The point is that The Creator created our bodies the way they are supposed to be. By marking one's body, it's a form of sin, because you are desecrating what the Creator made. This is also said to be the same for piercings. The thing is though, we cover our body with clothing, we wear jewelry, watches, etc... Is that also a sin? It makes me wonder....
@@AlvinKazu I'm afraid you got the wrong idea, friend. The reason God demands in the Old Testament for people to keep away from piercings and tattoos is because those marks brand them as property of other gods. You are blessed to have a good husband but a wife's submission is not dependent on what her husband does or does not do. God instructs wives to submit to their husbands even if the husband is being disobedient to the word. (1 Peter 3:1-2)
Husband's Love your wife like Christ loves the church and gave himself for her. As I focus this and her, her part comes easy, and I am to busy loving her to worry about her part. You are awesome 👍
Read the rest of the sentence and ponder what it means. You guys are missing the point Paul was making. "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she would be holy and blameless." (Ephesians 5:25-27) Here is another verse where Christ talks about how he loves His bride the church. You have to fit this in also. "Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline. Therefore be zealous and repent." (Revelation 3:19)
Religion should focus on one's relationship with God. Get that right, and relations with others are easy. "Religion" focused on behaviors of people is really just a cult!
I really respect how you express your beliefs in a rational and kind hearted way. I'm agnostic, which means I accept the possibility that god is real. Being saved isn't easy the devil is always there to tempt just like he tempted Jesus. Good luck Eli I believe God is faithful to all that want to see themselves.
I heard a preacher say it very succinctly, "Submission demanded is demonic". I thank God Almighty that I have a husband who doesn't demand submission. He got a strong woman in me and because he's so loving and sacrificial it's vastly easier to do as he asks me to. No place does it give the husband the authority to demand submission from the wife. God asks the wife to do that and the man is blessed if the wife can do that. But the husbands part is to love, in return the wife wants to submit. Obviously this is easy if both are born again Christians.
You are correct in that a husband should not demand submission from his wife but you are wrong when you say that God "asks" the wife to submit. God commands the wife to submit and if she is not doing so, in everything, then she is in sin and a husband can (and should) certainly call his wife on her sin. And no, it is not easy... even for born again Christians.
I’m an atheist, but I always love finding out other peoples beliefs and traditions etc. but yeah, it’s horrible how some religious people use their religious texts (which they often Cherry pick from anyway) to justify hurting or discriminating against others!🤷♀️
I am not exactly sure what you are trying to say in these verses but if you are insinuating that men and women are equal in Christ, that is NOT what Paul is saying in those verses. The context of the Book and the verses surrounding it make it very clear what Paul is talking about. The central theme of Galatians is ‘How is a person saved and justified? By works of the (Mosaic) law, or by faith?’ Almost everything Paul writes in this book (to the Gentile churches in the region of Galatia) is to answer those questions. What Paul is saying in those verses is STRICTLY to do with Salvation and Justification and NOTHING to do with the roles (or authority) of men and women on this earth. So yes, men and women have equality in salvation and justification, but they do not have equality in their God assigned roles and duties on this earth. The authority structure that God created on this earth is that of Patriarchy, (man/father/husband) rule and the Bible makes it clear that men and women are not equal in authority, role, or function on this earth.
A woman is to submit, not to just any man. The scripture says only to her own husband. She is under no obligation to submit to any other man. In turn, the husband is to love her as much as he loves himself and like Christ loved and gave himself for us. He is supposed to be submitted to God. If a man is submitted to God he will love and honour his wife and will do nothing to hurt her. A woman has no problem submitting to that kind husband. People don't read the scripture they just spout what they think it says or what they've heard. Then they misquote and misuse it to their own advantage.
And scripture says nothing about who is the boss, who makes the decisions, etc. It all goes back to Christ's command to love one another. 5:21, submit to one another, wives to husbands, and husbands lead by loving the wife as Christ loves the church.
@@Himmiefan - Really? What do you think "head" means? "for the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church..." (Ephesians 5:23
The bible has a clear answer to that. "A woman must learn in quietness, in all submission. But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet." (1 Timothy 2:11-12)
MY Big Fat Greek Wedding, the mom talking to her daughter. "The man is the head of the family, but the woman is the neck and it's the neck that turns the head... I'll talk to your dad'. : )
People are looking all around the world for the answers grampa used to put blinders on the horses so they could only see straight ahead that where the world needs to be looking straight ahead at the prize at the end of the row
Women submitting to their husband's as unto the Lord is directed at the wives, not at the husband's. It means it's not forced. She chooses to submit as she submits to God. And don't forget it says that men that are harsh with their wives will have their prayers hindered.
But a wife NOT submitting to her husband is in sin and it is not out of bounds for her husband to call her on her sin. In fact, God commands him to do so.
@j.p.5716 to talk about it is one thing. To demand it or force it is another. And to expect it to an extreme outside if scripture is also not acceptable. We can not force righteous behavior in another. Men are to love their wives as Christ loves the church and gives himself up for her. That is what men can do. I believe in biblical submission, and have seen the power that God uses when we are obedient to him in spite of our spouses disobedience. I could only do what was dictated to me. Not dictate to my husband what he should do.
@@Sarah-psalm127 - Read what I wrote again. I never said that a husband should demand or force his wife had to submit to him but a husband calling his wife on her sin and teaching her what the bible has to say about it IS loving her as Christ loved His bride the church. (Ephesians 5:25-27) Read the whole command. A husband is to love his wife in a sanctifying way by washing her in the water of the word to remove her spots and blemishes. THIS is how Christ loves the church. Here is another way the Christ loves His bride the church (Revelation 3:19). A wife is to submit to her husband in everything, including rebuke and chastening. When confronted with her sin, if the wife does not repent, she is likely not a true Christian. "And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, 'I have come to know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; " (1 John 4:3-4)
@@Sarah-psalm127 - Since they hid my first response, I will try again. Read Ephesians 5:25-27 and understand that it is all part of the same instruction. The second part of the sentence describes what the first part looks like. Then read Revelation 3:19, understanding that Jesus is speaking with His bride the church in that verse. If a husband is to love his bride like Christ loves the church, this has to apply also. See if the Holy Spirit opens you eyes to anything.
Submissive that is taken it out of context.when the husband makes a decision you make a decision that benefits you her. The husband is the leader but not acting like a thug, you be a loving leader.you put her needs be for yours and she put her needs aside and put your needs first. It’s a balance. When Christ is in your marriage you have an amazing relationship with your spouse. Ive been married for 8 years and it has been amazing. Not perfect but amazing.
But sometimes wives do not know what is in their best interest and the husband has to stay strong to his convictions and the wife has to submit even (especially) when she does not want to.

A woman should work in partnership with her husband not submit to him.
And scripture says nothing about who is the boss, who makes the decisions, etc. It all goes back to Christ's command to love one another. 5:21, submit to one another, wives to husbands, and husbands lead by loving the wife as Christ loves the church.
@@Himmiefan the husband does not have to lead. My husband does not want to lead he says we are equals and no-one leads the other .
Consider 1 Peter 3:1-2
@@Himmiefan - Really? What do you think "head" means? "for the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church..." (Ephesians 5:23
Amen. My question is this: should women teach in front of men and women?
Correct😮

Does Jesus say what ever you do to your body that is what you do to him he also said do not make marks on your body
(Ephesians 5:25-27)
Read the whole command.

Why does everyone ignore Ephesians 5 verse 21 ?
