I love the way learn to draw manga breaks down making manga into an easy step by step manner. I would've continued to be so lost, if I didn't discover this channel. Thanks for your help! Your guys are the best!☺
My intention was to make Seinen, but I wondered if it had slipped into shounen. Im glad to hear that its still, 100% Seinen, evben if it intentionally leans heavily into seinen elements :) As i tend to say when presenting my story, the intention is; "for people who grew up loving shounen, but wish that the themes applied more to them as adults" . Based on your criteria, it seems im on the right path
I already figure out my demographic and genres. The demography is Shonen so I don't think I need it rn but in future It might be useful to me. So, I'm saving this video for future if I had any Seinen story idea...
Another thing about Seinen is that at lot of them arent even necessarily mature or complicated, a lot of Moe slife or life are Seinen, Non Non Biyori is a pretty simple manga about cute girls doing cute things and its Seinen lol (oh thats pointed out in the video)
@@aphlearntodrawmanga right! Which makes it kinda funny when there is an overlap of moe with shoujo, since it's roots with Bishoujo characters basically started there =w=
@@aphlearntodrawmangaHello thank you for this video of Demographics Series.. I'm eagerly waiting for the difference between SEINEN and JOSEI DEMOGRAPHICS 🙏🙏🙏
Is it possible you could make a video on how to write Josei? I have a lot of ideas for some josei manga, but not a lot of feedback on how to even get started. 😅
NYAHAHA! The only "problem " is, I have these One Piece like worldbuilding (Whimsy skyislands, no grounds just clouds, etc), humour, and characters (Like furries, humans, etc) which is shonen-like, yet seinen themes like faith in gruesome/darkest times, purpose, redemption of a mercenary, etc. Any thoughts on the potential demographic?
@@aphlearntodrawmangaMaking it seinen can make me go deeper with the themes, which is really great. But, do you think I can make it adventurous and full of camaraderie as One Piece? (Sounds interesting to me, haha!) Thank you!
It really depends on who your main audience is, what they’re into and how you want to market your story. Before you dive into creating a 100-chapter masterpiece though, you need to watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/gQLZMmrXz9M/v-deo.htmlsi=CWp-98HxncxXejso
I and my friends are making an anime known as 'Golden Dragon Rings'.Which is a shonen manga. We are very interested in it.Will it work You guys comment. And i am only 12yrs old.
50 years combined experience means absolutely nothing. That could mean 5 mangakas with 10 years experience each or 50 mangakas with 1 year each. Also who says the years are equal? It could be 1 with 45 years and 5 others with one year each.
I will be honest, I can't stand shônen anymore. It was my favourite genre during my teens as well as shôjo, but the older I got I started to not be able to "endure" most of the manga targeting those demographics anymore. I started reading Berserk and Vagabond this year for the first time, also having been looking more and more into Naoki Urasawas works. And holy shit, this stuff I was not interested at all in when I was younger hit so hard. Especially Berserk is a series I fell in love with because it is so dark and gritty but on the other hand feels like a josei (I mean, look at the artstyle which is definitely influenced by josei manga styles). Also, I am an artist myself who is more fond of good anatomy, details and lighting and the recent shônn series especially often have artstyles I just can't stand. xD Another artist I love is Shuzo Oshimi due to the themes he depicts. Speaking about shôjo I still can read and love, there are series like Nana, Mars, Yona or Red River. It makes me so sad that there aren t more good josei out there. The only one I can think of I really fell in love with is "Nina the starry bride" which also got an anime this season. This series really surprised me on another level, like I didn't expect anythign going into it but then holy shit what a ride xD

For regular panels I do about 4-6 for a big spread page just one and showing multiple reactions from people about more then 6
You should make a S or Z with how the panels flow so readers don’t get distracted
Make poses very dynamic with for shortening when you have dramatic scenes or a iconic type of scene you wanna make stuck in a person head
Make dialogue simple but where it seems like they are humans
People usually respond fast don’t respond or think and then respond
When your making movements don’t show every single pose and how they move cause then that would look like a animation
When making a background make a base with a ruler I promise it Would help alot cause then you can see if it fits in perspective cause if you don’t you’ll confuse yourself on where you should put the building if you have a setting make a a simple drawing of the area so you can add things if you want and not have it be different from last drawing of a building
Now, characters that are human should have things like what makes them themself and making bold and stand out with clothes like a big hat or coat or maybe crazy hair
