The music composer responsible for this theme definitely hit the jackpot when it comes to theme and feel of the game! If the rest of the Paralives soundtrack will be similar to this, i'll be so excited! This game is going to be such a comfort to so many

It reminds me so much of Sims 2, I’m honestly stunned.
The detailing of the seating. The scaling of the tables. The kitchen decor. The plants swaying as they’re placed. The satisfaction of knowing that I will play this game someday. What peace 😌

My only concern is how they will make this work with gameplay. Animations and how much things cost in game
@@Redd_Nebula they are using Machine Learning to adapt animations to all shapes and sizes (like most modern companies do). That limits workload and helps adapt one animation to all Paras and all situations you could think of. And I think pricing on items is like the least problem we should really have.
I just hope people don’t have insane expectations. I remember reading a post where a person demanded the ability to remove onions from pizza. Like really?

Come to think, they never showed us anything related to live mode and this game is a life simulation game! That makes me worry about the gameplay aspect of it and how lively the Paras really are...

I love that the world isn't paused while building. Your characters stay put, but they're animated while waiting for their house. I love it!!

Yes! They definitely need to be "paused" so they don't get in the way lol, but it's nice that they just kind of stand there like "oh they're building us a house! How nice. Oh, I like that window!"

Im pretty sure I read/ watched lilsimsie or SOMETHING where it was revealed it would be free? but some extra content and like 'expansion pack' -like things will be purchased but i'd also be surprised because this game is literally beautiful and id invest 10x more in this than what I've done with the sims 😫
They basically took everything we were missing in The Sims and made it better

It’s the small things that matter, the sink with a drying rack, adding and removing pillows. This game is going to be so great and work the wait
Yes! Exactly, it's the little things like that which adds realism to a house. Here it's rare to not see some form of sink drain, whether metal or carved into the countertop, if it's marble or similar materials. I wonder if the extra pillow gets removed when they go to bed.
I hope kettle will be there too, idk why they didn't had it, isnt it a kitchen necessaries?

Question: Will there be a camera function that we can use to take family photos and hang them up cause I love making family homes and using pictures is the perfect way to fill them with personality.

The level of customisation for building is fantastic. No clogging up the catalogue with different sized furnishings and building materials, just chose a style and shape it as you want. I can see this game will run very efficiently. Create till your hearts content. I'm confident the team have sorted routing/usability issues as this has taken years to develop to this point.
I definitely want to see more options for different styles of house and different patterns, but there is already SO MUCH you can do with just these few limited options, it's incredible and I'm so excited
Im honestly amazed by how it looks, the way you can just use one item and make a thousand different things with it with all the customization options is truly astonishing. What worries me is, how will this actually work out in a game that seeks to function as Sims does. I mean, for example the coffe tables, one is somewhat covered by the bigger one so, would that rend it useless? How about the first sofa they placed, it seems to have any point an animation plays blocked off so, it'd just be there for the looks?
Not tyring to sink the proyect or so, I'm more than sure the team behind this has a tohusand and one creative ieas to solve problems I can't think of right now, but I truly am curious of what this game has to give and now that thye actually popped un on E3 (Or the events surrounding E3, for that matter) I can only have great hopes for Paralives.
Little PD I wanna throw out, the work they have right now is somethign I would already pay full prie to just have and mess around with. I've seen actual interior design focused applications less developed than this.

I'm more in the negative of this actually. The game looks awesome there is no doubt that but I believe team would need excellent optimization as well as really great ways of Paras to understand how each item will work. This depth of customization brings a lot of problems. Like how will Para's react when there is a chair between wall and enlarged table. What will happen when a Para sees a paining too high for them. Another thing is those different sized furnishings allowed less experienced builders to throw something fast no problem. I think this kind of customization will make it harder to enter the building scene. I support this game and I hope it does really great to start a good sort of competition with other life sim games.
@@metaboi488 the AI they use is one that adapts as it goes along. its used in some fighting game too (i forget the name. it sounded like it was something one shouldve heard of) yes there are things to consider, but they already are and the progress is looking great so

Without a doubt if Paralives lives up to expectations when it's finally released, it's going to blow EA out of the water at the top spot with the Sims. I wonder how closely EA are watching this and thinking how they can copy what you guys are doing for Sims 5 next year.
I agree with you; it's such a dumb concept to think about though, because you'd think that the people who MAKE THE SIMS would have done atleast have of these things a long time ago??😭 the fact that they might need to "copy" paralives is absurd to me but sadly true🙃

So true my exact expression. After the demo of adjusting table, windows, height of columns, hanging lamps, wall paintings. Ok everything we hoped for in TS. Suddenly. BOOM! THE SOFAS ADJUSTMENT. BOOM! THE BED ADJUSTMENT! Help my brain is too happy just by seeing these.
every time it looked like it couldn’t possibly get better, it did. my jaw is in a different country, this has me unbelievably excited for this game, the devs are insanely talented and the potential here is incredible
I like how the furniture comes with swatches already so us lazy people don’t have to color everything from scratch but also we can make our own colors
Yes, and I'm not a lazy person, but an indecisive one, so it's nice to have preselected colors that narrow down my options and I dont take forever trying to decide which shade on the color wheel works haha, but still great to have the option of a color wheel!!!! 😆😆

I wonder how it will work on file level. If there is a chance that all additional swatches are saved in specific folder, this could mean you could also just have a special swatch pack added by modders and community.

Lot history probably just mean that it let's you reset the house to before you made any changes. Or it's a list of other houses you've saved
@@simmernick9 Nah. I think your right it might be a history of builds you can restore. BUT they already confirmed there was going to be a town that comes with the game with lots you can demolish. Regardless I can’t wait to demolish old builds in order to progress my story and then be able to restore them when I don’t like where I went with it

Omg ikr. The level of greediness EA has. The country kitchen stuff didn’t even have that much variety in it, and then releasing a full expansion after, is just... wow the audacity. 😐😑
Why does this game gives me all the warm and fuzzy feelings? Like I’m about to cry, starting with background sounds, the animations, the carefully thought of considerations in building a house, etc. something that TS4 massively failed to accomplish.
This is actually, everything we ever wanted in those construction games.
Color choices, size choices, height choices.
This is the ultimate building game.
This could even work for architect job.
Can't wait, and yet i want devs to be happy with the release. So take your time guys, we will wait.
The fact that they even put in the effort of making pictures sizable to the frames you make and allow color customization of individual clutter is honestly insane. They’re so considerate of the small details
The pictures alone made me want the game lol I wonder if we can input our own pictures from our files or what not idk

You can also add the pictures you want, not sure if from mods or directly from the game.
It’s almost like they took all the things the sims community has been complaining about for years, and implemented those wishes into this game 🙌🏽✨
These aren't hard to implement once you have resizing and color customization for other items, but the fact that the sims doesn't do it makes it seem comparably impressive.
Not to knock this game or it's development though, the paralives devs are doing a really good job and I can't wait.
Why is nobody talking about the music? It's so good! Legit getting some feeling from me, it's like those early sims songs, it's totally going to leave a trace in my memory for the rest of my life.
It's very relaxing without being repetitive and annoying! You can really just have a good time building and playing.

The UI sounds are very satisfying. I'm so happy that there aren't "slots" for objects and clutter, it allows for so much more customization to make a place look lived in!

Never underestimate Paralives that was your first mistake
People thought Sim City would last forever due to how long it has dominated the genre... until Cities Skylines basically murdered it. Maybe Paralives could do the same to The Sims.
I believe there’s no game genre that can only be dominated by one franchise, and I also believe in enjoying multiple games of the same genre.

The recent Sim City was a failure and Cities Skylines rushed a game out to fill in that niche. Sim City killed itself and Cities Skylines came in as a replacement. Many people forget how bad Cities Skylines was at release because it was a rushed release, but since it wasn't as bad as Sim City it was able to capture the market. It would not have taken over if Sim City was a competent release from EA. Lots of updates over the years and Cities Skylines is a great game, EA would have to outdo them to recapture the market which would be hard at this point since loyalty has shifted.
I hope, ea is cocky and they need some competition. Even then it probably won't be enough. I've already stopped playing the sims. This game looks way better
I'm hoping that a fully flesh-out life sim game does eventually kill Sims. But this isn't going to be the one to do it. It's not going to be released anytime soon and when it finally does get released it's going to be another Hokko Life - a game released without any meaningful content.
You know what, EA/maxis are a MULTIMILLION dollar company, they have had the funds to do anything and everything, and they've chosen todo the bare minimum. Due to how low the bar has been set for these simulation kind of games, even the simplicity of a curved wall, being able to adjust the size of things freely, the colour palate.. etc, paralives hasn't even been released, or even had a release date, but we're all sat here gobsmacked at the care and attention to detail this team has achieved, but on the surface, these things are REALLY small details, and they make THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE. Paralives team listen & learn, they care about the audience that this will reach, EA have taken YEARS, litrally decades to introduce somthing as simple as a fucking LADDER and the world of simmers loose their mind, they charge ridiculous amounts of money for absolute garbage. I cannot wait for them to crash & burn when this is released

Yeah, but let's not forget some things. We are all loving the curved walls, the way you can make those steps dividing both ambients, and the ability to resize everything and so on. But we can't forget that this must be playable with your character. The character must be able to flawlessly interact with everything. Here we are seeing a beautiful house creator, but we're not seeing how the characters react to it. What if the character don't understand that those are steps, and they can't use them? It's still beautiful, but useless. I agree that EA has millions and millions, and could easily develop something like this. But at the same time it's still a game, not an architecture simulator. I have big hopes for Paralives, and I love some competition against the big dogs

Agree tho to be fair it's not the developers, they are limited by what EA allows. If EA sniff a chance to split content into 5 different packs they will make them do it. What you see here is creativity and passion not bound to a greedy overlord.

I love the graphics and the colour choice. I love the texture and everything. It looks so peaceful and cozy. I love the North American (especially Canadian) vibe of « la cabane à bois rond » it reminds me of renting a cottage in the Gatineau parc and just admiring the lake and the sunset. I can’t wait to play this game! Bravo à l’équipe, vous faites une très belle job!! ♥️♥️

Even if the characters interacting is what is unfinished, this would be perfect for my mother who only plays the sims yo build and then just let's the family auto play while she builds a new house.

How does it look done? Im excited for it but come on, all weve seen so far was building and creating, no gameplay and game features at all. All we’ve seen so far is a cool building tools, not a game.

I really hope that EA will learn their lesson when Paralives comes out. Their monopoly has to end; they’ve abused it for far too long. I’m sure that both companies can (and will) produce great games, but EA just needs a kick where the sun doesn’t shine

Title should be “11 Minutes of a game that I will spend 11 hours a day playing for 11 years.” The lighting looks so good. The object placement is so smooth. Colour wheels, customizable everything, it all looks so perfect.

I know right? Other people simulators will take insight from it. Good riddance, we need some tough competition to keep game developers grounded and listening, transforming their games through player base feedback.

A game developer (disambiguation) can range from one person who undertakes all tasks to a large business with employee responsibilities split between individual business functions. As such, programming, design, art and testing as well as management, marketing, finance and human resources and senior management to name a few.
The common and natural meaning would be the company to players who are not too into the game development cycle aspects of the game. As such, EA Games the game developer. You are right, middle and senior management have a lot of say, but the development team would have an indirect impact on the game, as well as the Design Lead. Overall, yes you are correct, senior management, marketing and business analytics would have a direct say and impinge the main development phase of the game (add-ons incl.) with strict deadlines.

The perso who put this together (THREE YEARS AGO?!) did a very good job at figuring out what features to highlight for the build mode.

this is what happens when a small indie company listens to the community's voices and is very transparent about everything they do and in return the people supports the group financially, it creates a masterpiece that the people cherish and love, thank you Paralives ;)

it's cool that the houses feel organic and lived in, like not every single chair is in perfect symmetry with the dining table or the kitchen island that's so cool

I feel this is a huge thing game designers miss when making interiors, especially houses. They all look too clean or perfect. The lighting, animations, and attention to detail make the game feel more lively than The Sims.

Looks like they are pretty close to finishing up build mode now the actual game play Parafolks animations clothing dogs cats and horses and so on so at least 3 more years.

On the other hand, this game does needs as much things as the Sims. For example windows. There are many windows on the Sims that are like recolours of themselves just a different size... :/

It’s probably because building is just one aspect of a life sim, we don’t really know how the AI is/how many things they put down are actually interactable or strictly decorative
@@Cuhnt Honestly even without that it's still dope I play a ton of survival games and building games and just seeing the amount of options with the building is INSANE I'd buy it just for that cause I've never played a house building game with so many options before (Sims 3 came sorta close with some things though) curved walls, split leveling, all the items being super adjustable with the sizing, texture and color it's almost overwhelming thinking about the awesome houses I could build with this.

welp as it stands now, regardless of how "live mode" interacts with the house, it still has the sims 4 beat in the one thing it was decent at, building. RIP the sims.

The customisation abilities of this build mode are limitless! However, I'm curious how this will play out gameplay-wise, regarding the AI's abilities to interact with little details placed on furniture.
Example: extra pillow in the middle of the bed. What happens to it when the AI goes to sleep? Does it disappear? Do they pick it up and place it in the nearest available surface? Do they toss it off the bed? OR does the way they interact depend on their personality traits?
Excited to find out more!

I believe if this were the case it would just disappear, either way that really doesn't matter as it absolutely wouldn't effect gameplay but I'm excited to see where this game goes!

@@cinnamonbun2667 i saw a thing a while back about procedural animation. Ie, the animation isn't the same every time because there's variables that are changed. It was originally about how not to get clipping when using the same animation to sit on different height chairs.
I assume it would be like that. Their but would get locked to the chair and the game would math how to turn the body towards what they want (think sims heads turning to each other when they speak) and then taking the best approach to move the required body parts in order for it to be where it's needed by the end of the animation.
The video i saw explained it pretty well, showing the examples of a high five between two different heights and different height chairs with the seating animation
Ive spent so much on the sims to get what feels like a "complete" game.. And the paralives team has almost all of it in base game.. Take my money.. 🔥

Can I just say the fact you have even the simplest thing as a Color Wheel is wonderful, but then you go and make everything 100% adjustable!?! Like holy shit! I really hope the game comes to fruition because I would buy this over Sims any day of the week hands down!

I love the sims 4, but I have to admit…this looks a lot better, has nicer music and doesn’t cost me 400 dollars just so I can have dogs in the game along with doctors and all the jobs that aren’t just things from movie troupes
Also the circular option for walls is so nice!
Yeah we wants some beta releases, however I'm most interested I. Gameplay(not builds), especially seeing that this is where sims is really lacking in Sims 4.

I feel like sims has stolen a lot of ideas from these videos.
Would be quite interesting to see how the characters in game would route/interact with uneven or misaligned objects (e.g. how would they sit on a table where the chair is not set straight to a table edge). Can't wait to see how his develops further!
Right now thats my biggest concern, especially knowing how wonky sims are in their interactions with objects
I heard they will use a different engine than Sims does. One like in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, where the character can interact with anything and it never looks wonky.
The devs talked about this topic on a post on their patreon a while ago, last year sometime. If im remembering correctly they were trying to program the animations to adjust real-time to the object thats being interacted with. I dont want to say too much since I cant remember exactly what it said, but I do remember them talking about it. Since I'm not a patreon at the moment I cant go look it up.

It looks better and better every time. All this clutter, this ability to customise almost every single piece in this house. Even one window gives a ton of creativity. This house definitely looks like one a real person could build. I like it. Absolutely 😍

I love how there isn't anything WEIRD that doesn't fit in at all. All the furniture/decorations are things you would HAVE in REAL life not some random SPACESHIP BUILDER IN YOUR BACKYARD or something that has a specific pattern that will NOT fit in with any design. Thank you Paralives

I like having weird furniture but stuff that's necessary for specific gameplay like making cupcakes or career-required items shouldn't have nothing but a weird option. I hope that there will be some weird items but always with another more versatile-looking item that does the same thing.

i can see paralives' unique style in this. the world is tranquil but alive, and the house is themed in a warm brown and beige pallete. they've also done something with the lighting to make it warm. overall it's so welcoming, relaxing and satisfying to look at. i'm absolutely in love with the paralives team's creative choices

Lots of comments talking about EA, and it's justified. The salt is real! Indie devs just made a *multi-billion dollar company* look like the dirty thieves they are. We're tired of the false advertising and empty promises. It's about time that Maxis gets some actual competition! The Paralives Team deserves the recognition and support for keeping a close ear to the community, and for all the hard work they're putting into this beautiful game!

I got so hyped when EA revealed they were making a 4th sims game,only to find out it wasn’t going to be as realistic I anticipated it would be.I got so,so mad that they made the game look good when in reality there wasn’t half of the features what we were used to.Like the sims 3 when you could make custom hair colours and the sims 2 being able to choose different colours for the headboard and the sheets.
Bruh right?? When EA dropped Sims 4 cottage living and went 'well yeah we got lots of farm stuff here and could easily add horses but we won't because they need their own pack' and it's like yeah no it's because you want to have people spend even more money for a seperate pack.
I love that there's just so many possibilities... with just only ONE object!!!

@2freeIvX certain objects seem to have limited to no resize/reshape options. The chairs don't seem to have any and the sofas only have the option to remove pillows. I reckon this is because these objects are interactable. Rotation is a lot easier, although I'm curious to see how the AI's pathing and collision is gonna work. Procedual animation has come a long way too and maybe they plan to use that in some way. The hardest part is allowing sitting characters to interact with tables they are near.
I'm 34 years old now. I will play this even if I'm over 40s when you launch it. Take your time to do the best you can :)

I mean atleast Ea’s giving us sectionals now, but they don’t have modular pillows, it’s been 6 years since release and in a pack, while Paralives has it in BASE GAME at LAUNCH
Looking at Paralives compared to The Sims is like getting out of a bad relationship (doesn't have to be romantic) then meeting someone new that treats you the way they're supposed to treat people. Slightly resentful that someone mistreated you for so long, but happy to have someone that treats you well. I'm really looking forward to this game.
