I sure wish Toyota would bring over their diesel trucks/land cruiser to NA, saying that the price per unit would go up so much, for the diesel motor. I can't wait for the new series to come out, you guys do amazing work, and always give me ideas for my own videos. thanks XO.

We got a 200 Series in December. Absolutely awesome vehicle. We're running the 4.5L twin turbo diesel though which is by far more popular here in Australia.
Do you guys have all the retarded emissions standards in Oz? DEF is a real bastard to deal with when you have temperatures that can go down to -40C or F. And DPF with EGR just kills engines period.
Yes unfortunately we have the DPF. I'm putting a catch on to help with longevity but you can't put a decent exhaust with the DPF.
TACMED Australia the thing about emission standards is...it helps to mitigate environmental fallout. If we don't do that, there is nothing to go Overlanding to see. FFS.
We only have access to the 5.7 V8 200 Series unfortunately. Toyota thinks that the US doesn't want diesels but that's furthest from the case. I imagine if they offered the Tacoma, similar to your Hilux and ours is only offered with 2TR 4cyl or 2GR V6, it would boost sales tremendously and be direct competition for the Chevy/GMC Colorado/Canyon diesel variant they just introduced.
I don't want diesel. I live in a cold climate, had diesel farm trucks, nothing but a pain in the ass.
can't wait to see your adventure in the future. great vehicles except the 200 is likely going to be over it's GVW when you add the roof rack with gear....

Thanks for the update. However, I was hoping for a 70-series LC or perhaps a diesel Tacoma with front and rear factory lockers. Yes, that was wishful thinking.
Diesel toys in TX can put a D4D in a Tacoma... for about $30K giver or take a little. While Toyota has not made any some do exist. also some guys have put cummins 4BT in Tacoma’s.

Amazing addition! Was actually on the phone with CBI today, talking about the shipment of my rear bumper with spare swing away (which should be here next week !). After mentioning you guys, they said you just happened to be there. Didn't realize this is what that was all about, so sweet!

But the landcruisers are really well built, have a strong and reliable v8, have a really nice interior, and are very capable offroad

2016 or 2017 model? Clay also mentioned it has an Icon "Stage 6" suspension setup on it. Didn't realize a Stage 6 kit was available for the 200 Series LC.

you might want to put some acrylic between the tables and the mount. In South America those tables will be pretty muddy, once you get going. Not very good for material you want to place there.

How are you guys going to utilize the champaign cooler in the center console? You guys inspired me to go to my local Toyota dealership not too long ago. I got to sit in a new land cruiser and the salesman showed me the champaign cooler in the center console and I wondered, if you guys ever took a land cruiser overlanding, how would you best utilize whats in the center console. I would think it would be used for something more useful than champaign.

Is there a plan to have lockers installed in Sampson as well as the 4Runners? I know they have the real locker, but was thinking of a front locker and possibly rear locker hacks.

Auxiliary fuel tanks are very popular everywhere in the world for expedition vehicles, yet I noticed you never fit any on your trucks!!!! Especially that you carry spares on the rear bumpers anyway. Any USA regulation against it?? I also know that most Landcruisers are sold with Aux 45L fuel tank installed on top of stock spare tyre for easy swap with the 180L aftermarket, with gauge and all EXCEPT in USA??? Why is so?
It's very very rare in the USA to not be within 50 miles of a fuel station. The longest stretch of highway roads I can remember ever crossing without a fuel station is Ely to Tonopah Nevada which is 170 miles (275km). Most "expedition" vehicles in the USA are just playing dressup and not really used for expeditions. Just weekend trips less than 50 miles from home. These area rare example of a use that would benefit from auxiliary fuel tanks. The other would simply be for long range towing without having to stop as often. No laws against them. Just not very common because of how rare it is to do in the USA.

I hope you're running the exact same tire/wheel combo on all your vehichles, including the trailer, so any vehicle can fix a flat from the pool...
+mobilemodo indeed we are as far as Tire size. Cruiser trailer are one pattern and Tacoma 4Runner are another. But all the same tire size.

The LC was a nice surprise, I was thinking Tundra to pull the trailer.
Better grab a can of Plasti-Dip for that big chrome grille, all black would be the DEAL.

Zachery Wheat Tundras are a bit too big for extreme overlanding. There's some places they've traveled where the Tacoma barely fit like those old bridges they had to cross in Central America.
Thats true, but this new landcruiser is very comparable in size to a tundra, if not bigger actually. Although maybe they take the landcruiser, and then realize that it doesnt fit in places they need it to, and they dont take it again.

Petrol 3URFE/3URFBE 5.7 V8, same power plant that comes in our Tundra and Sequoia.
