What an awesome set!!! I love the original artwork. I remember seeing both movies back in the 1980’s and being so confused. I was a fan of the show with limited knowledge of Who history at the time and I didn’t understand how the movies fit in to the series.
Jason, thank you for the thorough unboxing video! I love this release and the attention to detail and the extra items included in the set. I also love that they made the box comparable to the size of The Collection box sets. Thanks for taking the time to make video annotations so that different features could be easily found by anyone looking just to see the challenge coin for example.
Remember to add the cellophane sticker to the box!

Peter Cushing just always makes me uncontrollably happy, especially in these movies and his extensive Hammer Horror catalogue
I ordered this set instead of the steelbook because the extra goodies were just too good to resist.
These movies have always been comfort movies for me.

I bought both the steelbook and collectors edition, at the same time season 22. An expensive time for doctor who fans haha. But well worth it! This is such a beautiful set and I'm excited for the next one next month

Got the Steelbook edition, just could not justify another £20 for this set. Nice to see you walking in Brighton, my home town, often have a walk along the seafront.
The steelbooks look great! Glad you got one of those. And yes, it's nice to do the odd bit of outdoor filming!
Did you know that the BBC actually did offer the title role to Peter Cushing but couldn't do to scheduling I think he said he didn't think he could do it. But if he did do it I think he would have become another iconic doctor. And cushion was the doctor then they should get Christopher Lee as the master.
Ah yes, I did know this at some point and then forgot! That would have been quite the thing - and Christopher Lee as The Master would have been even more awesome!

The illustrations remind me of the 'graphic / comic' book that was released. A shame they couldn't have represented the TARDIS better - the top police call box sign is wrong and generally does not ILLUSTRATE The TARDIS / Police Box in the movie which was wonderful. Also, as the movie promoted about seeing Daleks in colour for the same time, it is a shame the makers of this set have given photo art cards away in Black & White - unless they are supposed to be similar to the cinema foyer ones, but I suspect they were in colour. I have the movies on VHS, and DVD so a BIG THANK YOU for your great video as it shows me I will not be buying this release. Keep up the good work!

Just watched it last night, and really enjoyed it. Still prefer the second one, and the Doctor being referred to as "Doctor Who " annoys me, but still very watchable.

Hi Jason, I can't justify buying this, I already have the DVD box set with both films that also includes Dalekmania and art cards, then I upgraded to blu ray limited collectors edition both films digitally restored by Studiocanel back 2013. I must admit the box set looks good, but £100 for both. Not this time. Great video mate 👍

The vhs art work is so much better than the crap one that's on the new box art. I want a proper 4k steelbook of these films with a retro art style on the front like the ones that you have been showing with the darkles the colours just pop that's the art work that they should of gone with.

Excellent video Jason...comes out in Australia 13 July but packaging doesn't look nearly as nice.. haven't watched this in over 30 years so will be like watching for first time..picture quality looks amazing!

Our version only costs the equivalent of £17 though. Half that again if you only want the 1080 Blu-ray

@@jarnopp I found DVD copies of the first movie, on its own, at the Hamilton branch of JB Hi-Fi for just under 13 New Zealand dollars.

I dunno. The Cushing movies to me are an interesting diversion but not essential. I have them on Blu Ray. I won't be shelling out for them again....

Been very unlucky with this set. The main feature and extras vision and sound were out of synch. Ordered replacement from Amazon and it had the same issue.

I've got a whs VHS, 8mm print and the original blueray release. I'm kinda on the wall if weather I should get the steelbook or not.

@@jarnopp half of it. You can find them somtimes on ebay. Both dalek movies got home 8mm releases in the early to mid 70s.
The version I've got is a black and white silent version with captions. It's scratched but plays well. I got out bid on the last half in the last minute.

It's a cut down version but you still get the full plot. There is also a colour version, I think with sound.
I burnt my dalek invasion prints as they smellt of vinager. I paid £60 for them ones years back 🙄. I paid 30 for the doctor who and the daleks one.

I have quite a lot of wired bits like that In my collection. From trailers for the time meddle (quite a few off air recordings from the 90s) to an on set photo of Tom and liz on set of planet of evil. I even have some of the 70s Weetabix cut-outs and a miss printed record of Doctor in the tardis
Didn’t they make these movies “canon” in the comics by saying these movies are based off the “real” Doctor in that universe?

I love the packaging. And the containts, but it is rather over priced, also you can't watch the 4k disc without a proper 4K TV and player. Thats a bit of a swizz.......
Hey there PB! Yes, it's certainly true that 4k players aren't exactly in most households yet. But it's good that the set contains the Blu-ray too.

What I did, in the end, was buy a multi region 4K Blu ray player a couple of years ago. Think it cost around £200. 🤔🤔

Well it's not exactly a "swizz" as there's not much point buying something clearly manufactured 4K if you haven't got 4K capability!! It'd be a "swizz" if you weren't told it was 4K!!
Forget about all the gimmicky shit and sell the 4k disc on its own. £50. They are taking advantage, or taking the piss. Both, probably.

"2 hours long?" ... The two Dalek movies run around 80 minutes, so HOW did yours run for 120 minutes? ... Is that including "extras?"
