I am 15 years old and I have always wanted to be a fashion designer and this year I started to take real actions and your videos have helped me a lot, thank you and blessings from Costa Rica☺️
I need you to know that the fashion design class was essentially co-taught by you, my teacher would start each lesson with one of your videos and then we’d expand from there. You’ve taught me a lot outside of school as well. Thank you for your hard work ❤️
Hey Zoe! I'm an FD student & we were taught the same stuff in class today! Tbh, your channel covers some of the important topics taught in fashion schools! Kudos!!!! Thank you for sharing such valuable information with us!😄❤
I wanted to know all of that fashion project and assignment like I'm 20 years old in a fashion designer school that each Benning lesson and that's what I want to do fashion of my career.
I love this video bc this mind map works for any creative process. I could use this method to write a script or a scene. I would start out with a different premise, not a theme but a logline and expand it from there. It’s always fun to see how other artists work. All art forms can inform one another.
This helped a lot, also I thought of my own design for ‘Happy’ It’s most likely a childish scrawl, no detail at all, but I can’t get it out of my head Destination: Oregon -Sand-colored overalls, cotton fabric with a cardboard brown chest pocket White T-shirt with thin horizontal pale grey stripes Worn out Rain boots, neon yellow color fading An umbrella for the cloudy weather, the clouds bright white yet low to the ground and puffy, a simple leather strap around the wrists and one as a choker around the neck
I’ve recently gotten into designing things one of which happens to be fashion and I’m so grateful I found you! I know absolutely nothing about it and I’m so excited to start learning!
Thank you so much! You won't believe how much this helped me. I figured out my colors, fabrics , silhouettes, and the style of this dress! Im a beginner I'm not even in high school but becoming a fashion designer has always been my dream. So thank you so much!
I start with brainstorms for just about all creative problem solving but I forgot/didn’t realise how in-depth you can get with it, great video to refresh my mind, thank you
Hey Zoe. I really admire your work and enthusiasm. I first discovered this channel while I was finding out how to maintain your clothes and stuff in good care after you buy it. Rather I say your fabrics series and I love it. I request you to make a video or series maybe about how to properly care for each fabrics plz. Thanks

I love your videos Zoe, I would really like to see a new playlist of you designing a new collection. I loved your first one, your voice is so soothing, so fun to watch!
You explain things so well, I’m a graphic designer and thought whatever this process is is creative to it’ll be helpful to listen to something different and I like a lot how real and inspiring you explain things definitely will try to let ideas flow with mind maps
I find it so helpful to see someone else working a mind map. Some people say I am left & right brain and I’ve used the left brain to make a living so day job tends to be linear in thought process. I’ve worried that my creativity has been lost, but maybe not… This brainstorming of ideas feels comfortable to me!
I have been binging all of your videos and they are SO HELPFUL!!! I am truly grateful for your content and thank you so much for putting all of this out there. You are amazing!!! ❤
Zoe I am returning to fashion design at 38 after having my two babies who are 2 under3. I have to complete my diploma and then I want to do my under grad bachelor and my cert 4 in custom shoe design and making and then my post Grad and eventually my masters and PhD… as although I want to work as a FD’er I also now want to become an FD academic/professor at a uni. I want to become an absolute master in this field that I adore so much. My goals have definitely changed dramatically since I first started years ago before my pregnancies occurred! I wasn’t even going to return to the industry but I realised how miserable I was studying tech/it in the hopes of high wages and stable jobs (turns out not only do I hate it - coding etc but it’s also NOT a stable or easy job pathway at all… that’s all false…. Every industry is competitive… also, there is currently a massive skills shortage in FD in Australia. Particularly for product dev and garment construction - the technical type skills whivh I love … most of my peers just want to draw pretty designs and pass them onto a garment tech to make… whereas I derive joy from EVERY ASPECT of FD process. So I KNOW this is my jam… and becoming an academic within the field fills me with pure joy…. But I wondered am I mad for going back to studies so late? Having being a FD academic/professor as a goal? I was thinking if I’m an academic or professor I can literally devote my LIFE to it and work into my 80’s as professors work well beyond the 70-75 Australian retirement age. Which means I have like 40 years plus left in me career wise! Yes I would love to have my own label - probably childrens wear- pretty much exactly what you said here - mini me type outfits, not the usual pretty frilly pink stuff. I would love your thoughts. Sorry for typos - typing while calming an angry toddler 😂

Hey I’m a mechanical engineer but figured designing for soft clothing patterns can’t be that different from say designing sheet metal patterns.... It’s weird to factor in stretch etc
Thanks for the video and I’ll be doing creative arts next September, I also was thinking about doing cosplay when I’m older. 100% recommend watching this UA-cam video when you’re 💭 a theme for your clothes or hobby involving fashion.
Thanks very much,I didn't know anything about design but thanks to this video,I have learned a lot ,I thought that designing is all about drawing the sketch of what you want to make but noo ,now I know and am ready to give it a try
I found this video sooooooooo helpful! Like I needed it to get myself out of the funk my brain was feeling and create works for my scholarship application. THANK YOU!
Zoe , Ma'am I would just wanna thank you so much , your videos and your teachings finally got me into the best design college in my Country . Thank you . I hope to learn more from you .
Hey Zoe, I commented about this in your previous videos too, maybe you missed it. Could you please make a video on the whole end to end retail Manufacturing process, planning a season, what are the steps involved in selecting the Merchandise for a store in the context of a particular season? In short, everything from procurement of raw material to sales.
Super fun and practical way of following the creative instinct within and discover clarity and inspiration along the way. Thank you for sharing this us, Zoe! We love and appreciate you! Thank you! Love and appreciation to all! Please continue to stay safe and healthy!
Hey Zoe, Thank you so much for everything on this channel. I had done a Fashion Design and Merchandising course two decades ago. Couldn't pursue it due to various reasons. The love for fashion never went away. Your channel is helping me so much, teaching me so much. Millions of thanks to you. Love this channel. Would you consider doing some videos on fabric surface development methods? Especially professional level fabric painting, printing and embroidery. Again infinite thanks to you for this great content. Today I was watching your videos on Fashion Illustration and wondering why were we not taught like this in our class!! We are so fortunate to have you. Love and gratitude.
I have a Print Design playlist. Fabric painting is not something I do since it's not something scalable for manufacturing. Embroidery process is pretty straightforward. Embroidery companies need digitized artwork done in Adobe Illustrator and they'll make you a sample before production.
