I've been watching all of your videos recently! We are taking our son for the first time next year so they are a big help to see what the park is like as it's been a while since I was last there. I studied higher French while at school so I've downloaded duolingo to make sure I can speak to the cast members so I totally agree with you that everyone should definitely make an attempt to speak French while there
Ahh thanks Samantha! :) Most cast members speak English well, and it's not a problem for them to do so, but as you said, it's just nice to at least say "bonjour" or something - I think it can go a long way x
I love Newport so much. Such a beautiful hotel and I really like both restaurants as well. We stayed there last June and also went to Yatch Club once. My husband order the exact same thing that you 😄 You should try the mussels, they are delicious as well!
My french is pretty basic but I always start my conversations in french with the cast members and always feel like they appreciate the gesture. And some times I even find cast members who speak portuguese (my native language)! The cast members at DLP are truly amazing 💖
Ahh amazing! I've seen DLP cast members sometimes speak Spanish, Portuguese, or even German to guests, and it always warms my heart :) On my recent trip, Jack Skellington spoke French to one group, Spanish to the next, and then English with me! It's amazing seeing the guests's reactions when DLP cast members speak their language!

Thanks for the video. We were unsure about eating at the Yacht club as the menu wasn't that impressive (and I can't eat shellfish even though I love it). We've now decided to change one of our days to it.
I think you went for a good pick on the menu. It all looked, at least visually, very well done. I think maybe the volume of tomatoes on the starter may be that they were trying to give you two different textures and flavours of tomatoes, with the fresh and sundried. It would get a bit overwhelming though, especially with how strong sundried can be.
On the Chocolate Fondant front: It was the dish I was most excited to see as it's one I did a test on back in the day and made a lot of-- It looked like a perfect runny centre, which is great to see. The inside would be (if it was traditional and not a cheat) the actual undercooked cake batter warmed through-- not just chocolate but really thick and coating the tongue kind of chocolate.
Yeah, passion fruit and chocolate is definitely a popular thing in France. You can buy the flavour combo in chocolate bars in supermarkets here. It was extremely weird when I first had it, and passion fruit itself is a very uniquely flavoured fruit, but overtime it really grew on me. It's now one of my favourite flavour pairings-- It's kind of similar to lemon and dark choc which also work really well together. That will definitely be a pudding I'll have to try and review for myself.
The coffee being offered at the end is an extremely French thing. Even in the small locals and supermarket restaurants wer're offered small coffees like that. It's my Mum's favourite part of the meal.
Anyway, thank you again for the video. I'd say give mussels a try next time-- they're one of the foods that I used to eat a lot of, before I realised how ill they made me. They can be really beautiful if done right. If you want to try them outside of DP, I used to buy Vac-Pac ones at Morrisons and Co-Op and they were a good treat at Uni (reasonably priced too). Best served with chips ;) .

Must say thatI really like Newport Bay hotel. The breakfast buffet was really good . I felt the dining plan worked so well for our family.

We stayed here a couple of years ago and loved it. It is such a beautiful hotel. We never had dinner in that part but we did have breakfast in that restaurant and it was fantastic. As always fab vlog Sam x

I learned French in school, I was quite good at the time but it's been a good few years since school. Before I went back to France this year I did a little practice on Duolingo, and I'm so glad I did because it came in handy. Our group was at the train station at Charles de Gaulle and a security guard came down to tell us there was a security threat and we had to go to level 4 - honestly without even my little bit of French we could have been in trouble. Definitely going to keep up the practice for the next time I go!
I loved the atmosphere in the restaurant and how quiet it felt, it’s something you can appreciate after a day in the park!
As Downtown Restaurant in NYH seems impossible to book at the moment I might go for the Yacht Club instead!
Yeah, the vibe at Yacht Club is a lot more relaxing than Downtown - I think I actually prefer it to Downtown! :)

Hi Sam, such a beautiful restaurant but I was going to say, its a little out of my price range.....I then realised that I was very happy to pay 99 euros for the character sunday brunch when inventions was open :) So, you can see where my priorities lie.. ha! The restaurant was fully booked when I stayed at the NBH 2 years ago, so it seemed very popular :) x
Hahah, love that!! Character meets are worth the extra money ;) I do miss Inventions, it's a shame we have to wait a couple of years for it to return x

New York hotel is definitely closer - it's conveniently located RIGHT at the entrance of Disney Village :)
We are staying at npb now and will be earing there tomorrow. The menu you had is included when you book the half- or full board foodplan.
Now a question I had is completely unrelated to this, but: a few videos ago you showed a marshmellow-chocolate lollipop you bought near big thunder mountain. That stall seems to be closed during the week. Do you (or anyone else here) know a different place where they sell these? My wife badly needs one :)
