    Ahhh, the "panic spiral". Yes. I'm (sadly) very familiar with it. The sticky-note method makes good sense. Thanks so much for the help. I always look forward to your videos. : )

      Yay! Hopefully the sticky notes help to reduce your panic spiral, even if it's by just a little bit =)

      Kanmido actually does have a portable Kanban! You can see it here: www.kanmido.co.jp/products/10min/10min_howto_long.html. The three columns are split into Today, Week, Month. I found an English review of it here: mcaspian.com/2017/02/07/kanmido-personal-kanban-board/ =D

    Another addictive video, Yukiko! I'm thinking of a few ways to tweak the management board for my planner. I'm retired, so generally I don't have to "be here and do that" on anyone else's schedule, but planning is an art form that gives my life necessary structure.

    • @yukikosakamura6498
      @yukikosakamura6498  6 років тому

      That's what I've heard: Retirees miss the structure afforded by work and other commitments. =) Glad that you can use planning to give your life structure! I'd love to know the ways you use the management board for!

    Great tips! Thanks for sharing! I already use sticky notes in some of the ways you’ve described, but I’ll definetley try out the other ways as well. I’d really like to see a video about that little time management board! Have a great week!

    I would love to incorporate more sticky notes, but I often find the ones I use don’t hold for very long or aren’t the right size for the task at hand. I am interested in the time management planner you mentioned. Thanks for sharing!

    • @yukikosakamura6498
      @yukikosakamura6498  6 років тому

      Hm... I wonder if you could cut the sticky notes down to size maybe? The time management planner is quite a fun tool! It was one of the most interesting things I saw in Tokyu Hands! I haven't seen it outside of Japan... yet!

      I'm a sticky note addict! I find you have to "stick with" (pardon the pun) brand name Post Its, the cheaper notes just don't stick as well.

    Love this video. I’m drawn to sticky notes and have a lot of them. However, I have found myself wondering how best to use them. The temporary and partial nature of the adhesive make them perfect for unconfirmed appointments as well as recurring tasks! Excellent video!

    • @yukikosakamura6498
      @yukikosakamura6498  6 років тому +2

      The recurrent task idea was revolutionary for me! When I started doing it, I could feel a huge load drop off my mind! Now I use that idea for other reminders too, like library loans and such. Sticky notes are an amazing invention!

      I, too, am in the midst of three big work projects this month and my life has come to a screeching halt. I've been reading Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Effective People to try to figure out a way to avoid that in the future. Maybe that might help you also! =)

    Hi Yukiko, I love your videos, they are very inspirational and informative too. Love the dark ink pen you use. I would like to write fine and have it dry quick! So any suggestions and links would be great help thank you.

    OVER COMMITTING. those are the perfect words to describe how I feel every day and each week as I NEVER finish anything. In my life, my priorities are getting trumped by my daily tasks that need to get done as a Single Mom just for me to stay SANE: work 5-6 hours a day 3 -4 times per week (i do gig work), keep the house clean and decluttered so i don't go nuts, pay bills / balance budget, clean, handling my 6 year old, cook on some days, self care on some days, and try to relax all against the projects that take so much more time: UA-cam Channel and Etsy Shop where i do graphic design work.
    As a creative I need a LOT of "relaxing time" to just chill out and be settled into myself and my creativity. but goodness it's so hard going against daily life.

    The over commitment of several tasks in a day is so true. These days I just keep them at 3 at the most.

      Sadly, this is a common problem for many people, I think... Our world tells us that we need to do more, and more, and more... But as I keep finding out, more doesn't mean better...
