It is estimated that a new season will only take a year this time. The 4 years for this season was because of covid and the animation studios having been quite overextended. He came in just like Gaia with a solution that expected everyone to just forget all the bad blood that happened, that's not how things work. Gaia coming in and basically telling everyone it's either you guys follow the status quo or die does not ingratiate herself in fact it makes her talking high and mighty about innocent people being hurt over the fights between the gods pointless because she's about to let that happen by releasing Typhon. her speaking to Hades like she doesn't know why he's doing it anyway why he's decided now to fall to the level of the rest of his family only makes her seem like she's either unthoughtful and unwilling to understand where he's coming from or flat out ignorant. Yeah. Sincerly, I was thinking Gaia was the mastermind behind Heron's tread being cut, willing to play along with the gods for the right moment to avenge the Titans and the Giants, but this dynamic makes much more sense and still holds true to her character in mythology.
@@lucagz6481 They never did reveal who cut Heron's tread right? I feel like there's more to Gaia that could still be revealed (especially considering how villainous she is in the actual Greek Myths). Persephone was like “I should have known it was you” when she looked at her mom like that. I feel bad that she got herself involved to this family drama.
For me, Demeter was the true villain here, because it was her possessive behavior toward Persephone, that leads to that she caused that the family of Hades was divided. Adding thay during the events of Season 2, it was Demeter who plotted to take over the power in the Olympus, manipulating and blackmailing Hades, to used his grief and wish to has Persephone always with him, to makes that Hades work for her. Adding that Demeter hadn't qualms in unleashes a plague in the world, only to weakens the other gods, disgarding the genocide in the mortals caused by this epidemy. And to insult to injury, Demeter had the nerve to lied Persephone, and blamed Hades for this incident, saying that this was his idea, when Hades was actually shocked and disgusted for the plan of Demeter. Being honest, i dare to say that Demeter is far worse than Hera, because playing to Devil's advocate, Hera became a nasty piece of work because Zeus was constantly cheating her, turning Hera in a bitter and paranoid goddess. Unlike Demeter, who was a scum of goddess since the beginning, adding that Demeter hasn't qualms in harm innocent people from her issues, only to manages her selfish objectives, like when threated with leaves a permanent winter, if Persephone wasn't returned to her, making Demeter a more evil goddess than Hera if you analyze it.

But when Persephone showed true and genuine interest in Hades, then Demeter was notably against it, disgarding even the fact that Hades was treating Persephone with love and respect, leaving clear that Demeter is a controlling mother, that always want to imposes her control in each aspect of her child, disgarding the true wishes of her daughter, making Demeter a kind of abusive mother if you analyze it.

Its just that he has easily the gloomiest , but important, job out of all the Olympians which made him really bitter and as tortured as the souls he rules over. And the one person who makes it better, Persephone, isn't even able to be with him for more than half a year because Demeter throws a hissy fit and constantly threatens to throw the world into an eternal winter. You really get the sense the guy was dealt a sh!t hand, while all the other Olympians were allowed to whatever they wanted and could indulge in their famial drama. 2. This is a pretty accurate depicition of Gaia. She is literally mother nature incarnate. She can be beautiful, nurturing and kind but she can also be brutal and destructive if it means maintaining balance Her summoning/birthing *Typhon* , the king/father of all monsters, in response to the Olympians being total pieces of sh!t and doing insane damage to the world with their constant bickering is pretty myth accurate. Its quite literally the planet fighting back with a walking natural disaster. He's essentially to Zeus what Zeus was to Chronos. A being destined to overthrow and end the age of the Olympians. And he's more than powerfull enough to do it too as he straight up beat Zeus in their first round and in their second, Zeus drops a mountain on him to end the fight. He didn't actually *kill him* , just put him in timeout.
Let me just say bravo to this comment ! It is amazing to see someone as interested in this show and Greek mythology as much as me ! What are your thoughts on next season and the fate of Heron? I was thinking maybe Gaia or even Hades would bring him back as hades did for seraphim. It would be interesting to see Gaia bring Heron back to life but I wouldn't be super surprised after she called him a "noble hero" and how she was speaking to him the whole season. They could possibly keep Heron dead for maybe a day or two, something like that, for him to connect with his mother and Zeus and for him to like "discover" himself more in a way, or to maybe look back on his life. It'll definitely be interesting nonetheless! I know it is not easy to come back from the dead in greek Mythology, but also not impossible. For example Hades has the power to give your life back, is not something that he was supose to do for everyone, but he has the power, take for example the time he allowed Orpheus to rescue his wife ( not Hades fault that Orpheus decided to break the only rule of the whole thing, after Hades warned him not to do that) Another common way for Demigods is to become a full god after death, that happened to Hercules and Asclepius, after they are killed they basically evolved from demi-gods into full gods. You have the old "drink ambrosia" option, that they used to turn the dead Psyche into a goddess so who knows if not Gaia there are def options !
I'm wondering why none of the Olympians can't just drop a mountain on him again... I know Zeus is the most powerful one. But if Hera and Poseidon (and Hades if he was out of the Underworld for long enough) did that together, I'd reckon it would work, no? There were crazier things both of them have done.

Not only that: she was shocked when Gaia said that Demeter was the one poisoning the world. I mean, it's quite fitting for Gaia to be an hypocrate. In the myths, she is the reason behind the Gigantomachy and the birth of Typhon (by laying with the primordial god Tartarus), and all of that to avenge her children, the Titans. She clearly already made up her mind that if Heron failed, she would've unleashed Typhon on the Gods and the world to start from zero.

Hades dont want to hurt anyone he just grow tired of suffering and watching his wife and children suffer. Persephone was supose to be free to stay with him on the underworld, but Zeus was a coward and allow Demeter to have things her way, probably because he was to busy cheating Hera to care about Hades. now Hades has one last chance of freedom and Heron want to give him the middle finger, So yeah, is Ok, is odd but s 100% justify for Hades to be selfish

Even if heron knew of hades’ situation, it wouldn’t change a thing. For order to exist the gods must return to their respected domains. Hades realized this, and took the chance to end he and his families torment. Hades knew that this was going against his virtues, which is why he shed a tear before stabbing heron. Hades, like all gods, is flawed. I’m glad the show made him so well written.

I lowkey agree with gaia here. Her grandchildren have so many gifts and immortality on top of that and what do they do with it ? They plot, backstab, cheat and try to kill each other. Her anger is justified imo, she tried her best to show them a better path. The path of forgiveness instead of dwelling on who wronged who for what reason they could’ve and should’ve let go of the past and strived for a better future together. And despite her best efforts they failed on doing so. Gaia understands that to a certain extent no one is innocent there and blaming each other will cause nothing but bloodshed. A great example of this is Hera. You could say this was all her fault but was she not wronged herself? She was constantly embarrassed and cheated on by her husband zeus. She was forced live with his bastards, look at them and be reminded of her own husband’s infidelity for years. She was wronged but that doesn’t mean she was right either, trying to kill zeus’s children born out of wedlock because of her frustrations with her husband, bringing destruction to her own home are inexcusable, she was wrong for that. Same two sided argument could be made for everyone there; yes they were wronged but they were also in the wrong. That’s why they must let go of the past, forgive each other and move on. Gaia understands this and she tried her best to make her grandchildren understand this as well but they didn’t. So now she’s hitting the reset button on the olympians and truth be told, I don’t blame her.
Ok but how were the titans different plus in myths humanity came after the titians were done away with so I’m pretty sure the Titians will be even more less caring how does bringing the, back solve anything 😂
Gaia's plan is to effectively tell everyone to forget everything that happened over the centuries or as recently as Heron's lifetime and get along. That honestly is not going to work people are not just going to drop all of that because you want them to. Basically a helpless parent begging their kids to get along despite knowing that due to all the bad blood that's happened that's never going to happen. If she was paying attention she would know that Hades out of all of them was the one that's been playing his role the longest, he broke and started to play by the same rules as everyone else because in his words playing fair and being just has given him nothing.
I don’t really blame Hades for killing Heron. The so-called chosen one tells everyone to resume their positions and “be better”, but doesn’t even ask why they’d go to war to change things? Hades endures a different type of torture than the souls he oversees, but it’s still torture that he cannot escape from and had physically changed him while all the other gods stayed the same. He has Persephone, but only for half of the year and doesn’t have the power to really be with her. Even when she’s there, there’s a chance that she’ll be tormented the longer she stays (he didn’t even ask her to stay in the Underworld when she ate the seeds because he probably didn’t want her to be stuck down there, too). Not to mention that his children can’t leave the Underworld with their mother, so they’ll be forced to endure living there until they’re unrecognizable. He had a chance to save them all from that fate, but now the “hero” is telling him that he needs to go back because “we’re wiping the slate clean?” Hades did all this so he could use the power for good, not greed. He made a promise to his wife and kids that they won’t have to live like this, and as a tortured god, he wants to keep that promise, even if it means killing the hero.

I found the debate over Hades' actions and killing of Heron very interesting. While he was wrong to kill Heron and his actions were evil, it's hard to blame him. cheated of his birthright, bound to a poisonous realm, forced to be separated from his love half a year and to see his children suffer for it. I’m curious to see if she’d have more to her skillset 3. Hestia was a spotlight for me this season! She’s always portrayed as pacifist, calm, and nurturing but in this show she was badass! From the opening until this final battle where you can see her throwing a barrage of fireballs at everyone lol 4. I love how they portrayed Persephone. A perfect mixture of flowers and darkness lol!
look i may be in the minority here, but i genuinly believe what Persepohne felt for Hades is not love, but spite, she doesn't like all the men her mother set her up with, so when Hades showed her the bare minimum she instantly lose all rationality and acted out based on the heat of the moment, even Hades himself doesn't want her to eat the fruit and trapped herself in the Underworld, but she did so anyway NOT out of love for Hades but out of spite to her mother
Unfortunately, the fact Persephne chose Hades ruined Demeter's plans to use Ares as her puppet to seize the throne. She wanted to rule and saw marrying her daughter to the son of Zeus as the perfect means to gain power.
@@nichoudha even if that's what the writers intended, then the delivery does the a disservice cause i honestly can't see any genuine love for Hades from Persephone. Hades does seems to love her genuinely, but Persephone just seem so determined to rebel against her mother in any way possible that her marriage to Hades seems like a mere tool for that purpose
I mean, did Gaia say a lie? Zeus was a serial cheater who gave little care to his wife or the children, both legitimate and illegitimate, he sired. Hera took out her rage and jealousy on Zeus' lovers & their children instead of him, not caring whether or not those women & children had a choice against being persued & fathered by a god. Finally Hades, he had his reasons for doing the things he did, but he still stole an important artifact that could have thrown the whole world out of balance & killed a man who just wanted to stablize the sh*tstorm that was the Olympians power struggle. Also Demeter killed a bunch of innocent mortals just because her daughter had a life outside of her.
I gotta side with Hades on this one. Bro even shed real man tears after stabbing Heron but Heron didn’t even realized that his words felt like a stab to Hades heart as well. That being said I wonder if next season will include that version of the mythos where, in fear of Typhon, most of the olympians fled to Egypt and that’s how the Egyptian pantheon came to be (would be funny to see the Olympians in their Egyptian versions )
I love the idea that, the gods are not above reproach for their actions in this show. That even they have to answer to a higher authority. Having their deeds and wrongdoings weighed and scaled, just like the mortals, they torment out of amusement!
Demeter is the one that causes all the chaos when Persephone is gone. She takes spring and summer away. Send her ass to Tartarus, have Persephone take up her mantle and abilities and bing problem solved
Even Hades wife was shocked he stabbed Heron like this. Their relationship will change now after what she saw in her in front of her the look of shock.
Heron did tried to settle everything in peace but his uncle stabbed him behind the back bringing that fall of olympus this is what happends when you disobeyed
I think what struck me is that the Olympians ran. The Gods’s ran when she simply spoke the name of Typhon. I know who he is and how he made some flee to Egypt but seeing the gods at battle with one another only to run away in fear is chilling

Oh love, so vastly miraculous and unfathomably horrific. The love of Hades for Persephone. The love of Demeter for her daughter (and for the heaven throne). The love of Hera for Zeus. The love of Zeus for both of his sons and their mother. The love of the Fate to weave destinies and to have control over things that can only be seen rather than known. Let Typhon share his thought about love: the love of chaos and annihilation (and thanks to Gaia's motherly love to think she has the power to make things right). Can't wait for Season 3.
I honestly don't blame Hades. Heron didn't want to do harm but he didn't understand Hades and his suffering. He didn't deserve to die though. Also, I'm glad the series portrays Gaia as something else than the motherly figure a shit ton of modern adaptations think she is just because she's an Earth Mother Goddess. She's NOT motherly. She's wrathful, destructive and switches sides like crazy in Greek mythology. The only ones she's motherly with are her followers but the Gods? They're not safe. And I can't wait to see the father all monsters himself. The absolute calamity of Ancient Greece, THE monster, who made the Olympians including Zeus look like toddlers and trashed them so utterly they went to Egypt. Can't wait for Typhon.
@@melaninenriched7844 Real shit he didn't even bother explaining his reasons to Herron n I bet bro would have found a solution to his conundrum, he went straight to unalive him.
Ok, let me clear the air. This show deviates from its sourc material, literally beginning by saying the most of the story was no transcribed. Gaia wanted Heron to teach the gods forgiveness and not revenge through power. So imagine... After Heron did as she asked and showed them a better way that Haded still killed him. She was outraged (understandibly) that after all Heron and Seraphim sacrificed up to this point to show the gods a better way only to be cut down. Who wouldn't biew them as hopeless. She even helped to defeat the giants for them. After losing the Titans, which were basically her children to their "peace" and still watch them go about their wicked, selfish ways this was a peaceful resolution she wanted. Gaia IS the earth. So ofc she must be tired of all the wars and blodshed. Maybe you guys should pay attention and actually read into the sidelines. Not everything is as simple as: she did something bad, so she is evil. It was the final act of anger and disappointment from an ancient grandma sick of her kids and great grandkids warring on each other.
As soon as heron said that, hades in his mind was saying “nope, that’s not going to happen to me again” So stabbing heron was the solution instead of explaining why hades didn’t want to anymore ? He created a mess and now Gaia rage is upon everyone unleashing the titans I’m mad it ends just like that? It was getting so good
It would seem that the Olympian gods forgot the general rule of thumb…never piss off grandma. Now she has to clean up their mess, and with Typhon no less.
No, that was absolutely deserved. The other gods kidnapped Persephone and left Hades to suffer in a hellish Underground prison for centuries and now Hades is supposed to just take it and go back? If I was Hades, I would have stabbed Heron too, that boy was talking out of his divine ass.
I'm so glad they kept Gaia wise yet extremely powerful. I couldn't find one fault with her decision. All of her progeny restarting cycle after cycle of debauchery, distrust, destruction and depravity she's finally had enough.
I don't blame Hades for what he did. Heron basically wanted everything to go back to *exactly the way it was.* Which means Hades staying in the Underworld having to watch the souls of the deceased suffer and Persephone having to leave him and their children for six months of each year. Hades did all of this to ensure that things would change forever, and his family would never be separated again, so I can see why going back really wasn't an option for him. Not to mention he swore to his wife, children and himself that she would never have to leave them again. This poor guy legit has to bid farewell to the woman he loves, mother of his children and his *Queen* at the end of every winter and is forced to watch his children cry at the beginning of each spring. That's enough to break down any man. Besides, it's not like he enjoyed killing Heron or anything. The man was in literal tears over killing his own nephew. And Persephone certainly wasn't amused by her beloved husband stabbing her brother/cousin in the chest.
@@kevinmosley5945 You got a point there. He didn't. But I'm sure the other Gods told him about Hades and Persephone's while situation. At least I hope they did.
What Heron said was correct. he showed something those so-called "gods" knew nothing about, forgiveness. if it was anyone else in his position it would just be more war and destruction. that's what those fuckers seem to be best at INCLUDING HADES. He's not some nice guy who was tricked a betrayed left and right. he's not some victim you seem to make him out to be. BALANCE HAD TO BE RESTORED. there must be a ruler of the underworld and Hades is the man for the job. NOW if he had problems with going back. HE COULD HAVE COMMUNICATED, but no. he stabs heron like a little bitch. Even his WIFE seemed HORIFIED.
You have to watch shows in perspective. We as viewers know everybodys situation, but they themselves dont know each others unless being spied or talked about. Limited to his knowledge and following exactly what zeus, gaiu had left behind, he is instilling that forgiveness is the key to moving on, but hes unaware of hades part in this. Matter of fact, this is the first time he has ever interacted with his uncle. “Guys, we have to forgive each other and go back to our respective homes”. WE as the viewers see hades struggle and the lengths hes gone to protect and reunite his family. Nobody knew how much hades struggled other than his wife and demeter. They knew the underworld was terrible, but they definitely undersold it. End of the day, Heron was doing what was best for everyone, like he even calmed down ares just a bit to at least listen. I believe in season 3, hades and zeus will talk it out and eventually hades will receive a much better station or maybe even transform the underworld into something more tolerable. Who knows. I just dont want to wait years for it.

You really get the sense the guy was dealt a sh!t hand, while all the other Olympians were allowed to whatever they wanted and could indulge in their famial drama.
2. This is a pretty accurate depicition of Gaia. She is literally mother nature incarnate. She can be beautiful, nurturing and kind but she can also be brutal and destructive if it means maintaining balance
Her summoning/birthing *Typhon* , the king/father of all monsters, in response to the Olympians being total pieces of sh!t and doing insane damage to the world with their constant bickering is pretty myth accurate. Its quite literally the planet fighting back with a walking natural disaster.
He's essentially to Zeus what Zeus was to Chronos. A being destined to overthrow and end the age of the Olympians.
For example Hades has the power to give your life back, is not something that he was supose to do for everyone, but he has the power, take for example the time he allowed Orpheus to rescue his wife ( not Hades fault that Orpheus decided to break the only rule of the whole thing, after Hades warned him not to do that)
Another common way for Demigods is to become a full god after death, that happened to Hercules and Asclepius, after they are killed they basically evolved from demi-gods into full gods.

@@renaepollack3809 she was on the beach next to Demeter the entire time they only show her during the scene when hades killed heron to show her reaction and again when Gaia accused Demeter of being poisoning the mortals
The look on Hera's face when Gaia is scolding her is priceless, she thought she was forgiven because she regret her actions 😂
The irony of Gaia wanting the gods to learn forgiveness, only to deem them unforgivable after Heron's death.

So, it's ok that he cared more for his own happiness, than for stopping the destruction of the world?
yeah it is ok. 100% ok
why? because for 1000 years he was the only one that cared for thw world, for 1000 years he suffer in the underworld and carry tha cross, while his family enjoy paradise and start wars for small reasons. He was the first born male of Kronos, the position of king of the gods was his birthright, he was cheated during the realm selection.
he 100% has the right to rebel or ask for a new selection.

Hopefully she decides to spare heron having in account he had nothing to see there
Gaia: You backstab a noble hero!
Hades: Excuse you! I didn't backstab him... I frontstab him.

Gaea is right. The gods cared more about their own pleasures and happiness, than anyone else's. They deserve what's coming, Go titans!

And the recents events only made things worst.
It wasn't greed, envy or lust for power that drove him. It was desperation and fear. That's why he didn't try to that to Heron. He was desperate and in a moment of weakness, he acted. It's true that he was wrong, but he was not evil.

Toph to Kuvira
" You give metalbenders a bad name"
Gaia to Grandchildren
"You give Mount Olympus a bad name."
My gods, I love Gaia's voice. So much presence it honestly reminds me of the Umbran Elder.
Gaia gave them one last chance to tighten tf up. Now she went from 0-100 in a matter of seconds.

POOR Hera!😢
She survived The Titans.
She survived The Giants.
Without Zeus, Typhon 😮😮😮
Gaia after seeing Heron dying:
All the time... You finally really did it!! YOU MANIACS!! YOU BLEW IT UP!! AHH DAMN YOU!! GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HADES!!
the cliffhanger broke me 😭
Gonna make S3 worth the wait.
As soon as heron said that, hades in his mind was saying “nope, that’s not going to happen to me again”
So stabbing heron was the solution instead of explaining why hades didn’t want to anymore ? He created a mess and now Gaia rage is upon everyone unleashing the titans
I’m mad it ends just like that? It was getting so good
Well, the OG Godkiller is back
It would seem that the Olympian gods forgot the general rule of thumb…never piss off grandma. Now she has to clean up their mess, and with Typhon no less.
Well she did try to mentor them for the better , and even had a plan to do so. But they pissed her off....
But did hades ever try to explain it to heron
@@leeammorris1268 i highly doubt that. He prolly never heard of that. He was pretty busy doing other things like saving the world and mourning.
I think the morale of this story: is that love makes people do crazy things
I love that every god does what they want but the buck line stops at Gaia so no one can stop her😂😂😂
Now you've done it hades, the world is going to die because of your blind love
Grandmother Gaia giving out grandmother energy to her naughty and undisciplined grandchildren
Can’t wait for season 3
Wait is there actually gonna be a season three? Someone please tell me if there is
@@darwinmaldonado365 of course there will be a season 3! Heron taken out and Gaea awakening Typhon! They can’t leave the series like that! So it’s very likely Heron comes back and he and the gods will fight Gaea and Typhon!
@@kevinbergonia5806 thank you so much for informing me, I'm so excited 🥳🥳🥳
I don’t know if they’ve confirmed season 3 yet but supposedly it was planned to come in 2025 i think not too sure.
