed by his employee doing a good job.
Fun fact: Chris Fleming doesn’t actually have a script, Worthi just follows him around with a microphone whenever he goes out to get boba and he works with whatever aimless things he exclaims during his tapioca based highs.
It was pretty weird when Chris yelled "FRESH OUT OF THE MORGUE" while trying to discuss tapioca balls with the barista, but it added to the show pretty well
I love that it seems like the Zomburger crew amongst themselves just shrug off Cesare’s eccentricities and undead implications like “sure man whatever :)”. Villains that only play the part when protagonists are around are so fun.
The part where Conrad wants to take the contacts out is so...real lmao. I'm a cosplayer so I feel this on a spiritual level. Imagine your boss forcing you to cosplay at work and not letting you take it off,,, a special Hell.
We can't really tell what Doc is cooking in the intro, but holding the pan like that just gives me the impression of an actually trained chef. I love the idea that he went to culinary school just to make barely edible zombie-themed art for a food truck.
There's something I absolutely love about having no idea who Chris Flemming is outside of his role as Cesare and seeing so many comments being like "I'm pretty sure they just stuck a microphone to him and recorded him grabbing a boba tea."
I like to imagine Steve has no concept on how humans behave so everything he does is just based on speculation. Like when he ate that guitar, he was genuinely confused
"Doctor, collect some samples. We need some more bad food ideas." "I am WeLL ahead of you sir." It's so cool that Cesare and Doctor are on the same wave length when it comes to business ideas.
Wouldn't be terribly surprising if Doctor's just rolling with it for the fun of it. It's basically seeing how stupid and shitty you can make food, and it's actively encouraged too!
@@Soulbone3 I wouldn't be surprised if literally everybody else records their lines, and then Chris just listens to the episode and puts in what he thinks Cesare would say in that situation. Lmao
Now we need to know how Steve and Cesare got to where they are today. Were they banished to the human world? Did they get lost and end up in the wrong dimension, unable to return to their respective homes? Are they scouting out new opportunities to colonize the human world? And why FOOD TRUCKS, of all things? There's just this whole backstory of lore, and the series focuses on the most mundane aspects of the world, instead, and I kind of love it for that.
My theory is that clowns and the undead hate each-other because of Halloween. The Undead used to be the average Halloween costume and that probably brought in a lot of revenue for them. Eventually movies started selling clowns as being scary, which was a gross misrepresentation, but they started taking a chunk out of the Undead’s profits. They then probably struck out against the Clowns before they knew why they were upset.
Love how Cesare makes such a big deal about how he'd look weird if Conrad didn't have his contacts in... while Conrad is wearing sunglasses on his head that he could use to cover his eyes. These guys have one brain cell and it rattles around like a marble in a jar.
In all fairness, contacts suck. Sunglasses aren't going to help dry, itchy eyes. ... Conrad could have brought contact solution and eye drops with him though. So yeah, they still only have one brain cell lol
@@avery9076 Conrad could've taken his bothersome contacts out and worn his sunglasses instead and his costume wouldve been more or less intact is the point
I just realized what makes Steve’s comment about selling rocks funnier, it’s a call back. I didn’t realize when I watched for the first time, but it’s a call back to his daughters bake sale/ when he stole the stove to cook rocks.
On top of that at least in the first episode (I'm not sure about the others) they literally do sell rocks, cause there's a whole section on the menu on the outside of the truck that says "Rocks!" lmao

my favorite concept is that Cesare is most definitely a zombie and Steve is a real clown, and both of their ideas to "blend in" is to just make a themed food truck. as if that is the easiest solution to not standing out lol
The fact that Cesare is insistent on hiding the fact he's a zombie while his staff is oblivious is the icing on the cake. I'm so happy Big Top Burger has returned!
"Chris Flemming wasn't even supposed to be in the series, we just recorded him while he was doing chores around the house and he started shouting at the walls." -Worthikids, probably
“I swear to god if I can’t get good parking I will CRASH this BUTCH MECHANISM into an EMBANKMENT WALL!” - Chris Flemming try to park a vacuum cleaner probably
I'm positive that's how Mike Tyson Mysteries came about. They just sat Mike in front of a mic and animated around whatever the hell he says, adding in Norm McDonald to somehow string it all together and give it some edge
you may laugh at steve for saying he sold rocks, but in the gas station where jason and friends stop, the slushee machine shows a picture of steve with the label of rocks. he wasn’t lying.
Clowns are supposed to be happy and bring a sense of enjoyment to life while zombies are literally a perversion of life and a horror trope but in real life clowns are portrayed as creepy and zombies are pretty cool

IM GLAD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THOUGHT OF THAT FILM
this is actually happening with Big Top too!
Steve is named after Stephen King.
Penny after Pennywise the Clown
Billie after Bill Skarsgard
and Tim after Tim Curry!
bonus, doctor’s real name is alan, who is also character in the movie!

I love how Cesare is filled with antagonistic energy but he never insults or talks down to his coworkers
that’s the kind of villain you can root for, one who’s evil on purpose but has standards
He's the villain we needed, not the villain we deserved
He's a villain with insecurity issues regarding his appearance, and that's honestly what we need the most.
If you read the lyrics of the songs, it actually seems like Steve is the villain, still cesar is a great antagonist
I like seeing these characters outside of the big top.
Me too. It gives the sense that their lives continue off screen

The intro is so cool. I love how Steve and Cesare both seem to so involved with this "burger life" that Steve sleeps in the van, and Cesare is climbing down a staircase to hell, while all the other characters are out of costume and actually living. It's a short way to show a large distinction.
Something to note about Steve saying "we sell rocks": You can actually see rocks on the Bigtop Burger menu at the end of season 1
aka the treats for his daughters bakesale
@@probablynotviolet daughters bakesale is also a menu item
Also, in the first frames of "Jason&Friends" by Worth you can see Steve as the mascot for the product "Rocks" along some other mascots/food

the humor in this show is so wacky, it feels perfectly paced and works so well with the amazing characterization from both the voice acting and the animation. the horseshoe crab bit is so jarring and abrupt, it totally kills
" _No, Conrad, I'm a virgin around here. I'm sure my reputation precedes me however-_ " god i love him.

Fun fact: Chris Fleming doesn’t actually have a script, Worthi just follows him around with a microphone whenever he goes out to get boba and he works with whatever aimless things he exclaims during his tapioca based highs.
Knowing Chris Fleming, this is ridiculous enough to be believable
yeah that sounds about right
BASED?????
I feel this
It was pretty weird when Chris yelled "FRESH OUT OF THE MORGUE" while trying to discuss tapioca balls with the barista, but it added to the show pretty well
I love that it seems like the Zomburger crew amongst themselves just shrug off Cesare’s eccentricities and undead implications like “sure man whatever :)”.
As a man that went to culinary school...it does take a lot of talent to make shitty food on purpose
I mean his kitchen is very well kept you can even see something similar to wine on his right so he may very well be a good chef
I like the idea its not just bad its choicefully bad. Like everything is cooked nicely its just the flavors are chosen specifically to be bad
Maybe Doc got tired of cooking for normal kitchens at actual restaurants so working at Zomburger is a better alternative for him

Wait, is Steve the little baby clown from Wire??!?!?!?!?!

Was looking for this
I wonder if they're both undercover, if Steve is in hiding, if they're both retired veterans from a war? I'm so hyped.
