I am aware of the compression ratios but more interested in the structural difference. Basically can I tune my SO, plus intake mods, add leaf springs and exhaust mods to close the gap safely?
The engines are virtually the same but where you’re going to have issues is the transmission. The Aisin is the main reason why the truck can tow 10k more 👍🏾

Yeah, Hubs has “built” a 3500 to tow our future 5wheel and chose a red. Neither of us want a black or white truck. Silver is a good colour and looks ok when dusty.
I had a 2014 Laramie dually and honestly dodge hasn’t changed much since then except for the giant screen inside. With Ford and GM stepping up I think Ram could do a lot better then what they have so far. For a 90k truck they should have more than just painted black wheels and a fancy screen. Not hating cause I have loved my previous ram trucks.
Are you blind, ram has had by far the nicest interior up until the new f150 and the 2022 gm trucks but imo they just finally caught up to rams interior
I ride with my mirrors up with and without my trailers because I can see better. I think the tow mirrors should have been fully powered since 2019. They are a pain as manual because they adjusting is a lot of in and out of truck with the small mirror or having someone adjust that small mirror for you.
That is one beautiful truck, I have a 2022 3500 Laramie ram SRW in the night edition and man I can tell you that I love it, I'm sorry that I didn't get a dually, I didn't have nothing to put me over the edge on getting one. My 5th wheel weight about 13,000lbs maybe and if we get another 5th wheel it will be within my limit on my 2022 Laramie. The dealer that I bought my ram from had a few dually night edition but they was only in the Big Horn trim level and I wanted the Laramie for the led's lighten. I got tried with every ram I get I had to install some HID's in it so I can see down the road, those halogens lights don't work for me.
Nice and congrats! A 1 ton should be good up to a 15k GVWR assuming it’s not a front kitchen or living. I have seen more RV manufactures adding more storage in the rear, specifically with drop frames which should help with pin weight 👍🏾

🤣🤣🤣 I’m just saying, the Limited is a tough cookie to beat… Even the new F-150 doesn’t quite beat it although I do like the screen layout better. You are correct that the cab feels bigger in the Ford/GM but interior design is where RAM is killing and most people overlook the cab size 👍🏾

😂 all good, I’m hoping we get a redesigned cab soon although I’m thinking it could be a few more years… The Sierra is the best looking but I have never needed to make a 90 degree in the 10000+ miles I’ve been towing my fifth wheel 👍🏾

@Joe Smith do you get a warning light or chimes / alarms too? The 2500s have a TPMS (tire pressure moniting system), where the 3500s have a TPIS (tire pressure indicating system). The TPMS give you the annoying warnings , chimes and lights when you want to run a lower pressures in your tires to soften up the ride when empty. The 3500s have the TPIS ( past 3500s and according to the 2019 2500/3500 manual, but don’t know for sure). The TPIS gives you the tire pressure values on the instrument cluster, but will allow you to run lower tire pressures to give a much better ride when empty, but will not drive you crazy with warnings and chimes. Not trying to be an a**. Just trying to make sure that RAM didnt change anything.
I have a Limited crew cab LB, those Nexen tires are trash. Belt busted in front tire at 26k miles, got it to the tire shop and there was another one there with same issue at 16k miles. I ran Michelin on my last dually, they would last forever but hard riding tires. I tried my first set of Cooper tires and love them. I also installed a set of Centramatic wheel balancers because most tire shops can't balance offset wheels. Even my Wife thinks the dually rides almost as well as my Escalade. I tow a bay boat from NC to Florida Keys a couple times a year, 900 miles and 16 hours. Last couple trips I have done the full 900 mile drive in one day with less fatigue than driving my SUV 10 hours in a day.
This is exactly my last Ram, but a 2021. I hated filling up that 50 gal tank, but I get it’s purpose. I ordered a 22 Limited SRW 3500, but am having second thoughts. It seems really high priced for a dated design and Powertrain. When I say dated design, I mean the cab dimensions compared to the 1500. I honestly hate the 68rfe and the aisin. I honestly like driving the Ford powerstroke better and I hate admitting that.
I just ordered a ‘22 Ram CHO. I previously had an order for an f350 with the 7.3 gasser. I agree they’re expensive and I prefer the driving dynamics of the Ford. The problem I found on the forums is people have been reporting issues with the 10speed. I also believe the Cummins is easier to work on in case of repairs. That Ford PSD is properly quick though.
I drive a 2017 Ford F550 for work and earlier this year I had to have the 6.7 PSD completely replaced. Not saying all are bad but at less than 80,000 miles, that should never happen.
A co worker of mine recently bought a 21 350 Tremor PSD. He’s had multiple check engine lights come on already and the 2018 he traded in had an upper oil pan leak at 30k and was leaking oil again at 60k when he traded it in. I’ve been definitely looking at a 6.4 hemi with the 4.10s since diesel is so high where I am and I don’t tow as much anymore.
Blacked out everything, looks good but so very super not practical! Do a couple long hauls & the bug splatter & rock chips will make that front clip look like a battered boxers face.
This seems like a steal vs that used 2500 Denali for 81K. If someone buys that truck they need the idiot of the year award. The air suspension is an option that I would add and delete the nite package to keep cost down. I wish you could have test drove that truck with 80 plus lbs in thoses dual tires with no load! I never ran more than 65 lbs in mine even loaded.
I have the 2020 3500 black out. They need to get RID of the NEXON TIRES pieces of JUNK!!!!! My front 2 tires started to come apart at 14K miles internally....If you buy this truck get RID OF THE TIRES.....

The TPIS gives you the tire pressure values on the instrument cluster, but will allow you to run lower tire pressures to give a much better ride when empty, but will not drive you crazy with warnings and chimes.
Not trying to be an a**. Just trying to make sure that RAM didnt change anything.
Damn 90,000 !
Don’t forget the $7k markup 😶
They were supposed to go to Goodyears on the duallies for '22, but every one I have seen still has the junk Nexens.
RAM must know everyone switches out the tires anyways so this is their way to save money or keep price down on their trucks 👍🏾
@Mike I am not a Goodyear fan, but have seen lots of failures of the Nexens.
Why are the wheel well trim pieces on the daully bed missing?
They haven't finished prepping it yet. They don't ship them with all that stuff installed.

Can you do a 2022 Ford F-350 tremor diesel towing test
😢 I wish…
@@JB_WhoWork I’m soon going get one soon in a few months ☺️
Nice! Ordering?
@@JB_WhoWork yeah we can do a towing test ram 3500 Cummins vs f350 powerstroke srw ☺️
Would like that! May have to travel to come see you lol
what are the holes in the rear fenders?
It’s for the fender flares, they ship it without so they don’t get damaged
Love the RAM Cummins but not the all black I have a 2500 Cummins mine is silver 2020
@Fivefilms I’m hoping 2 more years will give us a new generation🤞
@@danielrosas7550 I have a 7.3 10 spd with 35k miles runs good no problems.. just ordered a 22 Ram 6.4
I ordered a 2022 a mega cab night edition
Nice!
I have the mega cab( 2021) and had to put the 50 gallon in it
Did you get the OEM tank to fit?
@@JB_WhoWork no had a titan tank put it not to bad you can find them online
@@clifftonlindsey382 does your miles til empty still work?
@@JB_WhoWork I had it. Re-calibrated by an authorized installer but yes the new miles to empty work right
Dude if I can keep the system working, I would definitely add the Titan, where did you get it done?
All new model in 2023
Needs a some 35’s
That aisin trans makes ram the only choice for long term reliability which the 10 speeds from ford and Chevy won’t hold up
Yea I’m hoping they get them bullet proof in a couple of years 👍🏾
I wish they’d partner with Allison instead for the automatics AND bring back the G56
Blacked out everything, looks good but so very super not practical! Do a couple long hauls & the bug splatter & rock chips will make that front clip look like a battered boxers face.
Yea, if I ever buy black again, the entire front will be PPF and I will add ceramic coating on everything 👍🏾
Hey JB, wow work???????
RAM 🐏 💪🏾💪🏾
that isn't overload spring that is anti wrap spring not part of load caring system
Interesting, I asked someone from Stellantis and they said it was an additional load leaf spring
I'm a RAM fan myself but there are only 2 problems:
Price 😳 and it's all black 😕
One scratch and it's ruined
Yea it’s scary how expensive these trucks are… If I every buy black again, it will get PPF/ceramic coated ASAP 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork good point. I never considered the ceramic coating
It's just a pickup
Truck made in MEXICO💪💪
👍🏾👍🏾
👍👌✌👋😁
This is all you 🔥🔥🔥
@@JB_WhoWork yes it is my friend. 😁👍✌
It's nice definitely not worth $90,000 you could get a semi truck for that price with air bag suspension
Yup, I would just order a new truck and negotiate off MSRP 👍🏾
Micro tires
I wish I could put a big down payment I would get it
Yea you almost have to… crazy money 😣
Hate the wheels completely, dually option is $1,495 now.
Won't stay clean looking for more than a couple hours after a wash.
💯
Nope it looks cheap, also a standard truck has 17" rims its only worth $75,000!
Could’ve washed the truck
Next time I’m there I will call you so you can come help 😜
Just don’t like black on black. Nice truck tho
Yea it’s a fad that won’t die lol
Wash the truck before you do video
damn that is one of the fugliest interiors. that screen is ridiculous looking
sorry ram interiors are ugly as a baboons ass
You are alone on this one lol
I have the 2020 3500 black out. They need to get RID of the NEXON TIRES pieces of JUNK!!!!! My front 2 tires started to come apart at 14K miles internally....If you buy this truck get RID OF THE TIRES.....
