    Costume jewelry rings make a good eBay Variation style listing, especially since you have the display tray, to take the lead photo of the entire group. Then you can either photograph each ring on a solo stand to clearly show each variation or find a way to put a small row of numbers or letters below each row of rings. I like to do it that way to speed up the process and as a way to encourage multiple rings per order, since 1 ring ships for the same cost as several.
    I make the actual variation: “Style” and just put them in as Ring 1, Ring 2, etc, or if you prefer Ring A,Ring B…. It also helps if you make each listing up with the same ring size and show 1 slid onto the ring sizing rod, so they can clearly see the ring’ actual size.
    If I do better gold and silver rings as individual listings. I always take a photo of the ring on the sizing rod and close ups of any markings inside the band. 😉

    I was listening more than watching, still noticed all the hat changes, BRAVO lol.
    I do this 95% solo. My 24 yo is in my house but doesn't participate much. He goes to estate sales with me and grabs what I show him in pictures and sometimes does some heavy lifting. 2 weeks ago, I left him in the estate line with my credit card and went to the yard sale part which saved me a good 30 minutes because when he was done inside, I went to the line to check out and we were gone in less than 5 minutes. He was a huge help that day as he also grabbed 3 of the things on my list while I got distracted by things on in the pictures.

    I agree that it would be nice for eBay to include a step in the buying process that clearly identifies the actual seller or shop they are doing business with. But we also benefit greatly from the larger franchise style branding that a global company brings to the table at such a small cost to us, even though we can suffer from the bad practices of others. Great video guys!

    Great video! I would recommend acid testing the pieces, some are marked and they are not real. Looks like a great buy!! 🎉

    I'm on Team Pops when it comes to sourcing. I'd MUCH rather stay home and order product vs driving all over the place searching for stuff. But that is because I'm one of those 1 Man Shows y'all talked about. 😁👍

    Anti Tamper Stickers are a great idea to help prevent Parts Harvesting, which happens and is hard to prove to eBay during a claim. If you use them, make sure to show 1 clearly in the listing photos. When the Parts Harvester sees the sticker, he will likely pass on yours and prey on another seller instead, which nips it in the bud before they make the buy.
    I also use UV ink on expensive discs, marking them so I can tell if the buyer is trying to send back a badly scratched disc, keeping the one I sent.

    • @mg2023faith

      Ooooh the uv ink is an awesome tip.

    • @brianhenry2385
      @brianhenry2385 24 дні тому

      @@mg2023faith It doesn't really help when having eBay step in, unless you have previously photographed the disc before mailing, but it confirms to me what is going on if/when the buyer makes the claim and you respond by saying the disc returned was not the one sent.

    For years I felt like any online selling was scams. I had people tell me sine 2000 that I should be selling on eBay. I have started one now but kicking myself for not having done it earlier 🙃

    Jewelry is what I do, and I see a lot of jewelry marked real but it is not. You have to learn how to test properly before you can sell the jewelry for good prices. I include a video with the test in the listing.

    I think a lot of the first time buyers get burnt by a bad seller. I am happy to work with people if they actually contact me. However just the reaction of the buyers is to me the previous sellers were bad. Of course you also have a percentage that just think eBay or whatever is like amazon. I do it by myself but there’s not great sourcing in my area so I’m surviving and trying to thrive but I’m just not there yet.

      I agree. It is almost like you have to remind people that they are two separate platforms. Nowadays, though eBay shipping is probably faster than Amazon!

      @@Grams_Pops_Vintage-Grams yeah Amazon has shit the bed. I used to get most anything in 2 days and I live in bumfucked backwoods NC now the item could be in my house and they would get it here in a week.

    Shared Platform Selling: saw an article a couple weeks ago were someone had seen eBay putting up listings with the eBay Seller and Store names stripped, so the buyers were not seeing any info regarding the seller. The general consensus was that it was eBay testing out an idea. Personally this seemed like a bad idea from a Seller stand point.

    I am definitely a mad hatter, take off one hat but there's always another underneath. It's not easy & can be very overwhelming. Especially if you do it how I have. 😅 I'm currently doing a physical reset of my store. Touching every item, reorganization & new sku's etc. I'm determined to get this rolled out completely the way I want it & it's alot of trial & error in this learning process. Sounds easy enough but if you want it to thrive then you must be a mad hatter or a pair of jokers ❤. I so enjoy you two thanks for all the good content

    When u find marked rings (.925 or gold markings) in qty, in among a large qty of costume, don’t trust the markings alone, especially when u know the stones in the settings are costume. Just because some overseas maker stamped them, doesn’t make the metal real. It’s not the same level of confidence as finding a few marked pieces in a large estate sale collection. 😉

    • @brianhenry2385
      @brianhenry2385 24 дні тому

      The same is true of other metal items, like those Troy ounce bars of silver or ingots. Just because the package says fine silver, doesn't make it so. It's true of other objects too (as you learned with Transformers), like antique coins. One of them most commonly faked US coins are the Trade Dollars from the late 1800s. They look real, have age and wear, but when checked the weight of the fakes is off, compared to a real coin. So, even if it costs $50 to $100 to make a good fake (by melting cheaper old coins), but it re-sells for $1800, that's a win fr someone. Most folks know that high end kicks, purses and watches are often faked, but so is jewelry and at a glance it's hard to spot good fakes when they are made in qty in an overseas factory.
      Sellers will even fake vintage muscle cars. If the value of a 1964-66 Pontiac Tempest is $3000, but a restored 1964-66 GTO is $60-80 K, then it's worth their time to re-badge the cheaper model into a GTO. I've read that there are more registered 1964-66 GTOs still on the road then General Motor's records show were even built. If there's money in fakes, then it will be faked.
