Victron Venus OS on Raspberri Pi 4 B and Reading Modbus TCP Tables

How to set up a Raspberry Pi 4 and then reading ModBus tables from the Raspberry PI and BMV-712 Smart battery monitor. Weblinks at bottom.
I should have mentioned that you want a quality Kingston, Samsung, or SanDisk MicroSD card for this project. I used a cheap card initially but it couldn't handle the heat and died after 24 hours. You also want to take an image of your SD card after you have everything up and running so that you can recover if it crashes.

Is it possible to the read the datas from the systems (batteries, PV...) and have it in an excel table or MySQL throught Modbud TCP instead of just graphics?

I'm not too sure, it is packed in a box right now but I don't think it's too important...it's one without much memory compared to what is being sold now. Are you having trouble with something?

@@SteveRivett I have a pi4 b I think it the version 1.4. Venus doesn’t like this version as doesn’t boot on startup. Version 1.1 and 1.2 seams to work. Was hoping you had a version 1.4.

I found it and plugged it in, it is a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1.

Great video. I only have a Raspberry pi4 1.6 display starts, but further happens nothing and stops at the three logos. Is the BMV needed UNCONDITIONALLY? Am absolute fresher

You don't need the BMV for Venus to work. Another watcher mentioned that there are problems with v1.3 and higher but I haven't researched it. You may want to look online and see what you can find. The display with the 3 logos isn't really important, you need to access the Raspberri Pi by Ethernet and go into the web display.
