" With bugs and missing features " is the realist thing a developer can truthfully say and I'm ok with that because I know what to expect and I'm excited for it all.
My Time at Sandrock was like that when it was first released and it's one of the best games ever. It's been a year and a half and has a ton of content now that's it's officially released. I fully expect Paralives will be a similar experience since they actually listen to player feedback.
it was a really wise thing to say because they know the hype around the game and many don't really understand what they're getting into with an early access game
Looks like they want to make this game into a platform which they can build on over the years, instead of releasing paralives 2 a few years later. That's cool
That friend is me, I love how it's like for the npcs, group exercise? out of the blue? Okay? one try, lit one push up and straight up hell nah, you go on but no me XD
The art style just makes you feel so at home. Like you're home alone, sitting in a window seat on a sunny day, listening to your favorite music that's a little nostalgic, sipping your favorite beverage... just basking
The Sims 3 had this and Rod Humble who was Game Dir for TS2/3 is with Paradox making Life By You (another Sims competitor) Excited to get both this and that one
@@Jus_Joj I agree somewhat. The "sentences" are so short it sounds like they just took their first class in how to speak it and can only say "hello" and "how are you?"
The way conversations naturally flow based on your personality, your environment, your relationship status, the circumstances around the characters... That is so cleverly implemented!! 😭
Yes, even the good sim games have a repetitive gameloop of "talk, talk, joke, talk, play, hug, kiss, hug, kiss, marry" for all relationships. This is refreshing
For real, sometimes I would make characters in the Sims 4 and do woohoo speedruns out of boredom 😂 It's just no fun interacting with other Sims! Honestly, the gameplay (AND the decorative freedom, did you see those clutter placements?!?!) looks like SUCH a breath of fresh air! I would love to play Paralives as a proper game, and not just as a "character/house creator" (which is all I use TS4 for nowadays...).
“Paralives will never have paid DLC.” Wow I am completely blown away by how amazing these developers are. The preview looks absolutely fantastic and I can’t wait to see more ❤️
The thing i love the most about this is the fact that the game feels natural. They're not trying to be funny all the time or being exagerated in the gameplay. No over the top emotions and interactions or (un)funny situations and animations happening all the time. Just a life simulation with a natural and equilibrated flow. I'm so here for this!!!
I really agree, that's what makes the sims 4 really annoying to me. It's like the gameplay is super stiff and when something actually happens all sims act super silly and do unnatural stuff like EA thinks that's funny ._.
Yeah I like silly in a Sims game, but I find that Sims 4 silliness feels artificial and unfunny. (Sims 2 was the height of the most authentic feeling silliness, and I think Sims 3 wasn't as artificial as Sims 4 but not quite as authentic as Sims 2.)
The para's personality being something you have to actively work on is a fascinating concept. It's definitely a good way to solve the issue of getting bored of your character over time, and would incentivize people to play a character as young as possible so that they have most of their personality sorted out by the time theyre an adult like most actual people. Amazing work❤
Completely agree with this! Don’t get me wrong, I love the sims.. but I always find it hard to keep myself entertained for long periods of time. It just becomes boring and monotonous after awhile. This seems so different in the best way
That's the perfect way to describe it 😮 and you're right; by working on the personality as a youngster, the adult Paras would be fully fleshed out... or maybe they could do a 360° and start changing as they get older like in real life.
@josepedrodavilalimastorto3514 that's fair, I didn't even realize that! There aren't really negative options, not even "low empathy" or "bad at making friends". The most I saw was the grumpy personality. I'm hoping we get some less than pleasant personalities and interactions
If I’m not going to be paying for expansion, you can bet your ass I’m going to join the patreon near early release time - this is such amazing progress. I’ve really gone from “this will scare EA enough to improve the sims” to “I’m so excited to play THIS game” from everything I’ve seen. So excited for all the work you folks have done
i love that when speaking in a group, a question will receive answers from all participants! what an effective way to add social interactions to the game without it becoming a long loop of clicking actions i do wonder what the player does for the hour of talking before the cards show up?
I think it would be cool if you could follow up on the replies Like using the small replies you get as a sort of thread to shape a conversation Say you just click on the reply and the conversation shifts that way
I would guess there will be other base interactions beyond just talking; on top of that, there are a number of other group activities you could likely switch between to fill the meter-we see dancing on the menu, and it's possible there will be others like performing music, playing a video game, cooking, etc.
@@AaronL0905 yeah, even speeding up that's a long ass time to wait until choosing another conversation interaction. Time goes by for the sim even if we speed it up. I love that it's not that easy to progress relationships though, and that it would take until the bar fills up to do some bigger-deal interactions. But only three choices, once an hour? Smaller things too, like ask about career? I'm scared what I first described could stay that way because it would be so bad for me. Maybe if you could do some less impactful interactions it could speed up the bar? Or if the bar filling up could be like non-consecutive. Like we chat for half an hour on tuesday and another half hour on thursday so then the cards pop up. But I'd still need to have less impactful interactions like "ask about career" to be an option more often (and have a lot more options each time of that type). I love the idea of the cards, still, I'd hope they stay. But yeah, scared. Gotta have faith in the team though, they're really really good. Plus, they'll have player feedback at some point.
@@AaronL0905i like the threads idea! maybe you could circle back to something you were told earlier. i do think each option steers the conversation towards different moods and topics
God my Sims 4 needlessly tortured brain noticed the egg splat kitchen rug and immediately thought "a funky cool rug? In BASE game? Without a dlc pack required to use the item???!!" Simply amazing haha! Oh I can't wait for Paralives!
@@julied7546 Tour vans are notorious for powerfully concentrated body odor, which is a disgusting but inevitable consequence of such a high-intensity, low-turnaround lifestyle. I miss those days until I remember the stench lol
I love that. Seems like they’re going for quality over quantity wich is honestly a great approach. When the content is good and well implemented it doesn’t have to be super complicated. The game seems simple and minimalistic, but not in a way that feels lacking. I can’t wait to finally be able to try this game out for myself when it comes out. I just know already from what we’ve been shown so far that it will be such a comforting and relaxing game to play to wind down after a long day.
@@silh3345yes! a nice thought out game is always appreciated by players. not rushing and taking your time is a way to ensure success. putting out content that people wait for and are excited for should be a goal for all game companies
This is quite cozy and I feel an escapism when this comes out. Love how the game feels (I think) slower paced too. You can't just spam romance and get married in 24 hours.
This is what i'm so excited about. I Hope they implement a nice memory system. I want to Play Out realistic storylines and with i will be able to do that!
I hope they implement more relationship options while creating a para than parent or married. Or really easy cheats for relationships because creating friends or a not married couple would be a pain
and im sure they'll develop compatibility so it makes it even more realist. the fact that u can never be rejected in the S*** is unrealistic and unauthentic tbh
I think they will heavily focus on the development of text boxes for interaction, it will be so good to have countless interactions over time with new updates
Finally a game I would actually feel more than happy to pay for. I love the look, I love the whole vibe, it's calming and the tiny details with their interactions omg. And i love their voices, just the right amount of pitch not any of that ridiculous squealing every sentence. It actually feels like they're talking like humans.
I absolutely love that wants/needs are personified. It's not a 3rd person speaking, it's the Parafolk directly telling us that they wish to be watched, fed, entertained and so on. It feels so much more like playing with someone who is indeed alive and quite aware of what's going on around them.
I would also love if they have conversations doing so, in every other Life Sims, they just approach everywhere only to have specific dual conversations, but never group walks, group walk mid-talk, and even group activities whilst chatting together during them.
I’m so excited for the secret crush feature! I’ve wanted something like that for years because it’s way more realistic and fun than two characters immediately falling in love and getting married the same day. Plus the cozy vibes are everything ❤️
i’m so impressed by that first kiss animation!! it was so natural and tender- very rare for a game to do that so well. keep up the good work paralives team!!!
I'm so proud of how this game has moved over the years. For a long time I was thinking of it as "a good looking Sims clone" but this video has really shown the things that make it a distinct, different take on life simulators as a game genre
The more patrons they have, the more people they could get on the team / ressources they can attire to put the game in the best possible shape at launch! Also the early access phase could be shortened significantly as well
I love how when they converse, it’s not just random topics about whatever, the “together cards” actually refer to real-time events!!! That allows gameplay to be deeper, so I think that’s amazing ❤
I like the sense of progression with all the unlockables. Only criticism i have is when u select para's for a group thing they SNAP out of what theyre doing and immediately do it like robots. It would be more organic if they "finished up" what they were doing and have an animation that overall makes the switch more smooth. Like when u selected them all to talk as a group, instead of immediately walking over to a person they could wave while walking over.
Yeah I agree, I'd like Paras to have more autonomy like that. They should get to choose what they want, if we're not actively controlling them we should only be able to nudge them towards doing what we want
Yeah, it would be nice if there was an animation where you could "disturb" them, like an apology and introduction for strangers it is you know them already, a wave a loud greating from afar etc. Depending on the situation and their traits strangers might refuse to talk to you also might be an idea to consider?
Just want to say, I LOVE how the para in this video looks! It strikes the perfect balance between cartoony and realistic, it's not too detailed but I can see how different expressions and such could easily be added. The colors are all really beautiful as well. Definitely hope this style is what the devs go with!
Exactly because you shouldn't need to take up a personality slot just to set your sims food preferences. And being a vegetarian isn't even a personality trait to begin with, lol. (Unless you are some type of stereotypical hippie) The Sims still need to revamp the trait system and put the vegetarian trait into the 'likes and dislikes' selection instead since they added that. It would make more sense
@@Virg0z This is random but wish I could set my sims favorite food to chocolate. With all the chocolate items we have I wouldn't mind making them live only on it. Lol
0:59 being able to get a job based on qualifications is a really good idea. In [another game][ for example, you can max out a skill and when you start a new job its at Level 1
As an avid sims player for nearly 20 years, I have never rooted for the direct COMPETITION of one of my favorites. I have high hopes for this project, just for the integrity and hard work that comes with the development. You really can tell when a team puts effort and care into a project that hasn't been turned into a cash cow yet, and I'm hoping Paralives paves a way for life sims to HUMBLE The Sims and EA.
Seriously, I've been playing Sims since I got Sims 1 as a literal child and loved all the games until Sims 3 but EA has really gone off the rails with the recent full release packs. I really don't feel like supporting a multi billion dollar corporation that makes full paying customers beta test their buggy unfinished games. Very excited to try a new life sim that isn't made by EA!
Regardless of how strongly you're rooting for something, you should always root for competition. Monopolies are terrible for the consumer in EVERY market, causing unfavorable pricing, stagnant or even decreasing quality over time, corporate laziness, lack of innovation, etc. It shouldn't take until your fave company goes to sh** to support alternatives, and yet that's what everyone seems to do in some sort of catty middleschooler mentality.
@@kokoapebbles My point is that it took THIS LONG, it took EA going absolutely off the deep end into greed and laziness for people to realise "oh yeah.... Maybe monopolies aren't that great." For years, any time any alternative would even be considered (even fakes/hoaxes), there were fans acting like "you will NEVER be the Sims, you copycat! stop copying and find your own game genre. life sims are ONLY for the Sims!" It's only since Sims 4 was trash that the majority have been open to the idea of competition (some also started to turn due to the microtransaction store in Sims 3, but I'm pretty certain that was a minority group). This commenter even said it "I have never rooted for the direct competition of my favorites" why? Again, you should always be rooting for competition, not just when sh** hits the fan. The Sims came out in the year 2000. If you think there hasn't been a SINGLE potential competitor in over 20 years and they're only JUST popping up now, then you're delusional. There are no competitors simply because fans of the Sims refused to support them until Sims 4 was bad.
The Sims does require competition so they'll feel pressure to improve, this game and InZOI will bring competitiveness in the niche 😊, competitiveness that is also needed for the city-building genre as Cities Skylines 2's launch was horrendous, and just like EA, Paradox is greedy with their DLCs 😩.
I'd truly appreciate it if they could introduce a feature that specifically enables us to play with our friends. The idea is not to turn it into an online platform for meeting strangers but to enhance the gaming experience by allowing us to share it exclusively with our friends. As a dedicated Sims player, I've been longing to enjoy The Sims with my friends. Playing solo tends to become monotonous after a few weeks, resembling a repetitive cycle, almost like working with a CAD program. The key here is emphasizing the multiplayer aspect, creating an opportunity for a more engaging and dynamic gaming experience with friends.
It's crazy how far this game has come. I still vividly remember the Maggie video from 2019 and i can't believe we have a release window. I am so excited. This definitely looks like it was well worth the wait and i really hope this blows the sims out of the water.
Well... you just telled us a story using no words, just the gameplay. It was so natural. Paralives seems like something new for the Life Sim genere, because it is not something like "Sims 3 comeback". By the way - there is some genius person behind the UX/UI design. So refreshing.
I’ve been supporting this game for the past 3 years and I’m so proud of how far it’s come along! I’ve also been a Patreon supporter for those 3 years, so I know just how hard the entire team has been working. You guys are doing AMAZING ❤Can’t wait for the early access release!
I know lot of this stuff was on patreon already but its just SO different to see full video like this instead of snap shot here and there. It's amazing how far it has come from single person project paralives started as to see this and with early access announced :O
I love that there is a general music skill and then for different instruments! I guess it will be similar with Food including baking and cooking for example? I think that's a great system and a good reflection on how skills work in real life!
I really like the back to basics approach that focuses on what the person's daily life is actually like. There's work to be done on animations and fleshing out the language, but considering we're a year out from early access, everything we've seen about this game has been very impressive
My girlfriend and I have been waiting for the release of this game for years! I'm privileged to be among the selected content creators who got to see this video in advance, a huge thanks to the entire team!
Such a giving game, free expansions, artistic visuals, realistic interactions and relationships, already better than all (ehem, that one) life sim games
@ds7590 Sims fans who have never experienced a respectable games company are so funny 😂 ever heard of No Mans Sky, Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Terraria, etc. etc. etc. the list goes on.
@ds7590 Buuuuutttttt those who don't join the Patreon also get free updates/packs, soooo....much different than that other life sim game that is well over $1100 to have all the content offered AND keeps breaking what could be one huge DLC into much smaller ones to rake in the cash.
the world feels so alive, it's just adorable???? and the gameplay is so calming, normally i get stressed when i play the sims because the sounds and music are just so jarring, but this really seems like a cozy game you can relax and wind down with! super awesome, and i'm excited for the release when it's ready!!
The feel of the game is so familiar... It's so cozy and laid back like sims 2 was for. The lighting is like a warm spring evening... Not too bright and not dark. I love it!
It was good to show some progress. I remember a couple of month ago, the team was getting a lot of flack for not showing progress. Those who support of Patreon have seen a lot of these updates. Even still, some things were a surprise. I'm excited to see this game get released.
Ngl I teared up watching this. This is the first time I felt excited for a life sim since I was a child (I’m 25 now). Thank you for giving me that excited feeling again. Good job Parateam
i teared up too. seeing this being an idea of one person until a whole crew formed to how it is right now feels amazing as a fan of the concept. the game was formed with love and love we see it forming to its upcoming release. 😭✨🥳
I am BLOWN AWAY by the charm this game has. The interactions are done so well and the MUSIC! Massive shout out to the audio team for such a relaxing soundtrack.
I've been following for a very long time and was a supporter on patreon back before Sebastian was even introduced. I just have to say I am so blown away by where you guys have gotten to today and I am so happy that you are able to follow your dreams and turn them into a reality. Watching this you can really tell that this game has LOVE put into it and that you guys clearly love what you are creating. This game doesn't feel like a soulless cash cow it feels like a real passion project. I am so excited to see how it continues to grow and develop.
Guyyss... 😭 7:12 this made me cry... Like really... I remember when "other game" was super popular and my parents couldn't afford any DLCs... You're curing my inner child. Thank you so much. I'm waiting for early access I will love each bugs, errors and glitches ❤ I appreciate so much what you are doing.
realistically this just means that a while after the game new official content will just stop being created whatsoever because there's no money to be made with it though.
@@FiresideCatsmile Realistically, plenty of other games include new content for free all the time. It just depends on whether or not the company is greedy and profit-hungry. Enough of this capitalistic brainwashing bs. People are allowed to have passion projects. You do not NEED a profit to make something accessible. Grow up.
@@FiresideCatsmileI think that was said on the website detailing the games progress. Even still, tons of games like hollow Knight have free dlcs (I think hollow Knight does, that's what I've heard but Ive never checked it out myself). If the base game sells well and they keep patreon going there's no reason they shouldn't be able to find updates/dlcs for free.
@@tulioco.5711 Absolutely. Where there's passion there's also a way and especially with Patreon I think people could definitely appreciate when a product is made with passion. And even if not, don't get me wrong - I don't think there's a problem when a game is just "done" at some point and there's no DLC coming anymore. Used to be the standard in the past anyways.
Though he appeared for a brief moment, I relate most to "Mustache Man" lol One thing I wish simulation games and rpgs have are more facial hair options, with a distinct difference between the mustache and beard.
I love that you can do things as a group in this game! Also really like how Carl gave Anisa a job opportunity through dialogue. THIS IS THE GAMEPLAY DEPTH WE NEED!!!
I genuinely love everything about this. It’s so different from all the other simulation games in development. The interactions, the relationships, the way jobs work… but I really hope the game has a panel that shows all the needs stats. Not just the ones that are in the yellow or red.
Guys, if you loved this video like I did, i really recomend you become patreons of Paralives!!!! Seriously, I am a patreon on the first tier, I pay only 3€ per month and every Friday I get exciting updates on their progress on the game!!! It is so so worth it. A lot of these features were already showcased previously on Patreon posts so, i just get this warm feeling that this game is a like a baby and i am watching it grow ❤ Really can't wait for 2025, it has been such a beautiful journey!
yeah im thinking im gonna start after my next paycheck. i was a patreon for a lil bit some years ago when i was just leaving high school, but i think it’s time i come back 🙏🏾
I'm on their Patreon too, it's so neat to see all the little updates they make every week! Seeing things like the food they recently modeled, the crew interviews and pictures and even silly things like the crazy bugs they've encountered, it's such a fascinating peek under the hood of game development.
WOAH I didnt know that thank you so much for sharing that! I always wanted to join their Patreon to support them, but I didn't know that it was regular updates about these features! I have to ask, do they also sometimes ask the community about certain features or have like polls for them to vote on?
I really like how much work goes into actually making friends in the game. It’s creates a fun challenge than just spamming a few interactions and then you’re best friends… like a certain life sim I won’t name… I also adore the secret crush interaction! I would use this all the time! It just makes so much sense. And I love how you can develop a music knowledge skill that helps improve learning any instrument, it’s way more realistic. You can really see the time and care you guys put into this game! I can’t wait to play!
I love how relationship categories can be one-sided. And one thing they didn't highlight is all the work they've put in to make this game modable and all the settings that can be tweaks if desired as well.
I'm absolutely loving this, my favorite part is how organic wishes, personality, job systems, and skills are. it just feels like it all fits together just like in real life, most people don't have that like, lifetime wish or whatever, and i very rarely bother playing with them. not to mention the social system!! you actually feel involved in the relationships your sims form, the cards that come up all make sense, and it doesn't feel very gamified, like do x to achieve y, its more just, allowing you to steer the direction of the relationship.
Wow... I don't know, but seeing this just gives me so much joy. There's a little management perspective to things - like the way you earn points and can choose where to spend them in your work. That just gives me some really good vibes... Maybe it's nostalgia? Or maybe it's just the fact that it's different from what I'm used to (sims) and refreshing? I'm not sure, but either way, I'm happy to see it! Some things I still have to get used to, like the social aspect - but I feel like it's the matter of getting to know it better through use. Again, it's just so different than what I'm used to with the sims.. But I really like it that you're thinking outside of the box and you're truly making your own game with all sorts of unique, new aspects, instead of just making a sims replica! Paralives is really starting to take shape, and its taking its own shape. If things keep on going like this, I think this can become a big, recognisable title just like the sims. I can't wait to experience it!
cant recommend becoming a patron enough. in an age where a lot of indie game devs get lost in the weeds of scope/feature creep and drown, paralives has been communicative and honest about their stretch goals going only to more devs to work on this game. all the expansions we'd expect aren't a goal, they're just a given. genuinely refreshing. getting to see together cards in action is great! i love that they take time to reappear, making each choice feel more unique and something worth putting some thought into. i wasn't 100% sold on the job upgrades but seeing how they work i like them! it's not an instant mash to the jobs' top rank. love love being able to have situational relationships and one sided crushes. thank you paralives team! take all the time you need, i'll be so thrilled to finally play early access
I’m sure we all know on notables example of a terrible indie which would the creep and p3d0 himself, YanDev. He could never attain this level of success that Paralives has.
Maybe it is speaking too soon but i would love flaws to be part of the personality system Like you have to spend your upgrade to remove/mitigate a flaw
I love how organic and contextual the interactions are. It feels more realistic, and I love how you will have to work to obtain the relationships that you want with other Paras.
I love the concept of giving your Para a "personality vibe" instead of just traits.😊 The Together Cards are a super engaging and fun concept as well! I can imagine that they help a lot at exploring gameplay in new and different ways over and over again
This makes me want to cry. This is everything thing that I've wanted from the franchise I fell in love with as a kid 20 years ago and have fallen out of love with as it became so shallow and robotic.... This gives RPG and life sims new life and I can't wait. I was a patreon supporter for a long time but had to give it up when I started college this last fall. Rest assured I wish I could support in any other way so I tell my friends and other folks and will try to spread the word hahahahah
You guys have truly impressed me, I havent been excited for a life simulation game in so long... A team that listens will always reap the benefits. You're sitting on a billion dollar game, take my money!!!
This game has progressed much faster than I anticipated from its very first post with Alex and I’m so impressed to see how far you guys have come as a team. Wishing the entire Paralives team nothing but the best once the game fully launches.
I absolutely LOVE the way you guys programmed the character development! It's so in depth!! Been waiting and watching for this game and now I am SO excited for 2025!!!
I'm just afraid all paras will become Gary Stues if you play long enough. That's kind of what happens with Sims 2 aspiration skills, even when they have terrible personalities. I want to have assh0les and dumb4sses no matter how developed as a character
i love the fact that this game rewards you for actually playing it. it feels like theres always somethng to work for and that you cant literally speedrun it in a day.. im so excited to play this
This is great! I love the relationship cards, and the fact a Para can offer someone a job from a conversation is a great touch. The subtlety in the animations, how it’s not overly dramatic like the Sims, I’m so excited you showed the live mode. You guys have come so far and I’m excited for this. Def a day one purchase for me. And the fact you’re going the No Man’s Sky route of free updates is just icing on the cake.
This trailer low key made me tear up a little bit. I have been supporting and following y'all for years. Told as many friends as I can about this game and now that a trailer is here with a release year I just cannot contain my excitement. This trailer was beautiful. The graphics are so pretty, the interactions between everyone and everything and how seamless and flawless everything is. I absolutely adore the together bar and how interactions aren't just dry back and forth clicking of interactions. And I adore the hiring of jobs and how there was like 3 different things to choose from and it was from a hiring sign. I couldn't be more excited and happy. I am so proud of y'all
I see 1,000 hours easily going into this game when it comes out. I’m so excited! Thank you for your patience with this deprived community, I know we ask for a lot!
YEESSSS this is everything I've ever wanted out of a life sim!! I love how different aspects of a relationship level up, and the social cards are spontaneous, but still give the player control. I was wary of the career points at first, but they actually seem like another great way to give the player more control over their Para's career, as well as giving choice over whether or not they get promoted. And that they have to be qualified for the jobs and don't start immediately!!! And the "vibe" actually influencing social interactions, and the personality being upgradable!!! No DLC! I could cry, I'm so excited for this!!!
I LOVE the simplicity (not shady!) of the social menu! I don't necessarily always want to choose what they talk about. The contextual social cards seem really interesting - if done well. I was put off at first, but they did grow on me as the video went on. The "grouping" feature of being able to select characters is also seamless + simple. Love the direction!
I love the art style so much. I feel like games in general have forgotten how to be visually creative and just want to push the realistic approach. The problem with that is it doesn’t allow you to stand out from others. When people see this game, they’re gonna know it’s Paralives the same way someone looks at Borderlands or TellTale Games. I really appreciate when a game has its own identity. Looking forward to playing Paralives next year!

I love how it feels more like an RPG! Makes it feel like you're actually playing as the character.
I instantly felt way more connected to this character than I ever have to my characters in the sims! They actually feel like people.

This lets me more positive than the art style.

It's accurate sometimes. Gotta make those relationships, needs be damned.
I also love that general wants and whatnot show up in the same place as basic needs so that the indicator of severity can be applied to anything
truely a Sims moment
The thing i love the most about this is the fact that the game feels natural. They're not trying to be funny all the time or being exagerated in the gameplay. No over the top emotions and interactions or (un)funny situations and animations happening all the time. Just a life simulation with a natural and equilibrated flow. I'm so here for this!!!
Yes!!! That's what makes sims 4 too silly sometimes. I like that we can finally have something more neutral
We’re evolving back to Sims 2/3 and that’s a really good thing
I really agree, that's what makes the sims 4 really annoying to me. It's like the gameplay is super stiff and when something actually happens all sims act super silly and do unnatural stuff like EA thinks that's funny ._.
@@barbarapagnocca Sometimes? It's always silly. Even death is silly in The Sims.
I just don’t get why there’s no evil traits, it would give the game better storytelling

i love that when speaking in a group, a question will receive answers from all participants! what an effective way to add social interactions to the game without it becoming a long loop of clicking actions
i do wonder what the player does for the hour of talking before the cards show up?
I think it’s an in game hour so you can speed it up so the “hour” goes by faster. Similar to Sims gameplay.
I think it would be cool if you could follow up on the replies
Like using the small replies you get as a sort of thread to shape a conversation
Say you just click on the reply and the conversation shifts that way
I would guess there will be other base interactions beyond just talking; on top of that, there are a number of other group activities you could likely switch between to fill the meter-we see dancing on the menu, and it's possible there will be others like performing music, playing a video game, cooking, etc.

This is what i'm so excited about. I Hope they implement a nice memory system. I want to Play Out realistic storylines and with i will be able to do that!
I hope they implement more relationship options while creating a para than parent or married. Or really easy cheats for relationships because creating friends or a not married couple would be a pain

It would be cool if they could continue talking as they walked together, and walked side by side as a trio on the way!
Yes that would be so nice!
Like they said it’s unfinished it could be subject to change. I’m sure they will.
I would also love if they have conversations doing so, in every other Life Sims, they just approach everywhere only to have specific dual conversations, but never group walks, group walk mid-talk, and even group activities whilst chatting together during them.
I'm sorry but the kiss animation is so darn cute, it feels so soft and loving and I adore it with my whole heart

I love how when they converse, it’s not just random topics about whatever, the “together cards” actually refer to real-time events!!! That allows gameplay to be deeper, so I think that’s amazing ❤
Yes! game immersion🎉
Depending on the situation and their traits strangers might refuse to talk to you also might be an idea to consider?
a lot of the animations are unfinished. this is more of a gameplay overview than a gameplay development thing

Just want to say, I LOVE how the para in this video looks! The colors are all really beautiful as well. Definitely hope this style is what the devs go with!
I absolutely love that vegetarianism is an OPTION not a personality trait! And I love the personality leveling up!
True, for me it was terribly strange to treat it as a character trait.
Tbh? Based
Honestly yeah the Sims team did us dirty with the vegetarian and lactose intolerant personality traits
Exactly because you shouldn't need to take up a personality slot just to set your sims food preferences. And being a vegetarian isn't even a personality trait to begin with, lol. (Unless you are some type of stereotypical hippie)
The Sims still need to revamp the trait system and put the vegetarian trait into the 'likes and dislikes' selection instead since they added that. It would make more sense

@@JenniferDDavies absolutely! The possibilities…. I can’t wait
I love how this gameplay looks. It looks built to have a real sense of progression while being able to craft the story you want for your para.
I’ll rewatch this 1M times till the release 😭❤️
Eu também 🥰❤️
Yes it's time 🥹
They'll probably reveal more by then lol
@@meltedprincess true though
Cant wait for them to show of family gameplay! Im sure it’ll be so sweet and heartwarming. Also the open world aspects
the scenery blew me away, i'm so excited by all the interactions in the game. can't wait for early access! paralivesssssssss
fr imma cop this
im sorry but the sound of that kiss gave me butterflies omg it was so realistic and cute im sobbing
cant recommend becoming a patron enough. in an age where a lot of indie game devs get lost in the weeds of scope/feature creep and drown, paralives has been communicative and honest about their stretch goals going only to more devs to work on this game. all the expansions we'd expect aren't a goal, they're just a given. genuinely refreshing. getting to see together cards in action is great! i love that they take time to reappear, making each choice feel more unique and something worth putting some thought into. i wasn't 100% sold on the job upgrades but seeing how they work i like them! it's not an instant mash to the jobs' top rank. love love being able to have situational relationships and one sided crushes. thank you paralives team! take all the time you need, i'll be so thrilled to finally play early access
I can't afford it, but you bet I would.
I was when I could afford it, will be beck to it once I have a job again. I can't wait to play it
@@truffiethestreamer same, If I wasn't paying off debt I sure as hell would be involved with their paid patreon stuff
I’m sure we all know on notables example of a terrible indie which would the creep and p3d0 himself, YanDev. He could never attain this level of success that Paralives has.
Paralives really out here saving life simulations
sleeping habits, cleaning habits? that’s so cool! tell you what though, id love to see a social flaw section added! maybe if ur charisma is too low?
Good idea! I really loved the fatal flaw mechanic of Sims Medieval, would love to see similar in more games.
Maybe it is speaking too soon but i would love flaws to be part of the personality system
Like you have to spend your upgrade to remove/mitigate a flaw
Completely agree. I don’t want all my sims to be capable, sometimes you just wanna play a real wet loser. a real sodden talentless freak.
THAT WOULD BE SO COOL. SOCIAL FLAWS >>
Paralives my beloved, cant wait to be part of the growing community waaaaa
I love how organic and contextual the interactions are. It feels more realistic, and I love how you will have to work to obtain the relationships that you want with other Paras.
I love the concept of giving your Para a "personality vibe" instead of just traits.😊
The Together Cards are a super engaging and fun concept as well! I can imagine that they help a lot at exploring gameplay in new and different ways over and over again
And the relationships build!!
@@ellaelliott4415 Yes!! That's suprr cool too. I can't wait to try it once the game's been released
Yesss the other game is so gimmicky now im glad this one has so much life in it
Haven't played a life simulation game ever since The Sims 3, this game rekindled the passion I had for this genre.
Looking forward to playing Paralives next year!
this seems like SUCHH a cosy game to play!!! this is the dream cosy life simulator
This games personality and charm is on another level. Fantastic work …
