Nathan Navarro makes every bass sound like a million bucks. Companies are smart to have him demo their basses. BTW, that 5 string shoot out he did last month was epic. Nice to hear ALL styles being played and compared by someone who knows what they are doing. All of the basses sounded great, but the bass that stood out above all others for me, for an all-around bass, was the Le Fay. I was so impressed I ended up purchasing one I found on Reverb a few days later. I am selling all my other basses now except my Dingwall. My Le Fay Singer will be my main bass. It produces the sound that has been in my head for 30 years but never before achieved. But you can't go wrong with this Peavey either. It also compared well in the shoot-out video.

Those are my top choices when it comes to preferences, of course there are plenty more, dinwall for example or fedora but for the price you can't beat those lml

People sleep on the MIM Fenders, but those can kick, especially with a good setup. I bought my Sire when they first came out so I dunno what the price is looking like now but that was probably the best $500 I ever spent
Those are some good bass guitars. My personal favorite bass guitars are schecter stiletto, Ibanez soundgear, and yamaha trbx. Peavey millennium and dean edge are my honorable mentions.
It's still my favorite bass of all time. I was lucky to have one just like that.
Play a Peavey TL-5 or TL-6, they are much better.

Nathan this is a very nice bass and you play it well ,
back in 1978 my first bass was a Peavey Patriot bass but I sold it and Ive gone thru 12 basses since then.
I wish I had the Peavey back because it fit my hands and style very well.

I wish the Cirrus basses would make a comeback. Nowadays, you can only find them through secondary sources like Reverb. I first heard one when the bassist of my high school jazz band had one. It sounded so sweet.
I am a Cirrus fanatic! I have six of them! I have one of the new tiger eye 5 strings (2017), but, there's just something about the Cirruses built in Meridian, Mississippi. My favorite in my collection is a 1999 bubinga / wenge 5 string. You're also a a great player!

Awesome demo, Nathan. \m/ peavey makes really good bass guitars. I use to own a peavey millennium bass. It was a good affordable bass. It has a nice punchy sound and it sounds killer with distortion. Those peavey cirrus bass sounds totally awesome.

I can only find a regular 5 with carbon fiber headstock (no metal plate) and a "Custom shop" 4; if the custom shop ones are significantly better?

Pronounced See-rus. Awesome demo, though. The Peavey Cirrus is hands down the BEST production bass ever made. Boutique quality. A $4k bass for a grand. The USA models.
