I know these are old but these videos are AMAZING. I love how informative these videos are with straightforward clear explanations. I’ve only recently learnt how “varied” the cushion cut can be. These are the best demonstrations of how the cut and other elements all come together. The average person usually isn’t able to translate all those numbers that describe the cut to how it will impact the look. I personally like the vintage cuts.

Extremely rare. I happen to be its inventor so you're talking to the source. I cut them as I need to fill holes in the inventory. We are located on the south shore of Long Island, NY. Hi Kevin. It is a brand of cushion on the market ... vintage facet structure except cut to the highest standard with regards to the optics attainable within that facet structure. Do a search on UA-cam here and you'll see a number of videos featuring them.

I am ring shopping which has been very fun and also overwhelming. Your videos are very informative.
I wanted to ask your advice on diamonds. A jeweler has suggeated we go higher in color and middle in clarity to make the ring appear more sparkly. Do you recommend this??

Firstly ... glad you are learning from these videos. While I am publishing to help specific individuals who come to us for service, it is at the same time my desire to inform the public as well concerning the various characteristics I'll point out in these videos.
The advice you are getting is not very sound. I say this because going higher in color doesn't mean you're going to get a brighter or more fiery diamond with more sparkle. That is a function of cut not color. In fact you can have diamonds of lower colors be brighter and more fiery that diamonds of higher colors (and even appear whiter in fact) when you increase the amount of bright reflections within the diamond. This particular video is on cushion cuts and if you are hunting for a cushion cut I would *highly* recommend you watch my video "A Consumer's Guide to Purchasing a Cushion Cut Diamond". Do a search for it here on UA-cam and you'll pull it up.
