Clay, you guys are living the dream! I never thought a 200 series could be so awesome ( Samson). Keep up the great work.
I love these!! So fun to watch and see the action.
As always Clay, great vid and it's awesome to see Paul again. He is always so helpful and knowledgeable at Expo East. I appreciate the 200 he has now, but my love is for his Tundra, lol... Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Clay... Can you please get in the habit of repeating questions to the camera before you answer them? Couldn't hear the questions being relayed off camera and you just jumped right into answering them. It was a little hard to follow there at the end. Other than that, loving the vlogs.
Dean Shirley no prob! I'll do my best!
Love the video's, great prep work for you're next trip, have you guy's looked at arb for a long rang tank, quality Australian product.
If you guys could please do a very detailed video on that stealth tent I'd be very great-full.
I've been looking at buying it but there is so little footage of it and for the price, I wanna see it in video before I make the plunge.
Paul at Equipt needs to do more videos - love his site and gear.
Nicely done. Live video isn't easy to do. I think people forget that when it's done well, which is to say, good job.
Larry Queen thanks!! We will continue to do our best to keep these as informative and entertaining as possible!
What tires are you running on your various vehicles?
Eezi-Awn aren't shy about asking an arm and a leg for their "Stealth tent" 4K is a bit much I'd say...
Ridiculous!
Don't forget the chainsaw blade sharpener! take 2 just in case, their small😁
Great video Clay, and nice to see Paul May!
I have emptied my wallet a few times with him :)
I have two of those K9 tables in the medium size strapped to my National Luna Weekender 50 twin fridge, three of the Aluboxes, and an Eezi-Awn Bat 270 awning.
Still need to get the awning installed though.
I use to use the ECS cases, but being a thick material you lost a lot of interior space, hence why I like the Aluboxes better.

Boy that is an awesome shop, (I did see the tour in the last video) but congrats on being able to build that!
It would be nice if Toyota USA market there Hilux and Land Cruiser 70' series manual transmission, in 6 and V8 diesel . Sure they will out sell the 4Runner and Tacoma and that obviously is the real problem for some Toyota and Lexus models.
Love the live feeds. Keep em comin!!!!!
You look like a deer in the headlights.
I'm looking to get a 1st gen tacoma soon. My buddy just got an fj cruiser. when we save up for it, we're going an an overland trip
Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the South America trip.
Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the South America trip.
Front Runner is insane for not sponsoring you guys. Y'all would be great exposure for them!
Terrific Updates please keep them coming Guys PS Safe Travels :-)
What gas mileage have you been getting in the Tacoma with the Habitat?
Jason McCabe I average 15 miles to the gallon. I have the same set up. .)
Paul is a great guy, I stopped by his shop and he was very helpful. Glad he is working with you guys.
Guys - I'm on the team for the big win here - love the shows, love the team, love the gear, support your sponsors bordering on religiously... but you might be misleading folks a bit on the question (~27:00) regarding the K9 rack and satellite radio interference.
I have the K9 (bought from Equipt!) ... on a 4Runner TRD Pro... with satellite radio, and it absolutely, positively interferes. First, the center slat of metal goes directly over the fin and not the gap between slats. With nothing on the rack the radio works pretty darn well, maybe just more likely to get static when I'm beside a building, beside a tractor trailer, in cloudy weather, or under an overpass. Day in and day out, for me, this is a very good tradeoff. The roof rack is outstanding, I agree, and the occasional incremental interference with satellite radio, again, in more of a daily driver scenario, is completely acceptable.
The real problem is when you have a tent on the roof rack: the satellite radio is unusable in my experience. This is a little bit more disappointing of a tradeoff because the exact environment in which you would have the tent installed on the is the exact place where you would really want satellite radio. I can't say for sure that the same thing wouldn't happen with stock rack and a RTT. IOW, could be an RTT tradeoff, not a K9 tradeoff, but you guys shouldn't stand there and hand wave that issue away. It's real and people should know that if they're going to purchase a system like this.
I would say a more accurate answer is that there is incremental interference as a result of the rack - a wide metal slat covers the fin afterall - and there is significant interference when you introduce a RTT on there.
Great video Clay. I would love to outfit my 4Runner with all the equipments and gears that you all have once I purchase my next vehicle. I have several question for you and your team.
What kind of radios are you all using for long distant range ( how far will it reach? And will the radios get reception over tree lines and mountains? )
What kind of wench are you guys using for emergency vehicle recovery and its maximum weight?
For expedition overland, do you all use solar powered supplies or just another additional batteries?
I wish one day I may be able to join your team for some explorations. One of my biggest thought was when you all meet up with Team 5, in mexico and operate on the little girl with the huge tumor on her back, it opened my eye in wanting to help out.
I have family members that works in the medical arena and if you like I can make some contacts to see if they can donate the "expired" or getting ready to expired medical necessities to assist with Team 5's mission.
Speaking of gear - can you share what you are filming this with? Some handheld stabilizer of some type - sorry if you've answered this elsewhere. Whatever it is - looks great and thank you for using it. Most people seem to think FB Live and YT Live videos = let's not use a tripod and take really shaky crappy videos. Thanks for making a live video worth watching!
I SAW YOU GUYS FILMING TODAY!!! HAHAH SYNCHRONICITY (i was just driving by from work around noon!)
i would love to know what footwear y'all prefer on the trip and on the daily.
baby master locks...lol...never have an issue... until someone has a heavy pair of pliers....lol
Looks great man, looking forward to the next overland trip.
Why not go to rotopax? Cubic fuel storage will get you 15-20% more for the same space as a Jerry can.
anxious to see the episode. so love your show. keep it up !!
what brands are your aluminum boxes?
Alu Box is the brand. check them out here! www.equipt1.com/c/aluminum-cases
Love you guys! What was that black Prado looking vehicle? Peace
I feel like I just watched a 30 min long commercial...
love all the great info! Good luck guys! Can't wait!
When is the next expedition?
Nate B - the next expedition is South America, this summer. Check out the previous vlogs for all the details.
longranger do a long range fuel tank for the 200 series here in Australia.
Can you write up a list of all the gear that's mentioned?
Auxiliary fuel tanks are very popular everywhere in the world for expedition vehicles, yet I noticed you never fit any on your trucks!!!! Especially that you carry spares on the rear bumpers anyway. Any USA regulation against it?? I also know that most Landcruisers are sold with Aux 45L fuel tank installed on top of stock spare tyre for easy swap with the 180L aftermarket, with gauge and all EXCEPT in USA??? Why is so?
I was wondering why they don't have long range tanks as well. Not sure if they are available for the 4Runner or Tacoma but definitely something to consider for the 200 series.
Sherif El Bakry there are quite a few regulations in the US that have been a bit of a road block for tanks being made.
I guessed so, thanks for confirming
How are those harbor freight jerry cans working?
Can you do a walk around and review Pauls land cruiser?
Hey guys great stuff! Do you use any Weathertech or Huskey floor liners to help keep the trucks clean during your expeditions?
+Tim Brown we do! We use weather techs. Some just came in for the trip.
glad to have caught this recorded. my family was on a week long spring break Western adventure of our own. always good to see better mouse traps!
These are great!
**EXTREME** CAR CAMPING. **EXTREME**
Where do you live stream from ?
just missed it :(
What year is Samson?
Clay, does TAD gear comes with you this season?
Ivan Sulema TAD is a great company and has quality gear, but Magpul is our clothing sponsor this year.
Someone may have asked this already but I'm gonna ask again...r the hood scoops functional? Cuz I've heard the scoops are actually more ineffective for air circulation.
no they are for looks only
you could probably open them up but it will effect the designed drafting used to cool the engine while driving
Steven Verovich yeah that's what I thought..it would've been awesome if it helps the engine cooling and air intake
haha yeah you'd assume more holes=more air but not necessarily
what up guy
How would you rate the General Tires?
Whats going on with Apollo?
They are selling it, posted a few videos ago.
when and where is the next destination?
They're continuing down to South America this Summer I believe.
What table is that please?
www.equipt1.com/item/k9-camp-table-large
when will be the next expedition?
They're continuing down to South America this Summer I believe.
hey when yall coming to Texas
masterlocks are garbage. they're so easy to open. search on youtube and you'll see tons of simple ways that only take a few seconds to do it
Where is the other 4runner?
So there is 3 4runner?
