  • When the conventional rear leg sweep fails, due to an aggressive attacker, you can use the ninja way to win

I love keeping comments open. Fun to read the off-the-wall "corrections" and rejections people put up. 😄

Hey, is this channel run by the real Stephen K. Hayes?
I just watched your interview with the Viking Samurai. What an amazing life story, would love to see it made into at least 5 Hayes Ninja movies.
(unfortunately Hollywood is mostly garbage today though)
Ninjitsu will always be the best, and certainly the coolest. I trained Ninjitsu in Austria like 25 years ago /w Norbert Pelzl (Mu Sul Kwan).
Now just train in an Aikido school, but always trying to do the techniques in Ninjitsu style, it's simply more powerful.

Miss the school a lot. Kenkade. May or may not remember me. This school has helped me a lot
Never been in a fight cuz the school taught me not to go into them
Never have been injured due to a fall because I know how to do a roll
I am skinny now even after not training there anymore because punching a training dummy and shadow boxing are hobbies to me instead of chores
I intend to always practice over the things your school has taught me, and explore other martial arts to add on to that knowledge.

Been doing osot-gari since somebody did it on me in 1980. I wish I knew this technique so he'd have gotten an unpleasant surprise back then!

I studied Bujinkan several years and I remember a similar technique, but I forgot the name. In that case you dont make such a big movement with the right leg, but the right leg goes down at the enemies calves, like a footstomp to the ground. That way, your right foot takes the position of the enemy's foot, making him stand only on the other leg/foot, so you could easily bring him out of balance.

Wish I lived in Ohio, so Stephen could be my Sensei: I'm an Aikido Practitioner and his technics are very similar and in many cases the same, but maybe a little more practical?

Why not destabalizing the opponent before doing the step? Like pushing him backwards at the neck with a boshi ken or koppo ken. Or other nasty stuff like grabbing the armpits/pectorals? Then it would be much easier.

No one said that these additional methods can´t be applied! In this Vid, An Shu just focuses on the Leg sweep variant! Too much inclusion of other aspects (such as "kuzushi" which is stated as missing by some here) would miss the specific point of the lesson.. As for the "nasty stuff"... I think the ToShinDo approach generally tries to avoid the nasty...🙂

UA-cam recommended me this video, so I will let a comment. I find this video so American. Like "we have to find a new method blablabla, think out of the box blablabla", and after that just do a thing that people have been doing for centuries.

I am a good mate of hock hocheim but why are they now doing lots of BJJ in the US military particularly the US marines I have relatives in the US marine but I'm proud of my Yankee blood I can trace my American anscestory to a bloke who came on the Mayflower and I also have a bit of American Indian moheghans but word doesn't know how to fight with a Bowie knife and tomahawk .I'm also very familiar with the arts of the samurai and ninja as my old man who's a descendant of Rollo gradon the first vikingar king of Normans looks slightly Asiatic because of the bit of nihonjin blood he has

Spiritual idols should be banned. I like the idea of not harming the enemy but having self defense. Dark arts and cult worship is evil, that world is torment neverending.
