- Steps to Fix Genshin Impact Crash to Desktop, Crash on Startup, Freezing and Performance issues on PC
Step 1) Run Genshin Impact as an administrator and disable full screen optimization
Step 2) Laptop users with dual graphics card run Genshin Impact on dedicated graphics
Step 3) Set the priority to high in task manager
Step 4) Try Windowed mode with 720p resolution, press Shift while launching Genshin Impact
Step 5) Do a clean installation of graphics drivers
Nvidia: www.nvidia.in/...

Step 6) Lower down graphics setting and lock FPS at 30
Step 7) Allow Genshin Impact exe to your antivirus program and controlled folder access
Step 8) Run DXSETUP.exe as an administrator
Step 9) Install Visual C++ files: support.micros...
Step 10) Update Windows 10, Windows 7 users - Windows 7 SP1: www.microsoft.... and DirectX www.microsoft....
Step 11) Perform clean boot, close all the overlay, overclocking and background application.
Step 12) Update the system BIOS
Step 13) Launch Valorant first and then try launching Genshin Impact
Step 14) Uninstall and reinstall Genshin Impact

Btw try holding shift as you launch the game and wait for something to pop up, change it to fastest and windowed. I did it to mine and i played quite longer before it crashes.
My problem is it always crashes during the start up screen, sometimes after pressing launch it’ll crash within 10 seconds. I’ve followed these instructions but it keeps crashing. Can anyone help me?

THANK YOU SO MUCH 😩😭😭😭 I spent eight hours looking for a solution, lost sleep over this. I made the graphics too high and the game couldn’t work anymore. All I needed was at least a way to get past the start screen so I could turn it down immediately before it crashed again. The first solution fixed it within seconds, a true refined professional ✋🏾🤚🏾✋🏾🤚🏾
Edit: a lot of you are saying that you were going through the same issues and I should probably mention that later on the game did start to crash again but I followed the video through until I got to this part 4:20 and downloaded the intel link which helped. Try checking that out if the first step doesn’t do it for you! 😊

edit: hii! im back again, i already fixed my genshin impact, what i did is follow the nvidia steps and then my nvidia didn't work so i tried to watch another vid on how to fix it, somehow i tried some solutions on how i fixed my nvidia , and then there's a command that i followed and it fixes, after that i just update the windows and restart. When i launch my genshin, it worked. I hope that anyone of u who's struggling might find their own solutions ( ╹▽╹ ) i've been playing for 3weeks already and what's more shocking is my performance is smoother than before it crashed.

OMG thank you so much! I have been trying for forever! Guys if it's not working for you cuz you turned the graphics all th way up click launch while holding shift and change the graphics all the way down and then to simple and make sure the game is windowed, once you get in the game it will be very laggy and take a lot of patience but that should give you enough time to change the graphics back down to low.

I was playing the game and I changed the graphics to high and then my screen was frozen but I could hear the music but after I tried to open genshin impact again the screen freezes in the start

try turning off motion blur and set render to 1.2 and turn off vsync im testing it out right now and it seems to work

I was able to fix the complete freezes I had (even no music or sound in background) with another solution different from the ones listed in this video: I added the game's launcher.exe in the Graphics card software (in my case, "Radeon Software") which is in the tray icons (this software comes with the graphic card drivers as far as I remember), and launch it from there, so, I did not start the game from the desktop shortcut, but instead from the "Graphics card software".
If I start the game from desktop icon, game freezes a lot, it's unplayable, but the workaround I mentioned made the game run 100% smooth, 60 fps, high graphics and all that.

This is the ONLY solution that has worked for me.
I have Nvidia card so I launched genshin from geforce experience (Nvidia's cards software similar to amd's one) and now I can play with high settings no freezes or crashes... Thank you my friend you helped me a lot :D
I don't know what exactly is Geforce doing but it just made the game 100% playable.

Anybody else have less issues after the 1.1 patch? I don't have any crash issues anymore when it comes to liyue at night, at least with my current settings.
yeah, i remember i changed the settings when i was liyue at night and it froze and i couldnt do anything except restart my computer. but now i cant even get in the game
@@lei645 im on mobile i dont undertand at all imo the honkai animations are way better it doesnt lag for me but why does the genshin impact only thing i can think of is that the honkai was animated from scratch and it just switch to an animations hence didnt lag but genshin is actually gameplay with some level of editing

I played the game normally for the past 3 months why did it crash now? It says not responding after I get into the door at the beginning..
same, it used to work just fine yesterday and today was the inazuma update smh, I'm reinstalling it now but it will take a while

the only thing that helps me is updating my intel driver and going into genshin impact settings and putting the resolution to 1.5 (yeah it may be laggy but aleast it doesnt crash for like half an hour) and putting overall settings to medium.

@@Cgbble btw I found another fix which is download an program call “rivatuner” and use that to set the game to locked 17 FPS and also go on the game setting and put everything to lowest this helps me to completely fix the crash
everytime i lost connection just for a sec the loading takes like 50 mins bc whenever the loading is almost done its reversed, and then loop again

Hello, for my genshin impact, a few seconds once I load into the screen with the bridges and all that after launching genshin just freezes and when I click anyway on the application it says genshin isn’t responding and when I click the “Wait for the program to respond” option it just doesn’t work once I click again since the genshin isn’t responding screen just appears again. Can anyone help me please?

@@scar_6887 i did the first step (in the video) and then i opened genshin back up and realized it was blurry but the lag was gone. then i uninstalled my entire game, reinstalled it, and it was back up… without the blurriness. it hasn’t happened since. my computer’s weird so this might not help you at all, but best of luck!

my genshin impact crashed when i tried diving underwater and now i am not even able to open it after the loading screen is finsised it just crashes
Is anybody here stuck on the loading screen? (the elements one), I just can't get into the game at all... I had no problems with the game when the 4.0 update went live but after a few days later I've began noticing my Genshin from freezing for 1-2 seconds, to full on crashing everytime I go inside Fontaine and it happens mostly when I'm underwater. This doesn't happen at all when I'm in a different region and all my graphics settings are set to lowest. I know my pc is the not the one doing it because I have already updated it to the newest version, and I've also scanned all my drivers and they are up to date. Plus, AFAIK, my antivirus isn't interferring with any of the game files... I've tried re installing genshin, restarting my pc, EVERYTHING, But i'm still stuck on the loading screen. Plus, my laptop is brand new and like I said, This DOESN'T happen with any of the other regions... only Fontaine has this problem (especially when going underwater)

For some reason I would be waiting, WAITING for the game to boot up and once it has all elements and I hear the music I think everything is fine but NOPE! Out of nowhere it crashes and then has this.. black blinking screen going on.
Usually when I go to Fontaine it blinks and I retreat to either Sumeru, Liyue, Inazuma or Mondstadt, save the game, close the game and restart the computer and everything is cool. But noo, this isn't helping. And I'm very upset about it too.. this video doesn't help and I don't have this.. app for the manager thingy. Plz send help..

The problem for me is that after 5 mins of playing the game my monitor will suddenly go black and no signal detected will appear and the fans of my gpu or maybe cpu will rise. I don't know how to fix this tho

Bruh everytime i go to fontaine, MY SCREEN JUST RANDOMLY LAG but the background is still playing, and u can still interact THE PROBLEM IS JUST my screen it's just STUCK and it's so annoying, i can't explore the region much further

I tried everything,.. re-installed twice, both on the site and through epic games... Game loads up to Geo icon, i hear sound and characters talking then crashes

Thanks to this game I wouldn't known that my gpu also has a problem. It only magnifies it I think cuz on some games my pc would freez and then the bluescreen of deatg appears but not as aggressive as when im playing genshin impact. And so this game actually help me to conclude that my gpu is kinda broken hahaha

everytime my genshin does crash upload release, i immediately go here and follow every steps. i usually have it running after doing step 2, restarting and then fixing game files and voila ~ tho i have to fix the graphics settings again after logging in cause its extremely pixelated, but im happy this video exists ;D

I cannot even launch the thing for the first time. I click "Launch", the window dissapears, and then black empty window pops up for a second that has "upload_crash.exe" written at the top. Nothing worked so far
Hey if you have this problem after updating nvidia game ready driver maybe try downgrading it to the version when the game works fine. If still not working you can upgrade back (if the driver is not the problem). This fixed my problem

Search for mihoyocrash(there are random numbers behind crash) folder, open it. Open error text document, what written there is a crash log. If you dont find mohoyocrash folder in %temp%, open genshin again an try to get that upload_crash window to pops up again.
If 'nvwgf2umx.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module nvwgf2umx.dll' are written in the crash log maybe you have same problem as me. If u dont have the same crash cause maybe searching the web about it will make you one step closer to fixing it. That is why this step is helpful as it can determine what is the cause of the game to crash
I had similar problem like you, but the difference is I can launch the game but right after finish loading (white loading screen which has elements in it) the game crashes. This problem started today after I updated my nvidia gtx 1050 driver to the latest one and I looked for troubleshooting methods online but none worked. I even reinstalled the game. Maybe there were some sort of problem when updating my driver or the driver itself is not suitable for my device to play genshin. So if you remember updating your gtx driver and the game not working after that maybe you should try this method. If still crashing I am so sorry to waste your time.
