For starters I want to apologize again for the dirty sensor that is very noticeable at the end of the video. Also, we want to apologize to Dan Kruk for all the forward bar references.
We hope this video gives you a better understanding of BMX handlebar size, both in height, and width, as well as well as bar placement, forward, centered or back.

i actually JUST moved my bars a little more forward like max has his from my normal "in line with the forks" and i prefer it the way max has his, i noticed higher bunny hops, more control with my 180's, good video

Pulled slightly back or inline with the forks always helped me get a higher hop... 4 piece just seemed stiffer and dont shock your arms as much, but, my opinion, are god awful to look at.. I always dig Phus insight

I remember back 10 years ago in 2012, I was 15 Years old and I was already 6' tall. I remember my bar was so low I wasn't able to pop properly because standard bars were around 6.5/7" tall and I was destroying my back bones. Now the standard is 9" but back in 2012 only a few compagnies were providing such size.
Yeah same I use 12 step bars now. I didn't like them at first until I started to bunny hop. 12 step bars are awesome. I had 11 inch rise before.
On the trails it's even weirder with how you change your position. I was a little surprised you said trails run them a little back but I guess I can understand that as the norm. I'm more Max Vu Tang when it comes to trails. But top tube plays a bigger role for bar position for me.
11:30 If you see anyone with their bars like that they might just be into trials. Trials riders run their bars like that for similar reasons to the ones already mentioned, to give more space when you're hopping on the back wheel and to make it easier to get your weight over the front wheel when doing up-to-front hops.
6:29 Back when i raced i did run my bars level with my forks now i run them a touch forward like Max now with a 53mm reach Cult Redemption stem 🔥👍🚲💨

I have a question are there any BMX bikes made in the USA anymore.? I notice most riders are using old vintage redlines CWs GTs haros? Thinking about making a full us made 4130 4140 chrome frames. The junk made today doesn’t compare even material wise. I highly doubt any of its actually 4130 moly
As far as I know, there is no completely made american made bike. There are frame, forks, bars, cranks, stems, sprockets and pegs made in the US and then the rest is 90% Taiwan

I will say 4pc does ride different then 2pc. It feels a lot stiffer and more rigid. Like your energy transfer when say just doing a HOO is more instant. It could be placebo totally but I think it’s Fr and has to do with their being more welds and shit
I feel like my 2p on my Sunday are like weaker and easier to turn more agile, and my 4p s&m on my older redline seems like there stiffer and a little harder to turn. Also could be my placement I like max placement but my redline is a little toward crazy guy according to phu and I def need to bring my redline back a touch
