February's Finicky Bass And Stripers And Unboxing New Lures

- In this video I am at Lake Lanier in early February doing some cold water bass and Striper fishing. This day started out great with a couple nice Bass, but then things slowed down - but there was one more big Striper that makes an appearance! The water temperature is slowly warming, so the fishing is still pretty slow - but there is always a chance at a big one! Watch until the end to see the big fish! Also there is an unboxing of some new lures from Swampro towards the end of the video. Thanks for watching! Make sure to subscribe!

Not a bad day on the lake and a great bag of baits. Went to Hartwell today and had a really good day for a change👍🏻
Glad to hear you had a good day on the lake! I’m going to Guntersville tomorrow to fish some new water.
You caught some good fish! Quality over quantity, swamp pro has some good looking lures
Thanks! Always good to get some free stuff!
Great information as always, Dana. Thanks for sharing! Keep the videos coming!
Thanks for watching!
Great video,very informative,enjoy everyone,good looking baits
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Three nice big ones! That striper was was a giant!
Pretty slow.
The guls are always a good indiciation. I was in that area last weekend and struggled a bit. Only caught three in six hours. Tried everything but still struggled. This week has been warm so I hope they are a little more active this weekend.
This has been the slowest winter in years. Hopefully it’ll improve soon. Meanwhile, I’m going to Guntersville this weekend.
@@FCPFishing Nice! Hopefully you catch some bigs. Have fun.
Thank you Dana for your videos, i have to say what you have helped me with is : SLOWING down 😅 im a power fishing kind of guy and its painful for me to drag a jig on the bottom but i keep training myself to slow down and its paying off 👍👍
Glad to help. It's a hard thing to do sometimes, but it definitely helps.
i use the bucktail jig and your technique and it works
Yes Sir, it certainly does. Thanks for watching!
tryna go out saturday hopefully, what depth u think the stripers gonna be in? and what depth u think the bass are gonna be in?
Bass should start moving shallow any day now. Stripers will be chasing bait, which could be anywhere.
The best bass lake in the country isn't Lanier...What...Great looking baits man and some great looking fish too Dana! What kind of bass will you be fishing for on this new mystery lake brother?
I am in Alabama at Lake Guntersville. Widely regarded as the best lake in the southeast, if not the country. I will find out. Mainly Largemouth.
@ Lake Guntersville and Lake Weiss are both on my list to go fish in AL!! I’ve fished Lake George and Lake Eufaula and they are both great! I have and Airbnb board up for Lake Lanier right now. I want to come and spend a long weekend there, but I want to do it before it’s warm enough for the jet skies to get out..🤣🤣..I’m looking at places that have a dock or a boat house I can just leave the boat in the water and just get up and go from. I’ll let you know my dates when I get them nailed down! I hope you wear the out over there brother!!🍀🍀🎣🎣
@@mullisoutdoors Too late on the jet ski's! I saw a couple today as I was driving by the lake on the way home. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and we didn't do that great. It was cold, rainy, and windy and we caught some fish - but not what we were expecting. I'm not even making a video of it. We heard from some other guys that were fishing a big tournament there and no-one did very good that day. I will go back at some point. If you're going to fish there, you better like fishing grass.
Good morning Dana, enjoyed the vid, what size jighead are you using, looking forward to Sunday’s vid, and looking forward to March 1st , my first BFL tournament on Lake Lanier 🎣
I was using a 3/16 oz jig this time. I'm not sure I will have a video for Sunday. I will be fishing at Lake Guntersville in Alabama this weekend. I will be filming, but not sure I will get it edited in time - although I will try. I hope you smoke them in March.
@ I’m going to give it my best, G-ville, big bass , and grass, I DEFINITELY will be looking forward to THIS vid 🎣
Went out yesterday at mid-lake, not even a bite. Marked one small group of fish and one bait ball. The gulls were sitting on the water, not feeding. The herring & shad must have been elsewhere.
Most of the bait is in the creeks, but it has been super slow. I look for the first wave of pre spawn fish to move shallow soon.
So tough right now.
Yes indeed.
Has fishing gotten better in the last couple of days?
I didn’t fish today, but yesterday it was still way slow.
I will literally ruin a soft plastic trying to get it perfectly straight lol
I normally like it straight too, but the swim baits work better a little crooked. That wobble gets them.
My fishing buddy and I went to Hartwell Tuesday. Air temp got up to 80. Water temp up close to 10 degrees since last week now 49 degrees average. The only bass caught was a 2 plus lb. spot on a chartreuse hair jig off the bottom 65 ft deep.
It should get good any day now. This has been the slowest winter in years.
