40 isn’t old. I started over at 40 and at 43 I had a beautiful home, husband, business. Made my first million at 42. Don’t be obsessed with age. You have something most don’t have. Experience.
Beautiful to hear. Do you want to share your story? If so, please send me an email or let me know. I am keen to build a positive, informed community moving forward here to advise and help one another
The algorithm LOVES you sis!! You've almost reached 1000 subscribers only a couple of days after you first posted. If it keeps going like that.... you can say goodbye for good to 9to5 and hello to earning money from being your authentic self and inspiring others through it. You never know what it might be good for...Sometimes, even though it might not feel like that in the moment, doors that close for us can be our biggest blessings. They require us to take bold steps and make US open new doors that might be much more fitting for us and what we got to bring to the world. Many blessings to you from a fellow black woman that is in the process of detangling her life. After the pain of some closed doors, now I feel pure trust and peace and am excited for the new life I get to create for myself. Your story really touches me. Much love
Thank you for sharing your video. I turned 40 this year. I’m a single mom of 2 and my life is definitely not what I thought it would be. I’ve had to unlearn everything I was taught about having a stable 9-5. I struggled after having kids to make the same level of money. At one point I was getting paid less money at 37 that I made at 25. I knew then I needed to find my own path. Continue sharing your story. People need to hear it.
Bless you, my dear. Having kids and a career is very challenging. Sometimes, money and value could be found in different things, such as adding value to your kids and unlearn what ww were taught. At 40 there is a lot to learn
Thanks for sharing. Believe me , you are still young and can start all over. I am in my early 40s and making serious plans to start again. Don't let the past or your experience slow you down. I am just looking forward. We all have different stories and make it at different times in life. Good thing is you have been Hardworking and have achieved a lot. I see a strong and successful woman in you. You have every potential to make it. let nothing discourage you. Just put your trust in God and keep doing the needful
Hi Lulu, thanks for being brave and sharing parts of your story! Don’t worry about those who know you seeing your videos! People will have something to say no matter what. Our life experiences shape us and lead us to a self development journey that we will be grateful for one day. 🌹
Your story is quite inspiring..... as Africans we are not encouraged to build businesses at the early years of our lives(no body ever sat us down to tell us why it is important to do what we find rewarding), and nobody truly educates us about the harsh realities of the corporate world..... courage sister,it is well don't despair,God is your strength
The thinking is if you have a white collar job or a prestigious professional title you have arrived. It is a status thing based on how status is viewed.
Babe, you're right to feel scared. I'm also starting all over at 40, but I have lost my 9-5, never been married (not even asked), not dating because of where my 9-5 put me. Back living with my parents. On mental illness medication. I have no idea what is next. I totally understand the sudden change at this point in life. Please know you only need God and HE will establish a new life for you.
Oh bless you, darling, and it does feel we are in similar positions with age and 9-5 life. I hope you find your God-given purpose and thrive. Please be kind to yourself, and don't forget to always remember there is always a sign we might not see now. I hope your mental health stabilises soonest. There is always light at the end of the tunnel
@@LulusDiaries-b6i you are absolutely right... what I did not mention is that I am on a sabbatical and have been since April just to take care of my mental health, and I am fortunate to financially afford to do this. Majority of my challenge is going from workaholic (just like you) to no goals yet. This is why I know we will both be fine.
My story is similar to yours however I’m 8yrs younger than you and this has been on my mind for the past 6months. I feel the same way you feel even at 31 and wish I knew this 5yrs ago. If you are my age and below and from Africa with a job, please use your job and income as a leverage to build yourself and return back home. There’s no other away I can say this. This is the most real video I have seen from an African. Everyone wants to be faking and acting like they are enjoying but they ain’t. This is the best time Africans can return cos Africa is taking shape the only way is up.
Aww thanks Beatrice, very kind of you to. I hope we can build a community to uplift and support each other. I have a lot more to share on my life experiences and my story with the next video due this afternoon. God bless you 🙏🏾
Oh lord I have been in this same battle my sister. The only thing keeping me in my job is I am the captain of the ship for my family and if I go down, everyone goes down. Still hoping to find a better direction in this new year.
Living within the ‘Matrix’ with its illusions or delusions…and trappings eventually gives a wake up call. You’ve gotten yours! Don’t worry! The best is yet to come. Everything happens for a reason. ❤
Hi it's so stressful the feeling you need to earn money. I feel so stressed about aging. I feel we always have to be warriors. Like you have to be sharp. I feel like I can't relax and also the world like now. I'm terrified to become weaker in a world where you have to stick up for yourself. It became so bad that I wanted to die. I have always been strong, smart, beautiful ect. But men it makes me scared to lose that because I depend on that. Its terrifying. Let's pray to the Lord for solutions. You are not a failure. It's right, some people forever stay in that 9-5 and seem to have it all but they have no principles. I'm going to apply for a job to help homeless people. I also feel stressed about it. I like it, but a voice in me is saying that is not a carriere.
I AM A 57 YEAR OLD BLACK AMERICAN, I HAD TO START ALL OVER AGAIN, DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF YOU ARE IMMIGRANT OR NOT, PICK YOUR SELF UP.. AGE IS ONLY A NUMBER. AS LONG AS YOU HAVE GOD ON YOURSIDE, EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT.. STOP MAKING EXCUSES AND WALLOWING IN YOUR SELF PITY.. VICTORY IS MINE.. I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL
You are entitled to your opinion, but whatever is making you so unhappy, I pray you find peace. Our lives are different, and I'll not judge your feelings but wish you luck.
We live in an amazing information period, where the average person can document their journey easily through blogs, vlogs , and other media. Something that the average person , 200 years ago , did not have the resources to do. We read about history, but there is very little from the perspective of the average person. Now, we are giving future historians lots of material to analyze.
My dear, I want to echo what others have said-you truly have what it takes to excel not just on UA-cam, but in life as a whole. You're an incredible storyteller! I didn’t want the video to end. I especially admire your strength of character, authenticity, eloquence, and yes, your beauty shines right through the screen. Well done and keep it up. Greetings from Cameroon, and I can’t wait for Part 2!
You are not a failure. This is called Life. This is what life is like and most of us have been through the same experience as you in varying degrees. You have also still managed to survive and tell us. This is your journey of success. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤❤❤
I claim your positivity! Indeed, it is a journey of success. We tend to be hard on ourselves. I hope my story eventually turns positive and resonates with someone x
UA-cam recommended this video to me and i’m glad i got to watch it. With the kind of knowledge and skills you have, only you can stop yourself. I am totally hooked 💖.
Thank you so much for being vulnerable and sharing your story! I just left my first job which was in sales and that pressure is so real. I love when women share their advice, it really helps me as I’m still in my 20s and clueless. Can’t wait to see more from you!
I wonder if sometimes we feel like failures because we demand so much of ourselves. That feeling of failure, of not being satisfied with the present, it drives you to keep going for more and more. I guess the balance is that we sometimes need to stay in the moment. To not think about tomorrow's achievement. They say "smell the roses". I wonder if that just means 'experience life once in a while. enjoy where you are'. That is a very long-winded way of saying you are clearly an incredible person ... the furthest thing from a failure. You're video spoke to me and I'm sure will speak to some many more people. I wish you well (I wish you the best in fact!)
Sister be encouraged! Life can be shitty but there’s hope! Take each day at a time! Do what you can per time and learn to always be your authentic self no matter what! God loves you and you are not alone. A lot of people including me is still trying to figure out life too, what has kept me going is faith in myself and God that I will be Ok.. so believe and have faith! Better days are coming. Thanks for sharing ❤🎉😊
As a man at 38 by November i felt so disappointed with everything have been struggling since i was 13 yrs coming to Dubai i was so excited but after 3 years here things are not working as planned and this has made me felt so bad about myself because i needed to marry and start my business back home. Hi Lulu sending love from 🇧🇯. I can relate and I am in that period in my life as well where I don’t know who I am and where my career is going. It so hard for people who aren’t in the same situation to understand. Keep your head up and take things one day at a time.
Lovely video, I enjoyed every bit of it. I clicked not thinking I'd watch it till the end but found myself staying glued to the end. You just got a subscriber. We've all been there where we fill like the world has come to an end, but God is on your side and you'll make it through. Stay strong. ❤
So good to meet you - congrats on blessing the world with four I am sure amazing kids. Your life still has amazing turns if you can look back and learn, then trust God and push ahead. Well done for starting this channel!!
Your channel was just recommended to me and I watched until the end. I just want to say you have no idea how many women (people in general, but women especially) you are helping now and going to help as your video views increase. I have to say that I thought I was alone as I turn 41 this year, currently unemployed with no direction in life. I want say may the Alpha Omega bless you, your willingness to share, and your lovely children. You will see how things pivot for you in such a marvelous way moving forward. 🙏🙏💗💗
You are a good person. Keep being strong and never give up. Many people are going through similar situations. Keep your chin held high and be strong for your children.
Definitely that’s Europe. Same in france. You are judged every day. You have to do like them to be a little bit accepted. But US is a different story. Forever grateful to the black Americans for the fight.
It’s not about the color of your skin for the majority of Europeans…we are tired of people not respecting our Etiquette (culture). Foreigners eat smelly food on the tram and talk on FaceTime as if no one was around. In our culture it’s rude behavior. For everyone. If I would move to an African country you can be sure that I would study their Etiquette and culture to adapt to their society. By the way: I am white and I was bullied as hell in 9-5 jobs.
@@ClaraM-lr5khI hear you, however I can also guarantee you if you moved to Africa, you would not accept our culture either! Europeans have been visiting and living in Africa for centuries, but they strictly keep their own culture. You won’t be any different! But on the issue of being aware of those around you, I completely agree! I’m African and even I don’t like it. AND, for Europeans skin colour is the number one thing they use to divide ppl!! Racism was not created by anyone but Europeans. It’s a fact. You can’t look at Africans, Asians or anyone else without putting skin colour at the forefront of all your decisions! It’s unintelligent, basic and shows a high degree of jealousy and resentment.
@ My friend from Kongo told me that it’s completely normal in his country to look at white visitors like they don’t belong there. I actually never even thought about different skin colors unless some people started constantly pointing out the „differences“. You are big on generalizing and assuming in your comment. Which is never a sign of high intelligence by the way (you mentioned the topic) 😉 no need to say that your hint on jealousy or whatever you are trying to divide us Europeans from our black or asian friends sounds like a desperate attempt to me to ignite dispute. I am tired of discussing why some people who moved to Europe feel like victims. We welcomed them and gave them all the chances without getting back any appreciation in return. Especially in times like there after we have had to deal with horrible things caused by certain migrants who don’t respect our way of living. No one is forced to live in Europe. I live in a foreign country and I feel „being different“ every day. It’s normal. They even give me the feeling that I don’t belong there. Currently I am considering to move. That’s normal. Whatever happened in some countries in Africa…I can’t relate to some weird people who weren’t even my ancestors. It’s just as absurd as blaming you personally for all the horrible things that happened in Europe caused by cruel migrants. Many of us Europeans are tired of being called racist despite having opened our hearts. If you are not happy in Europe you can choose to go wherever you will be happy ❤️
Respectfully, I don't think the problem was the "African food" . It's the way Nigerians prepare their fish. I am African too and lived with Nigerian and caucasian roommates while in college. When we (Eastern africans) season fish, we add a little bit of lime to it to cut out the unfavourable smell, and I thought this was how most people prepared their fish until I lived with a Nigerian. Whenever I prepared a dish with fish, most people would complement on the aroma. Nigerians on the other hand, at least the lady that I lived with, always thought it was weird adding a bit of lime to fish. Nigerians don't add lime to their fish, so when they prepare it, the whole house smells fishy and not in a good way. I guess they don't notice it cause of how accustomed they are to prepping it that way. My other roommates would open the windows, spray airfreshner or find reason to go out every time the Nigerian lady made fish. I tried telling her to try adding lime, but as we all know how argumentative the situation can get, I had to rest my case. If your co-workers indicated that your food smelt bad, this is most likely the reason, and not because it was "African food"
This makes no sense. Why do we need to add lime to fish to make it less fishy? Do you try to make chicken less like chicken. What's wrong with the smell of fish? Nigerians do not need to be apologetic for not cleaning fish with lime in other to fit into a particular box.
@@Grace-fd2rw😂😂😂Because in healthcare settings, that fishy smell is a sign of infection. 😅😅😅 It rubs off on people who are not used to it the wrong way. Can cause Nausea. So it is to be avoided.😂😂😂

Thank you for sharing this. You're not the only one in this position. I'm there too, but remember that God is greater than our troubles and he'll make a way.

Hmmm...Lord thank you I stumbled upon this video. Some of the comments are soul lifting, like e should not put our identity in our career. By God’s grace, one day, I'll tell my story. God bless you for sharing...
My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to make investments. Saving is great but investing puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. Thanks to larysa Caba, my portolio is doing really great and im proud of the decisions i made last year.
I feel one Of the greatest challenges that we first timers face in the ma rket is that we end up losing all we have, making it difficult to find ourselves back to our feet. My biggest advice is to always seek the services of a professional just like I did when I ventured into it for the first time. Big thanks to Larysa Caba. I now make huge profits by weekly through her services while still learning to stand on my own.
I think she trades for everyone I meet. I met her twice at a meeting in Germany and after her lectures from Ella I had to personally ask her to be my financial advisor. she is definitely good.
I have never seen a trader as open and transparent as Larysa Caba with her clients. The way she decides to make a profit for her clients. she allows you to express your fears and she still rests your fears and that is my respect. I don't normally comment on videos, but this word should be included. she is really cool.
Lulu am 39yrs not married,no kids. I also feel like I need to do more with my life than 9-5. I started a you tube channel too. I do feel good about turning 40 though. I like my 9-5 but I have always been more detached emotionally from my job than most people . I report at 8 and leave at 5 on the dot .
@Cirukanyoro I resonate with your sentiments about the emotional detachment from work. This definitely means your Purpose is round the corner to be found
Hey Sis, Sorry you had to go through all that - unfortunately that’s the reality of life esp coming from back home. Not going to put blame on your husband or anyone. There’s a saying what doesn’t break you makes u stronger. In all God created a path for you to get to the Top, this challenges of racism and toxic environments never ends - we learn to deal with it better as we go along. My advise is for you not to stress over any jobs , creating valuable time with family and looking after yourself mentally is more valuable. Life is temporary and people are dying each day. Free your mind and take on a social activity or hobbies. God bless you sis - the Lord is your strength 🖤🖤🖤.
some of this resonates. i've experienced one or two aspects of what you've shared. but I've lived in England all of my life, so I am accustomed to certain things to the point I expect it.
Dear lulus,am glad I came along with this video ❤am 42 years struggling to pay bills alone bcos my husband lost his job ad all my taught is all my savings is going every month. But I always give God thanks that my savings is my 2 boys God give me ad they are my best achievement in life 🙌
@HolaideHammed-zk1el so sorry to hear you are having a tough time. Trust me, this too shall pass! God never gives us a challenge we can't overcome. Think out of the box and ask yourself what your unique selling point is??

Join the military where? Why? In this day and age when nations rise against nations? Are you aware there’s high level of discrimination in the military against blacks???? Ok o.
I swear these millenials look young. What was in the water back then. You look amazing and you'll be fine, trust a lot of people are the same age as you and in the same boat. You've sinply woken up from the matrix. Everything is programming, theres no right or wrong just whats right for you. I cant believe you have four kids you look amazing.
I think a lot of the problem is as that we count too much ,we get to age 40 and say....I've arrived....sweetie God is never thru with you at any age up an downs don't end at age 80 either.
Its sad to loose what's familiar and safe as well as a sense of Identity. I have been there several times. Looking backwards now, each Job loss was a Blessing even though I didn't see it at the time Here's how I overcame # I gave thanks to God Almighty who has my future in his Hands # I took stock of my life and I had learnt as well as the Skillsets needed to start a Business of my whole # A new Chapter is unfolding with a blank page which you get a chance to write every day # You're going to find you have more Courage inside you than you know #lastly what has been that Dream that you always wanted to pursue Take a bet on yourself And in 12months time you will look back and be so so grateful you lost your Job Good luck You're a great Storyteller..
Hi dear, Thanks for sharing the powerful down to earth message. The best helper is our Saviour. " I will make away in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in desert."Isaiah 43:19. God will always make a way where there seems to be no way.
Lua you hsve just described my life minus husband and children. I dont even mingle with you girls, my mayes because i feel like that. But God is in control.
The issue is that most of people who most times feel unfulfilled in life always boil it down to material, career success or acquisition of tangible substances. That is a complete fallacy.
Girl you are not alone. Take it a step at a time and enjoy the process of living. There is nothing like a failure, you as a success is not determined by these societal norms.
I like this quote I saw somewhere but can't remember where “20 years from now, the only people who will remember that you worked late are your kids”. 9-5's are overrated and in most cases those seemingly high paying jobs are a scam
My sister, I’m an immigrant too from Nigeria living in the US. I feel same way after 16 years here. I obtained two degrees here in the US( BSc in Petroleum Engineering and Masters in Data Science). The sad part is that the current job I’m into now doesn’t require those degrees and my students loans are giving birth to grandchildren. With 15 months daughter and another baby on the way. I will turn 44 years old soon. Hang in there my sister. Life is spiritual and a mystery as well. These are the things I didn’t pay attention as a teenager and my early days in life. However, it never too late to make incremental changes. Stay blessed!
Oh my dear, hang in there, but stop and pause before you continue in auto mode for another 10 years. If you feel a bit lost, stop and take stock on what your next move should be first. Also let's educate our kids not to be in same shoes
@@misfitdess3222 , Well, I guess nobody wants to give me a chance. Maybe I focus too much on education instead of trying to put my foot on the door without much education.
Wow! What an inspirational story. As a 26 year old immigrant struggling, I feel so hopeful. If you don't mind me asking, how were you navigating the visa issues that would come up after resigning from a job? Surely that was added anxiety ?
I think my sista all us African women have all dealt with how these devilish people at work like to behave here in the UK. They have no mercy or empathy and can be extremely ruthless. Thats why before started work i would come in extra early and pray for strength for 30 minutes. When i got home the first thing i would do was pray and each morning before leaving my house i would pray. I was praying so much during my pregnancy and having to come to work and dealing with people who just couldn't stop trying to think of ways to make things difficult for me. But i overcame! I smiled, i laughed at their games and became stronger. These people can either break you or make you stronger. Thats why i love living in the UK. The people in this land will change you to be better or lead you to the mental institution. Its all our choice where we go. Be strong or choose to be weak! No one can break you or make you cry. Only if you give them the power to. You got to remind them that your greatness and they are nothing when they try and break you. I did that and they knew their place. Mother of civilization, the original woman, the first! I was great in the beginning of time, I was always considered greatness and I will always be greatness.
NEVER LABEL YOURSELF AS A FAILURE. PROVERBS 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Yahweh bless you!🙏🏾

We live in an amazing information period, where the average person can document their journey easily through blogs, vlogs , and other media.
Something that the average person , 200 years ago , did not have the resources to do. We read about history, but there is very little from the perspective of the average person.
Now, we are giving future historians lots of material to analyze.
Very insightful and intelligent angle to analyse from. Thanks for watching

You are 40? Beautiful, stand up, shake up and strut your stuf. You are awsome
@reginapolo3357 thank you so much 💓 very encouraging to hear
Fair enough
We need outside kitchen for many African foods because of strong aroma. Or a kitchen with industrial air extractor.
Try Indian, Bagladeshi, and Pakistani homes
This makes no sense. Why do we need to add lime to fish to make it less fishy? Do you try to make chicken less like chicken. What's wrong with the smell of fish?
Nigerians do not need to be apologetic for not cleaning fish with lime in other to fit into a particular box.
@@Grace-fd2rw😂😂😂Because in healthcare settings, that fishy smell is a sign of infection. 😅😅😅 It rubs off on people who are not used to it the wrong way. Can cause Nausea. So it is to be avoided.😂😂😂

I just looked up her name online. she is licensed with credible certificates and has an amazing track record. Thank you for the message.

Hey Sis,
Sorry you had to go through all that - unfortunately that’s the reality of life esp coming from back home.

So, so true! I still remember my parents doing similar. Thanks for your wisdom
I love that quote. It's so true.
YOU MADE A MISTAKE GETTING MARRIED IN THE WEST AND HAVING CHILDREN. YOUR OBJECTIVE WAS TO RETURN TO AFRICA.
With those degrees, you must be looking at wrong companies.
Oh my dear, hang in there, but stop and pause before you continue in auto mode for another 10 years. If you feel a bit lost, stop and take stock on what your next move should be first. Also let's educate our kids not to be in same shoes

Wow! What an inspirational story. As a 26 year old immigrant struggling, I feel so hopeful. If you don't mind me asking, how were you navigating the visa issues that would come up after resigning from a job? Surely that was added anxiety ?
@Hazel-t8r that was part of the biggest issue, anxiety and stress. I will share how I navigated these issues in subsequent videos
Really love what you stand for and the angle you choose to take! They can either make you or break you indeed!
All is well dear
